Fallout 4 anniversary edition has released folks and guess what. It's a broken piece of crap.

Even xbox loyalists jez corden and colt eastwood are complaining about it. What a clownshow.

I bought it last night, I've had 2 lockups working with an old save file. The load screens are unusually long. I'll need to start a brand new game and see if the issues persist. But right now I consider this an unplayable game.

Why are remasters/reissues/whatever this is so goddamn hard? I don't care if you're trying to shop these projects out to some F-tier interns in India, these companies need to do a better fucking job. I'm sick of the "ohhh gamedev is hard and expensive and takes too long" whining from the PR shills. There's no valid excuse for this.

Wrong thread for this type of rant. This isn't a remaster.

This is the game, DLC, and "verified" installed creation club content all put together in one package, much like Skyrim Anniversary.

Fallout 4 1.0 also had bad issues on release. This is just Bethesda being status-quo Bethesda, including their jank engine.

Fallout 4 was just the first time reviewers and fans both finally started feeling fed up with it. Then 76 amplified the problem.

I wasn't sure how to categorize it because the changes seemed fairly significant, particularly considering how old the game is, but fair point.

The fact that Bethesda still managed to break it, though… incredible.

Any of course the new update THAT NOBODY NEEDED breaks mods for thousands of people. For a company publicly saying they cannot leave SHITBRYO engine behind (for those that don't know - it's the engine created for Morrowind) because it would mean severely limiting mod creation they for sure hate modders.

I had to uninstall my Steam version and install the GOG version to keep all my mods (personal favorite the high fps fix that unties the physics and framerate) because of this.
I don't want to wait if that mod will be updated to this new update.

This shit is just too stupid on Bethesda's part.

I feel like Bethesda should be working on fixing the endless bugs in their many years or decades old games that have been released many times before they put out deluxe plastic rubbish for hundreds of dollars.

I only play the GOG versions now, i've uninstalled the Steam ones, Every time Bethesda updates their games they make them worse not better, and they only care about creations these days and F76, 18 months to fix Fallout 4 that they broke!, what a joke of a company.

Is this truly as bad as people say? Skyrims special edition was amazing and more stable for mods which is basically the most important thing. So I assume this should be like a Fallout 4s version of the special edition unless this really is worse?

I haven't played Fallout 4 in awhile but my game is already well modded and top tier making it easily one of the best game of all times like the other modded Fallout and Elder Scrolls games so won't risk buying it if it's not as good as what Skyrim's special edition was to Skyrim. Just wanna make sure it's not the typical Bethesda hate and is actually as bad as people say. Cause I'm sure there were some folks that dislike special/anniversary for Skyrim and it wasn't bad at all when I got them and was in fact much better like Skyrims special edition.

I didn't follow any news on this but what was even added? What is the purpose of existence of that version? On PC I mean, I don't care for resolution patches on consoles.

People have enabled them to get away with this shit for decades, yet they still keep buying it & then complaining about bugs. Bethesda are shit developers full stop they lack the talent to actually truly develop a fully polished game, they just let the community do all the work & finish their games for them it will never change.

Everything they touch turns to shit, another of their clusterfucks.

I want to be very very fair here:

I have FO4 installed on my Gen 4 nvme drive in my pc, and loading screens would randomly take ages even before this anniversary edition.

Thanks, Todd "It Just Works" Howard.

Skyrim Special Edition added a lot of engine and graphical improvements that both made it look better compared to vanilla and more importantly made it more stable, especially when modded.

Skyrim Anniversary Edition did pretty much nothing but bundle a bunch of Creation Club content and screw over the PC modding community.

Fallout 4 Anniversary Edition looks to be more or less the same as its Skyrim counterpart.

Ok. Did Steam auto update Fallout 4 into this?

Edit: Nope. You have to buy the upgrade and it is $40. Bite me, Bethesda.

Green Man gaming has the "upgrade" for $34.
