How much is your ram today?

This is insane:

Kingston FURY Beast DDR5 6000MHz 64GB

Price when I bought it in June: $200
Price now: $1500

Got the same kit, feeling rich!

got 64GB (32X2) of Crucial Pro 5600MHz RAM for $164 back in February for something else but ended up using it on my new PC in August. right now it'll cost anywhere from $533 to $640. my only regret is I didn't get a 128GB one back then.

I run Skyrim with over 3,000 mods. While the stated minimum is 16 GB of RAM, in practice Skyrim alone regularly uses around 18–25 GB. I also alt-tab to process images for work without closing the game, which pushes total system memory usage well beyond what 32 GB can comfortably handle. I mean, sure, I could have gone with 32 GB and closed Skyrim every time I needed to work, but why would I?

3000 mod without crashing? How much time did you spend optimizing, looking for patches between mods and other things?

Right now i'm with 32gb ddr4 3600. When i bought the entire kit DDR5 wasn`t that cost effective yet...
One game that can use more than 32gb of ram is DCS. Multiplayer and huge maps/scenarios can go over 32gb of ram.

I have 32GB in a form factor NZXT H1 build I did a few years back and 64GB in the Corsair build I did last year.

edit. I feel like this list is so we all make notes of what ram we own so they can rob us later lol Ram cost crazy theses days!

Why did the price increase so much?

AI companies are buying it all for AI data centres.

Open AI struck a deal with Samsung and SK Hynix to purchase 40% of the worlds supply over the next few years.

One of the big RAM manufacturers, Micron, recently confirmed that they're exiting the consumer market next year and will focus on selling to AI companies for data centres.

The situation is fucked.

Who said anything about no crashing? This is Skyrim we're talking about! :pie_roffles: I'm running Nolvus Ascension (about 2142 Mods), plus my own lore-breaking weapons, armor, companions and other MISC mods. When it does crash, which is less often than you'd expect, it's usually after tabbing back into the game and getting a blank screen while the audio continues to play. The less common CTD happens during save loading, and that's typically resolved by restoring the entire save folder from a backup, which at most is a loss of 45 minutes of game time. My Ram usage is always somewhere between 18-25 which spikes when I start doing work related shit on the side. This is strictly a heavily modified Skyrim thing, ram is a non-issue with the other games I play.
