Games are good now.

You just don't have enough time.

Sorry, my pause is almost over, gonna make some AI picture with big tits later.

I dont give a fuck about anything Bethesda makes (other than Evil Within)....I'm guessing its broken mess?
They broke the game a second time yes. It's hilarious.

Though onto the topic I'd say there are always games that are good and many that are bad and many that are good have largely been Indie devs providing $70 experiences for $20-$50 dollars and AAA Devs providing $20-$40 dollar experiences for $70-$150 dollars.

Honestly for me personally having more fun with Japanese AA and AAA games more than indies because (not all them) most of them either like to make roguelikes or Souls-like.

Games have stayed good, it's just not the big studios putting out the best stuff anymore.

Backlog never stops growing though.

I think on average there are more good games than ever out there.

That's also because there are more games in general, too many maybe, so much trash as well.

I don't think the peak is as high as previous gen though, but it may be a factor of:
- innovation is harder and harder.
- me getting older/more jaded.

I LOVE FROM's Souls games but in my opinion NONE of the clones managed to capture feel of the combat and atmosphere of FROM games.
A lot of the clones don't match the atmosphere, surrealism and art direction Fromsoft puts out. The basic gameplay loop is there but everything else not so much. And of course level design.

innovation is harder now and that's because everyone in big budget has constrained in safe area, too much stray from safe area could damage the possibility of return of investment.

That's nice. I notice that not many people here talk about their experience of playing games, though. You'd think that if games were so great, many more people would be buzzing about their experience, wanting to share. But instead, 90% of the threads are about things other than that.

I think I understand, though. GAF is pretty negative, so if you want to share your unabashed enthusiasm for a game, you're going to get abashed pretty quickly.

What language is this? I believe gaming was held hostage through the chip shortage, catering towards DLC cosmetics I believe is wrong, Madden and NBA 2K games have no plans for anything new, I'd have more respect for gaming frankly if they looked out for the long term interest of gamers, they've already green lit PS6, PS7 etc. can we just take a breath.

Very likely.
Most innovation comes from indies, which is great but sometimes they feel limited in other ways.

That's probably the biggest gap with the past:
- innovation was more easily hardware/tech advancement driven.
- triple a were/could take risks.

back in the 90s, 2000, everything seems balanced, gaming was not as big as now, and not much money involved, i think
