Kill Bill x Fortnite confirmed, will incorporate scrapped subplot from Tarantino's script

So apparently Epic had an in-person event last night to hype up the upcoming season.

Grok summary:
Epic Games hosted the event at the Vista Theatre on Wednesday night to hype the new season arriving around November 30, featuring a collaboration adapting the unproduced 'Yuki's Revenge' storyline from Tarantino's original Kill Bill script. In this scrapped subplot, Yuki Yubari seeks vengeance against The Bride, now brought to life with playable outfits for The Bride, Yuki, and Gogo Yubari, plus themed vehicles in Fortnite After Dark mode. U.S. players can access early Gogo Yubari outfits via opening-weekend Kill Bill screening tickets, blending gaming and cinema while showcasing Fortnite's draw for Hollywood icons.

The censoring of Pussy on the Pussy Wagon seems shortsighted at best, children wouldn't know what that means anyway and I think they asking what it means could easily be hand waved away as something innocent by parents.

If the kids are going to ask what Kill Bill itself is surely thats more of a problem than having to explain "Pussy Wagon".

They created this problem lol Buck isnt even IN the game so why is the Pussy Wagon there except if to be for adults who've seem the film (since she doesn't drive it for long in the film iirc) and get the reference so when why not just have the real name cause its not for children anyway.

If children have seen the film then they'd know exactly why its called that and then censoring is pointless.

They censored it because otherwise people who have never seen the film and havent shown their children the film and dont even know what the film is... will be offended.

Lmao thats like the definition of fighting shadows, fuck those idiots and dont cater to them.

If I'm missing some aspect of this or someone has something to add that I might not have considered I'm open to having my mind changed ofc.

Ultimately I dont think its a massive deal cause the main target for the game is children but it just seemed like they created their own problem here by putting the PW in the game in the first place for no reason.

I'd guess cause the film doesnt have any other iconic vehicles, but then maybe it wasn't the best fit for a licencing in the first place. Just running out of shit I suppose lol

I wish I cared about Fortnite.

He is promoting Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair, which releases next month. If it gets these kids out the house and into theaters to see the film, that's a good thing.
Ahh ok, this is just a re-release of the films.
I mean, if they want to see the films they can just stream them at home so I sort of doubt it will get them into theaters lol

They generally avoid any sexual or alcohol references. In the current Simpsons collab, they even went as far as to replace all Duff beer with Fortnite's Slurp

I remember YEARS ago they accidentally enabled boob physics and the usual suspects made a big deal about it so yeah... probably best to just avoid any potential controversy, even if it's dumb.

I'd imagine that's what most people who end up curious about Kill Bill through Fortnite will do. From a marketing perspective it isn't a bad move from Tarantino. The Whole Bloody Affair is basically Vol. 1 & 2 as one continuous film with added sequences, so it's a new experience for old and potentially new fans.

Haha surely this fort trash will get kids below 18 to the movie theaters!

Oh wait, isnt this 18+?

It's the most adult of adult films and it's 20 years old

What kid playing this will care?

I personally LOVED the films, rewatch on occasions, but I won't be playing Fortnite because it's in it.

Also, not a chance I will sit 5 hours in a theatre watching this. Hell NO lol

Also there's a teaser trailer for the live event for the new season:

Godzilla, Kong, Homer Simpson, The Bride, and X-Wings teaming up... Ready Player One is here apparently lol

You never went to see an 18+ movie with a parent when you were a kid? I watched Event Horizon in theaters with my dad when I was like 12 lol

Scream was my first R rated movie in theatres. Guess I was around 10 or so when it came out. Somehow got my parents to take me to see it lol

Anything to NOT port the ORIGINAL tower defense mode onto the Switch 2. Wake me up once they've done that.
I'm sure they're working on it. They've made some nice improvements to STW over the past few weeks alone so it's not like the mode has been abandoned or anything like that

im having a really hard time making myself play the Simpsons season for some reason, i thought i would like it a lot more than i have. I havent even completed the first page of the BP yet and i think it ends in a couple weeks :(

Entertainment media is so bizarre anymore. I think we will soon enter a time when IP is used specifically to do collaborations with other media like Fortnite. There is a ton of IP out there that would make way more money doing a Fortnite collaboration than they ever would releasing a new show/movie/comic etc.

Like I am certain Disney could make more money from their purchase of Fox just doing gaming collaborations with the franchises than they would releasing new movies. I bet the Simpsons Fortnite thing made more money than the last 10 seasons of the show combined.

Did he really need the money and/or promotion?

He could be one artist whose work hasn't been infected by the fortnite plague. He had this opportunity but he chose to waste it.

It's an R rated movie. The children playing fortnite have no business watching this film in theaters or at all.

Yeah, I get that. It would still be a way to expose the film to a wider audience. If Tarantino is looking for exposure, Fortnite definitely provides it, whether that means introducing younger players to the characters for the future or encouraging older players to go see the film when it releases. John Wick, The Matrix, Dune and other films have also been promoted through it, I'm sure it has a net positive effect for the franchises.

Would've much rather had an actual Kill Bill game.

I know that's not how this works, but I can still be salty about it, considering the TWO PS2/Xbox ones got cancelled.

At least there's the OpenBOR game.

I've not kept upto date with it since my account was stolen few years ago their support team didn't seem to give a shit about it but claimed my account was "safe"
