If there's already a thread on this please delete, I couldn't find one on search.
Demo available. It looks and plays great to me.

That looks fantastic! Reminds of all kinds of old favorites; Super Probotector/Contra, Shinobi 3, Midnight Resistance.
Is it playable on Steam Deck? Says unknown on the store page.

Neon Inferno available NOW on Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch!
NEON INFERNO is a hybrid side-scroller and gallery-shooter where the action takes place in both the foreground and the background. As warring factions battle for control of a dystopian New York City, you enter the fray as an assassin for the Family -- a notorious crime syndicate determined to eliminate its rivals and dominate the metropolitan battlefield. Rendered in beautiful pixel art and backed by an evocative soundtrack, Neon Inferno delivers a stylish, modern 2D action experience with cyberpunk flair.

I've had this one on my wishlist for a while, I should really check out the demo.

Besides Gunstar Heroes, Sunset Riders, the 3rd person segments seem inspired by the awesome SNES game Wild Guns.

I got it the demo had me convinced and the price is low. It looked and played great and the background interaction was innovative.
Terminator 2d Fate got delayed too and I expect will cost much more due to the license.

It is tough as hell. I need to restart 'cause I fumbled during a few missions and made no money for upgrades. It is really dope mechanically though. Only gripe is default background aim cursor is slow and every death it has to be manually changed to quick. Pixel art is gorgeous.

I've just started it and the pixel art in this game is INSANE. Holy shit it's so good, seeing it on your screen has a completely different effect than watching a trailer.

I went through the first two levels on Hard, game is tough but fair, I still need to get used to the foreground/background mechanic but it's fun! It seems like this is another 2025 indie banger.

I don't get why in the year of our lord 2025 some devs don't have rumble/vibration in their games, it's like, they think it's unneeded...

Ninja Gaiden Ragebound still doesnt have rumble for the PS5 version but...it's there for the PS4 one (?).

This one, on the other hand, lacks it on both the PS4 and PS5 versions.

It's just something which I find to be extremely odd.

I agree, though in Shinobi: AoV, there's rumble for every friggin move which is overdoing it. There's no option to customize rumble so I turned it off completely. First game in my life where I had to do so.

On topic: Neon Inferno is amazing.

IMO, well implemented rumble actually adds to the whole game feel, notable examples, Streets of rage 4 and Absolum where the rumble can be felt for each connecting hit, those guys at Lizardcube really do get it 😉

Yep, saw it, I think, on John Linneman's list and immediately tried out the demo on PS5 with a buddy. Never heard of it before and it has like 300 reviews on Steam. We thoroughly enjoyed it and put it on our wishlist.

Damn, I wish this was longer.

It was a banger indeed, once you get used to the foreground/background mechanic you'll be juggling between the two states like a master. I've never seen a game blend these mechanics like this, it's really cool.

I like that the devs didn't give a fuck about making this "painless" to play on the default difficulty: the checkpoints are far apart, you will die a lot and repeat the same (multiple) sections until you git gud. It keeps the arcade spirit alive, in part at least.

As I said before, the pixel art is incredible. I can't believe a small team can deliver something like this.
