Arc Raiders |OT| Gaming's Next Mario 64 Moment™

Man when are those reviews dropping. I need the kind of glazing that only review scores can provide for this awesome game.
I already saw a 65 on meta :D from some clueless idiot

lol its 78 on meta just checked . Clueless idiots. This is why looking at metacritic points are so useless. Not many reviews so far tho

Yeah, I can see some variances in scores from people who use "extraction shooters aren't for me" as a way to knock points down on a fabulous product.

At the end of the day who the fuck cares? Game doing insane numbers, people loving it and probably already making a lot of profit

GOTY for me.

Had an absolutely great time on this tonight. Lacked the initial wow factor as im quite familiar with it but its grabbed me by the balls now.

I don't usually play these sorts of games, but watching streams sold me on it. I bought it and I've already dumped 5 hours into it. Such a blast! I've already had several rounds where I barely made it into a closing elevator, once when I was crawling and rolled over the closing doors into the escape area lol. I don't like having to play with pvp enabled, but I'm getting used to it. I don't do any shooting unless I'm shot at, though, and instead just take out ARC forces for the most part.

Give me a 4K 500hz oled monitor you cowards

Got to put in 2.5 hours this morning before going to the airport.

Had a run where I set my record for arcs killed. All heals used. Fat overweight. No ammo left. No more time left on map, got into the elevator and let it tick down to 0 to survive not getting hit by an arc.

Tons of trophies unlocked from that one.

Got my fat cock to level 3 today too. Most of my stations are level 2, except one, and some of them are almost ready for level 3.

Hit level 30. Lots of quests completed that played out nice cut scenes as rewards for getting into the game lore and story.

Overall a 9.5/10 for me as a solo player.

Planning to dive back in Friday hopefully. I'll lose the whole week for any ranked progression so I may rank back down if it does indeed rank you down. Still think a lot of these are bugged because to only end up at rookie 3 with the amount of arcs, players, and doing the goals in trials, etc should've shot me up a fuck ton…

I would never go back to Tarkov ever again. Marathon will have to be very distinct and good for me to consider investing time in it.

This is my main game for months to come.

Just plugged my mic in and I felt the interaction potential of the game open wide up, it was very cool. This is obvious to anyone of course, but until you actually do it you're missing out. It was nothing too complicated, just a dude on his way to evac crossed my path and quickly asked if I was friendly. We stuck together until the train came in, a new nervy but wholesome experience.

I recommend toggle proximity chat rather than the push to activate default.

I'm always friendly until you turn your back. Then it's a 50/50 on if I maul you over.

I got caught out by 3 arcs today with a sliver of cover. Guy comes to scoop up the kill on me when I have 20% HP and one arc left. I unload 3 big boy grenades in a smoke nade field I made he stood in.

Guess who's punching who now? Give me that looty booty boy. DO YOU NOT KNOW WHO I AM!?

16 hours ingame and I haven´t even started one. Also did not visit the 4th world yet. These maps are absolutely massive.
Yeah the maps are amazing in this. So dense, beautiful and well designed, all of them. There is no bad map or okay map in this game, all maps are amazing

Many ways to engage with them and be successful. Just enough variety in each too.

Excited to see the next one in the north east of the main map open up.

Im really curious about the community event to open the tunnel up. I assume we need to collect and maybe donate materials or something like that

a noticble difference in solos once it hit 5pm ET lol. All day not getting fired on to nearly ten encounters I got shot immediately on sight lol.

This game should really have some limited enviromental destruction, i should not be safe in little 2x2 mt metal shack when a leaper is charging full force, being inside any small structure is basically a cheat in this game.

And the drones need to learn how to enter from doors and windows more efficently, in theory they should get smarter and smarter if the learning machine thing for their ai is true.

Is the game really that special, or is the current "It" game that will be a mere fraction of it's popularity a couple months down the line? I remember Helldivers and Marvel Rivals were huge on release.

I'll add you through steam mate but your Embark ID is just your ingame ID. It'll be something like Gymwolf#1234 . You can't add anyone in game without it and theres a few console peasants in the list.

Its the easiest way or you'll be stuck with my retarded ass as your 3rd for the foreseeable.

I forget but did they say blueprints reset every season or no?

I get the work stations resetting so there is a ramp up each season until everyone is using the killer load outs but the blueprints are insanely rare…

It seems like you're one of the rare ones these days, lol. It's funny, I haven't been shot at first by anyone in three days... I guess there's been a growing loose consensus in the community where most people tend to go solo for "PvE", and teams for "PvP".

