[TheGhostOfHope] Microsoft demands changes to COD, nothing off the table including studio mergers and a complete monetization rethink

REPORT: Microsoft believes BO7 is a good game but the financial performance is below expectations which were lowered last year after BO6 "fell off a cliff".

With the state of the franchise overall, the pressure is now on Call of Duty to change its model.

Microsoft wants to see Call of Duty overall move towards a smoother revenue stream and a reduced expenditure pattern.

Microsoft has also supposedly told higher ups within Call of Duty that changes are very much required and nothing is off the table including studio mergers and a complete rethink of monetization models within the franchise.

last year after BO6 "fell off a cliff".

This is what COD content creators have been talking about for a while .COD´s retention is dog shit. A big problem for the FRANCHISE.

But then again, we can see MS demanding shit, without knowing the implications. It's insane how retarded they are.

"Microsoft wants to see Call of Duty overall move towards a smoother revenue stream"

Doesn't Warzone provide plenty of "monetization" nickel and diming everyone with their monetization? They want yearly COD to do more of the same? there isn't an overlap in players?

And what they're implying with "reduced expenditure pattern" is this about dev cycles? mtx?

I have to believe that there are a finite amount of morons in the world who buy microtransactions. Please 8 pounds 6 ounce baby Jesus, with your little golden manger shoes, let these people die off without bringing forth anymore open bank accounts into this world for these companies.

Let games like this die out.

Maybe one day I will see all games without a storefront again.

They just have no idea how Bobby Kotick made it works for 20 years

Jimbo must be laughing in the retirement home.
And Bobby too, for chuckles

To add to injury - Bobby did tell them they are not suited for this business, but they still paid him billions for him to retire.
