AI. Especially the first one.

They keep doubling down on those Xen levels, blue shift had literally the least amount yet they want to keep extending that part like in Black Mesa....no a better coat
Is it really a retcon? I mean, they basically progressed the plot forward for some seconds which resulted in Eli getting saved and Alyx taken by the G-Man.
Better to say it tied in perfectly considering its a sequel. Thats probably the best part of ALYX. They didnt just let it go and ended at a different point, they went all the way to where ep2 left. Though I didnt think its gonna be 5+ years wait...or even more lol.

It looks very similar to the Episode 3 concept art, so this could be someone dropping those into chatgpt and saying "Create concept art based of these images but in line with HL:A artstyle".
AI. Especially the first one.

I don't know anyone would assume or have confidence that these are definitely AI.

The ship in the first one is from a real and old image (2016). The rest of it and the other images are reminiscent of previous Episode 3 concept art we've seen.

Hope it'll be Half Life 3 instead of Episode 3 cause Episode 3 would be underwhelming. And always liked Half Life 1 more than 2 so hoping for 3 being a bit different again compared to 2. Bring in Race X and the Black Ops along with more exotic and unique looking aliens instead of just the Combines.

Holy shit, looks real to me.

It's Half-Life 2: Episode 3 concept art from this Valve published Half-Life 2 dev documentary from over a year ago. It's toward the end, around the 1 hr 52 min mark.

There is a reddit post from r/HalfLife community that is a compilation of that concept art, also from a year ago.

This is in no way anything new. It is not exciting evidence that HL 3 is around the corner.

I guess a lot of people missed it back then, lol. It sure is being passed around like crazy as if it's something new.

the combine architecture embedded into glaciers is an incredible visual style. Wow. And the resistance sub juxtaposing the hard angles of the combine stuff, perfect.

OMG! Geoff said the 'T' word.

Man, I don't want Valve to announce it there, I really don't.

I don't think they will, but then again, Geoff and Valve have been connected to a lot of things in the past. I bet he'd blow everyone at Valve just to get the opportunity to reveal it at the Awards, lol.

Valve owes them after what happened with Half-Life Alyx cancelling at the last minute and they have always been buddy buddy with the doritos pope. Apparently they weren't made part of the event's advisory board until very recently. It is why I never believed in the "tomorrow" thing. If it's not gonna be announced there, it's going to be announced when it's ready to be.

Valve originally planed to announce HL Alyx on the GA?
Question Mark What GIF by MOODMAN

It'd be cool if Valve had prepped snazzy remasters of episodes 2 & 3 as shadow drops, before the big one. Announced all at once. I mean, they've had the time.

Obviously I get the HL relation, but other than that, it genuinely just looks like an evolved version of the VGA Fortnite map. Especially graphically. But who knows, maybe I'm wrong, and it is what it is, lmao.

I'd hate if this was the first step into seeing anything as real, lol.

Sorry I wasn't clear enough. After the announcement trailer, Valve was going to show more about the game at the game awards of that year, but those plans were canceled at the last minute. So it makes sense that Valve are going to make ammends by announcing the next game at this year's event.

I have a feeling that the answer to most people's reaction after playing HL3 will be 'what were you expecting then?'
It's just gotten to that status where no matter if it's as close to a 10/10 game, people will say 'is that it?'

I actually thought that Alyx lived up to the hype... it could have been called HL3 and it wouldn't bother me. It was a gigantic leap in the experience of that universe, and absolutely incredible in its polish and attention to detail.

I, for one, would be really happy with just a good single-player FPS that continues where Episode 2 (and Alyx) left off. It's been quite a long time since we had one of those, imho.
Personally speaking, I found Alyx quite mind-blowing in certain aspects. And if Half-Life 3 really does utilize neural networks in some way to make NPC/enemy behavior better, it already will be miles ahead of any other game (many modern FPS don't even reach FEAR 1 levels when it comes to enemy behavior).

Yep. It essentially retcon'ed Episode 2's ending just for this.
mmmmmmm, They justified making a pocket of time between HL1 and the start of HL2. Even in HL:EP 2 its suggested/implied g-man has been interfacing with alyx as well.
Them going back on killing eli would be lame as fuck

Will buy a Steam Machine on day 1 for Half Life 3. When HL2 came out I was too poor to upgrade my PC, and I went the console route afterwards. I only got to experience it through the Orange Box on the XBox 360. Not this time bitches!
