There allot of very based and good gamers from PCMR but sometimes I dont get it and I dont understand some PCMR. This is getting weirder and scary.
What is a publicity hound?
publicity hound (plural publicity hounds) (idiomatic) A person who constantly seeks public attention, especially through coverage in the broadcast media or news media.
Same reaction. But to be honest its the first time I saw or heard about a death threat in gaming because of exclusivity to a specific platform issue. Code Violet is an indie and not even an AAA game like well known exclusive like Mario, Zelda or Astrobot or Granturismo that is why it is really strange. So if a single Playstation fan sent death threats to a developer, would you say that you don't understand the PS fanbase? Would they be "weird and scary?" GTFO with this.
Pretty sure this is just engagement farming.
They were exclusive with Quantum Error too so what's changed? They aren't going to get attention by making good games, so perhaps they are now trying exclusivity.

It was on twitter I believe. How hard would it be to create a false account and squash the accusation? There is little reason to make that a thing and if they did provide it the accusations wouldn't stop.Exactly this
They are not showing the proof of these threats so I call this bullshit

It could be a publicity stunt but then where is your proof of that too? It's not that hard to believe there are some twitter nutters out there and this probably happened. It doesn't reflect on you just because it was a PC nutter. Best thing to do is to act sane and take it at face value instead of kicking up more controversy like all the twitter nutters are doing now on X. Makes me more likely to believe them really, especially how personally some seem to be taking it all.
"Wow that's terrible what a twat", without letting it affect your purchasing decision and moving on requires very little effort but logical thinking goes out the window when there is tribalism involved.
It's not the first time developers (or voice actors for that matter) to receive death threats, so the likelihood of this being fake is low.Do they have proof? Feels like its just drama to drum up some hype.
Oh this is the same dev? I remember that. It's the Quantum Error developer. They did similar things before putting out that masterpiece to get people talking about it.
This is 100% engagement farming, lol
Come back to planet Earth.fun fact, PCMR are the most aggresive and "fanboyish" among all the platforms.
Sure there are numerous bot accounts kicking up controversy and division on twitter but I'm saying it wouldn't even be difficult to create these receipts and if they did show it some people would still say it's bullshit. My question is why do people care so much if it happened or not? Do they feel it reflects on them or something? They just need to provide receipts. There's fake ai accounts all over twitter so if I was them I wouldn't trust any DMs messages on twitter. I wouldn't even comment about it.
If it's legit emails etc that can be traced then talk about it.
Just show the receipts when you make these kinds of claims. Especially when it's a game no one is talking about.
Apart from now, which shows how well this has worked.

Just say "that's terrible" and move on. No controversy of "platform warriors" being good or bad, no boycott/support "movement". Nothing. Just logically separate the issues and don't fall into tribalism. No having to fight for any corner.

Not really no. they don't have a history either. What they say might ruffle some feathers based on tribalism but it doesn't need to. Why do people get riled up by this stuff? Aren't they just feeding the 'engagement' they say they're immune to?They have a history of doing this crap to gain attention and you are falling for it
That being said, this is clearly engagement farming to drum up hype for a bad game. I promise they received more death threats over Quantum Error being bad than this game not coming to PC.
This is the game that was talked about even before the consoles came out, right? I think it's just the dev trying to rile up console warring to make their game more visible.
people have been making this stupid accusation since before their first bad game Quantum Error released:
Yet with how QE ran on release on better hardware I'd say what they were saying was true. The irony is that the people who get riled up and make these accusations are the ones who create the 'engagement' then make the accusation of engagement. Teamkill say some controversial dumb stuff too. I don't think mods is an excuse to skip PC, I call bullshit on that (it's likely because they're a small dev that struggles really) but they don't want to say the real reason. No reason for people getting mad about a video game skipping PC though as much as that is bullshit. Look at the video above some guy was even mad when Teamkill congratulated someone on a platinum trophy and tried to start some shit. yet the guy on the vid thinks Teamkill is at fault for things they didn't even say or do themselves. Those people kick up the engagement/controversy then complain about engagement farming. They should just say "OK" and move on, why are they so upset about that stuff? Especially when they have no interest in the game anyway.
No, Teamkill Media is an American studio. I'm from the UK and not affiliated in the slightest nor defending it. Just trying to figure out why the people getting riled up and pushing this engagement are the ones who shout out "engagement farming" when they could just not engage at all. Trying to figure out why they're so mad and dont just ignore it thereby defeating Teamkills alleged evil plans. If I was part of the studio that made Quantum Error why would I call it a bad game?Is it me or is this guy is one of the developer of this game? His reaction being so defensive seems suspicious
Well that's just your and Gonzitos tribalism at play again for even suggesting something silly like that. Pretty stupid and baseless accusation but that's nothing new. Not like we weren't just discussing baseless accusations just now or anything. The fact that you think it's about "sides" tells me everything. There are some truly hateful people out there as the video shows.
These are the same guys that started a bunch of needless drama by saying they didn't want their gooner game on PC because they were scared of mods oversexualizing their main character.
Here's a look at their various promo stuff:

I'm not saying they're lying, but I believe that they're lying. Classic clickbait type stuff to get more attention to the game, which they've already done.
