No hard commitments (like no day1 games or working on backlog), because that never works for me.
I had some plans for this year (like replaying Cyberpunk on current-gen hardware) and it worked, plus I'm happy I finished more games than usual (and abandoned less). For next year I'd love to complete The Witcher 2 for the first time, not sure if I find time to replay W3 before the next game.
Also hoping to replay a number of OGXBOX/X360 classics that left some good memories - Splinter Cell, Jade Empire, Overlord, Enslaved, maybe KOTOR.

Also trying to get the BF6 trophy to revive 2000 people in gauntlet and redsec and stun 300 people. Probably half way with the revives. I might also try platinum the PS4 version of MGS2 from the master collection. Already did the ps5 version but that was very difficult.

Im trying to make a 3D metroidvania in Godot and i already have the main character/story/map design/mechanics nailed down but i need a graphic card because my Intel UHD 770 cant do shit and im broke af

For 2026 I'm going to specifically play games that are considered "Masterpieces, 10/10 or games that EVERYONE should play once in their lifetime".
I spent 2025 playing around 20 games or so and literally the only MASTERPIECE I have played (still playing on Ice Temple now) is Link To The Past. It's one of those titles that made me say, "Why the hell didn't I play this sooner?"

I picked the worst time to do it, but I've been trying to sell off alot of my gaming collection and consoles. Otherwise I just play what I want when the moment strikes, same as always.

My gaming goal for 2026 is: finally replacing the coolant in my custom water loop on my Aventum X from Digital Storm. It's had the same fluid in it for a year, I keep telling myself "I'll get to it," and the biggest obstacle isn't time, it's that I have absolutely no fucking idea what I'm doing!!

Managed to get through 25 or 26 games this year. This includes playing Chrono Trigger for the first time which is my first turn based JRPG that I played for more than a few mins.
So next year, I'll try other genres I never completed like maybe a Soulsborne or strategy.
Also I never completed a GTA so plan on changing that as well. Maybe other series as well.

1. Play the Mass Effect Trilogy modded on PC for the first time. I've played the trilogy many times, but never on PC with mods
2. Play Yakuza 0
3. Play Red Dead Redemption
4. Either get emulators through Wii running on my laptop or set up an emulation box to put under the TV
5. Figure out how to play Balatro (even though I put hundreds of hours into it this year, I still am not convinced I actually know how to play).

My only goal is manage being there day one for all my most anticipated games with my VP work and starting a family. Planning ahead and keeping my calendar in order is key but there is already 5 games I'm gonna need like a weekend off for and I can't imagine how hard it's gonna be with GTA6

I want to beat some of the older games that I enjoy but never got around to finishing. Chrono Trigger, Dino Crisis, Far Cry, Parasite Eve 1 and 2, and Knights of the Old Republic. Quite a few others, too.

It's an action-adventure game with simple hack & slash combat. No rolling nor stamina limiting your normal actions (only the special attacks).
It's been a while since I recorded some actual, proper gameplay and uploaded it to my YouTube channel, so here's a tweet sharing one of my last bits of progress:
Scenario looks kinda shit, but that's just the test room. Hope to make some cooler stuff for the final game.
Oh and I hope this doesn't count as spam since someone asked lol.

Get back into VR. I was loving it from last xmas til mid march of this year, playing daily until I shattered my right arm with 2 open fractures. All healed but for some reason I haven't really gotten back into VR or even actually gaming in general. Been watching plenty of gaming youtube videos but not playing.

- Host some games on my new Unraid NAS as a dedicated server.
- Finish off my Space Combat/Sim backlog using my new VKB Gladiator NXT EVO joysticks. Games left: Chorus, Everspace 2, Overload, Project Wingman & X4 (kinda endless though).
- Setup my joysticks with Joystick Gremlin + VJoy, and get working with PCSX2 + RPCS3 so I can play through the older Ace Combat + Armored Core games with HOTAS controls. (Bonus: get working with Xenia for Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge)
- Top of my backlog games I really need to beat: Command & Conquer + Red Alert 1 Remastered campaigns, Dredge, Final Fantasy 9 (PC version with Memoria/Moguri mods), MetalWolf Chaos XD, Metaphor Refantazio & Starcom - Unknown Space
- Complete a 2nd playthrough of Baldur's Gate 3 & try out Persona 3 Reload (beat the original FES version).
- Catch up on old classics I missed: Alpha Protocol, Destroy All Humans 1-2, Oddworld franchise, Resident Evil 4, SOCOM series, Shantae Series, Tomb Raider 4-6, Trauma Center series.

Hopefully complete the GAF 52-game challenge again for 2026. I had a good pace going this year and managed to go beyond 52 to complete 67 games.
I would have completed a few more but the Guild Wars Reforged launch made me pause everything for a month.
It's just too good and it unfortunately activates my MMO-neurons.

Most of my gaming time in 2025 was on the PS5. I've also bought a Switch 2 for my kids which resulted in the Switch OLED being mostly abandoned by them. This gave me the opportunity to play some games on it which I still had in my backlog during the summer holiday. I also became part of the Steam Community by purchasing a Steam Deck. Great for indie games, emulation and older classic titles. I really got into retro games because of that and even ended up buying a small retro handheld (Trimui Brick) to play old 2D games.
I do enjoy playing handheld the most. But I don't want to compromise on graphical quality. Although the SD is great, I hesitate to buy newer games that I know look and run better on the PS5. So on the wishlist they went. The Steam Machine is a nice solution for this and something that I really look forward to. Not only can I play Steam games on my TV, I can also stream them to the SD (basically turning into a SD2). And if Half Life 3 is a launch title (i still believe!) it is a day 1 purchase.
For games I don't want to look too far ahead. I'm really burned out by the constant hype machine. I'm also getting tired of the endless stream of remasters and remakes. Will only buy those if they add something substantial.
For PS5 I'm planning on purchasing Forza Horizon 6 Japan. Love the setting and this might finally make me put down OutRun 2.
For the SD only the In the Jungle DLC for Dave the Diver so far. I really loved that game. I only stopped playing because there was nothing left to do.
And finally I am planning on getting Dragon Quest VII: Reimagined. I never got into these games, but I love the art by Akira Toriyama. And it realy comes alives in this game. Kids are showing an interest in it, that's why it will be bought on Switch 2.
Apart from these, i will be playing mostly backlog games (half a dozen games in there) and retro titles in 2026. I might even upgrade my retro handheld to a Retroid Pocket Classic for those.

My goal next year is to beat every game I buy next year. I'd also like to beat the main line zelda and mario games. I'd like to add Sonic but that seems like a lot so just the first 3 sonic games.
I swear, I told myself I wasn't going to buy anymore games earlier this year and then I ended up buying like a 20 games in the last 2 months and I only played 2 of them. I haven't even beaten those 2.

The main character's look and expressions have that one punch man kind of laid back, couldn't care less vibe. It feels like it could have a funny story with similarly indifferent, carefree dialogue. The mechanics look good too — wishing you success.