Earlier this evening I randomly joined four or five other random solo players taking down everything in the sky and everything on the ground for about ten minutes straight... It felt like we were taking on the entire arc invasion force.. Lots of mayhem and fire... I really enjoyed that experience.

Tales from the Rust Belt:

I was minding my own business over in the barren clearing on Blue Gate last night when I here the old classic "don't shoot" my shotgun gets whipped out just to be safe, we cross paths with trepidation but uneventfully thankfully but then idiot decides to go agro an Arc and pulls a couple my way. We both end up pinned under some wreckage, no smokes so no viable escape route and an uneasy alliance is formed. We both start taking pot shots at the enemy while I'm simultaneously checking my back every few seconds to make sure he's not thinking what im thinking lol. More Arc show up. Gun fire raining down on us constantly. This goes on for a good 5 minutes. We manage to just about take them out then I'm not sure if it was an accident or not but I kop for one in the back from him. I'm down to my last slither of health so I'm not hanging around for an explanation so I spin around and he gets a shotgun blast almost point blank to the face. Its over in the blink of an eye. I feel nothing, such a waste. This could have been the start of something beautiful.

Did he mean it? I'll never know, But I lived to tell the tale and thats what matters. If he had a mic he might have had the chance to explain himself.

Dude had some decent trinkets on him as well, so at least his death wasn't totally in vain.

The best player loot I ever found was the body of two guys.

I heard their gunfire for several minutes so I assumed they were fighting a large arc. I finally stopped hearing shots and wove into the dark building to find them both dead unlooted. Boys had purple guns, and other sick shit. Best haul ever!

Another epic moment was going up a giant slope of a building and two guys fight, so I third party. I take them out then I get third partied. I kill him too, more arcs arrive. Take them out. Finally want to loot these 3 guys for 2 more guys to come, and I wreck them as well. 5 warm bodies and nothing major to even take off any of them lol.

I've lost blue and pink gear. I'm not crying about it.

The game is generous with free loadout to get back into things, and once you finish up quests, level, and amass wealth you can continually feed green and blue loadouts.

Tarkov I have two bad runs back to back at the start of a wipe and it's like "well I guess I'll try again next season."

While I was running around playing this tonight, I thought, "Fuck you, Nikita."

Found a legendary stock in a trash bin, the sound it makes on discovery startled out of me.
Made me think that something like the EMMI from metroid dread would be great.

How do you go about bringing down the queen in the first zone? thing is fucking huge and basically nukes everyone, is it even possible to kill it?

some random bro in the squad said 'I got some gear to take down the queen lets go boys' so off we went, followed bro into getting one shotted before he even got near it, then squad bro #2 got downwd by a random rocketeer that heard the noise. I luckily had a hatch key on me so noped out of there fast

Odd post. If you're expecting any game to hold launch numbers "months down the line", you'll be disappointed forever. People move on and play other games - and that's a good thing. Helldivers consistently posts 33k daily players, around 7% of it's peak. Baldur's Gate 3 - a single player game - consistently posts 50k daily players, around 6% of its peak. This is normal and indicates a game found a dedicated and active community of literally tens of thousands. On the other hand, Counter-Strike 2 posts north of 600k active players a day, around 33% of its peak - but it's free, runs on a potato, and is the most played video game in the world. So, if you're asking "Is Arc Raiders going to be one of the most played games of all time months from now?" the answer is almost certainly no. Will it have a dedicated and active community of literally tens of thousands? Absolutely. And if that somehow stops you from enjoying the game right now, then save your money and play Counter-Strike 2.

The Queen is an end-game boss. You're not taking her down on a whim. You need either a fully geared squad - heavy shields, grenade launchers and wolf packs out the ears, and a proper plan - or basically all the players in the match have to come together to whittle her down.

The correct and only method is a ton of wolf pack grenades. For example a rocketeer goes down to one and like 3 shots from a ferro. Makes them super easy to solo.

For the queen it's tough because cover isn't really a thing available in the area near where chucking a nade will be close enough.

I plan to attempt her solo once I amass 10+ wolf packs to go into the zone solo. Game plan will be to set up zip lines to be able to have an escape route, then come back in and chuck new nades.

Think they have around 50k HP. So bring whatever you can carry. I'd go in groups as it would be even harder as a bunch of solo's.

Can I request a video of this if you pull it off? Sounds wild!

I rarely record myself anymore since I stopped my shitty attempts at being a streamer after a few years, but for this I'll just hit record on the ps5, and see what happens, then upload it if successful.
