Some fans claim there's a "physical sacrifice" being made by the Wicked cast: they mention noticeable weight loss in Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, which they attribute to a supposed "Wizard of Oz curse" inherited from the original filming.

They also criticize the grueling nature of the work: heavy makeup, stunts, marathon days, all of which could be seriously impacting their health.

Then, that morbid obsession with Ariadna is harming her image and talent. Erivo is a plague on recent films.

Curses aren't real.

A couple of the women in the cast seem to have eating disorders, which is unfortunately common in Hollywood.

Thought the movie was good and weird how these guys act normal in that but in those interviews are freaking crazy. Except Arianna, she is weird wherever.

There is mental issues, physical or some sad weight competition. Arianna looks like she's losing or lost her eyebrows, it's just such an odd, sick look overall. But let's pretend all is well.

Hope they get help.

This was near Disney World, so I'm sure that doesn't help. But there are tons of videos online where people are worshipping this shit, hence her comments in that video about how "extra" people are acting over this. It's like wish dot com's version of the Barbie thing.

Maybe it is just being around really weird people for hours on end makes you really weird too.

Ariana is a grown woman who can make her own decisions. To say she is being harmed by Cynthia Ervo is infantalizing her. If she wants help, she has all the money and power in the world to get help.
 
It's sad that they obviously think they must emaciate themselves to look good. Honestly seeing photos like that reminds me of seeing photos of starving people from the Andersonville prison during the American Civil War, or the starved survivors of the prison camps during the Holocaust.

They look like skeletons with a thin layer of skin on. I pray that they take care of themselves.

Edit: I just remembered my sister once knew someone who had bulimia. The girl eventually got herself back into a healthy shape but the damage done to her body was too far gone. She died in her 20s from a heart attack.

I can buy it, Ariana doesn't come off as someone with a very high IQ. Michelle Yeoh though, she should know better.

Yes, the curse is called Ozempic. Although how both actresses behave together during promo tour makes me think it's either some severe psychological issue as well at work here, or they are stoned out of their minds 24/7.
