any want to chime in if Black Phone 2 is worth watching?
Saw it on Saturday. We enjoyed it. Its more supernatural/horror than the 1st one. First one is definitely more of a thriller. It has a couple of hokey parts, but I enjoyed the story they told and the setting was very good.

Enjoyed both.

I think I'm going to wait until Black Friday as that's when they typically hit their historic lows. I watched Evil Dead and Evil Dead 2 in the meantime. Weapons is on sale for $12.99, but I think I'll wait for it to go sub-$10. Appreciate the reply.

The Hand That Rocked the Craddle 2025 remake.

Seems to have mixed to negative reviews, but I wanted to hear from you guys that have watched it.

As far as I know, the low scores could be due to the lack of Rebecca De Mornay, which would be understandable.

EDIT: Yeah, that was a load of shit. Inferior to the original in pretty much every single way.

Starting to watch Totally Killer.
Got me thinking what other films have fun takes on slashers that means it's not just a straightforward slasher?
Happy Death Day movies, Freaky, It's a Wonderful Knife, Final Girls.
I guess the Fear Street Trilogy may fit in here as well.

And watched Time Cut at the weekend which made me feel old. Time travel in my head goes to last century at the latest.

Watching The Thing, Evil Dead, and Day of The Dead 35mm scans in the projector cabin this weekend.

Did a little poll with my mates on what to watch.

Even though they're scans made to digital files and played on a modern projector, they really do hit differently still.

My Blu Rays won't be getting touched again.

Conjuring 2

Really great movie with focus on the poltergeist.

The Long Walk is my favourite movie of the year.
It's not too gory so could reach a broad audience.
Just seen that film and it was awful.

I hope the book is better because everything about it was so superficial and dull. No profound or interesting revelations from the characters' perspective either.

Both Weapons and Bring Her Back are the best horror movies this year in my opinion. I've watched a ton of horror but these two stuck out the best, with Long Legs and The Long Walk coming in not too far behind.

I wasn't too fussed about Weapons but really enjoyed Bring Her Back.

Weapons was quite well made but thought it was plot hole the movie and the ending was like a Benny Hill sketch. Loads of people loved it though, I just didn't click for me personally.

I loved it. I mean it's still a Rob Zombie movie, so you have to be ok with the weird shit happening but I love the story and the score and the art behind it. I love Rob Zombie ❤️

Just finished watching this with the missus :

...we liked it .

It's a shudder production so it's obviously low budget, but, films like these just goes to show that having a clear vision for a project and some good directing is enough to create a good, proper horror movie unlike the friggin' multi-million bloated star-ridden bullshit like the Conjurings or what have you...
Doggo was amazing, OST and sound production were more than OK and the atmosphere was great.

Also, the runtime is short (1 hour and some change) so it doesn't outstay its welcome - in comparison again to that latest Conjuring shite which was 2+ hours long for no reason whatsoever.

A solid 6.5 out of 10 watch.

Does the doggo get hurt? Kinda a deal breaker for the wife.

Finally got around to watching..

Bloody hell that was a class wee show, wasn't at all what I was expecting so I went in blind thinking it was just some murder mystery crime flick lol how wrong was I, fantastic flick, next up we stuck on..

Turkish Horror movie about a bunch of cops coming across a satanic ritual, wasn't bad but one of those movies where we needed to watch a YouTube video afterwards explaining the whole bloody thing as it delves into a lot of local customs and religious history that we in west would never have been exposed too, some schockly moments and the premise was definitely better than the execution but worth a watch.

Meanwhile we've started into..

Christ that's a hard watch due to all the in your face racism directed at a black family in the 50's who move to an all white neighborhood and not only have to deal with the cunts on the street but some malovent force inside the house, 2eps in and so far so good but like I said, the racism at the time is alien to me and makes my blood boil so I'll see how long I can stick it

The Cremator (1969)

I wouldn't say it's Horror but...it sure is horrific and creepy. I just caught an actual showing of it in the theater and it kind if blew me away. It's Czech, made in '68 and released in '69 and was banned for decades after its initial release. Not even sure how to describe it. Like a razor wire level black comedy that's surreal, creepy and also visually stunning. The last act or so was full "oh...it goes there" territory.

I'm not sure this is for Horror fans necessarily, maybe more for arthouse and weird cinema lovers.

So much better than the remake.
I started watching it, but had to stop to wait for a day when I'm in a better mood as it felt too unnerving.. I'm Nordic, but there's something about European movies that always feels much more realistic than American ones. They just get under my skin in a completely different way.

Yes it's raw and unforgiven.

Just watched Halloween III for the first time last night. Not sure why I never got around to it before. But I had no idea it wasn't a Michael Myers movie.

It wasn't really that good lol.

It still kills me that they had Busta Rhymes fight Michael Myers while making his own kung fu noises. It's just too good.

And then there's this:

Watched The Forest (from 2016) recently and the main thing that kept me going was Natalie Dormer. Some jumpscares looked terrible and were really unnecessary. There was some decent scenes in the movie and I'm sucker for 'foreigner visiting Japan' type of flicks. I still think I'd rather watch a Japanese flick about the 'suicide forest', are there any good ones? I've probably seen something, but can't remember.

Sorry didn't mean to seem insensitive I hadn't read the post above mine. RIP

I don't remember who in here posted about this movie but the trailer dropped. Same guy that did Oddity and Caveat. Can't wait, I skip a lot of horror films (the mass appeal hollywood stuff) but I can't wait for this one.

A guilty pleasure of mine is the movie Shocker, border line horror and just terrible. But the sound track is really good, so it's stuck with me all these years. Skinner from X-files plays the lead. My brain these days doesn't appreciate horror movies, it's hard to be scared now.

But was scared shitless of Friday the 13th in the 80's, nightmare material.

Shocker is great, I need to watch it again, been a long time.
