If this is indeed coming, some third party studio is doing it. Like Virtuous doing 2077 patches.Meh, I'd prefer they'd be all hands on deck to have TW4 release as soon as possible

How could a third party studio specialized in outsourcing do something of the same quality as CDPR core team ? Does not align for meIf this is indeed coming, some third party studio is doing it. Like Virtuous doing 2077 patches.
It will be Fool's Theory doing this, they got a bunch of ex-CDPR staff. They are also doing the Witcher 1 Remake. How could a third party studio specialized in outsourcing do something of the same quality as CDPR core team ? Does not align for me
It's going to be some Skyrim Anniversary "quality".How could a third party studio specialized in outsourcing do something of the same quality as CDPR core team ? Does not align for me

They can't, which is why they're cheaper. How could a third party studio specialized in outsourcing do something of the same quality as CDPR core team ? Does not align for me
That will be hard to outsource it. It has to be developed in RedEngine and only CDPR has experience with it.It never fails to get these types of posts.
Do you honestly believe its being developed at CDPR? I'd wager anything it is being outsourced.
I would temper expectations on this being anything truly great.
Although, when used new DLC for Borderlands 2 to promote Borderlands 3, it ended up being quite good.
Supposedly the new DLC will bridge Witcher 3 endings to Witcher 4. i.e. telling the stories how Ciri ended up being a witcher. That is surprising, one would think Blood and Wine was the proper conclusion to Witcher 3.
The combat is pretty lame. I guess it's just the sense of scale and beauty. The nature of the world I just really loved.I don't get the high praise for this game. I've tried so many times to care about it. The combat is shallow and story is kinda dorky. Just my opinion, but it baffles me.
Yeah I play games mostly for the combat, and it just didn't do it for me. I wish that I could enjoy it. I know so many do.The combat is pretty lame. I guess it's just the sense of scale and beauty. The nature of the world I just really loved.
They have released modding tools to the general public. Plenty of studios are equipped to do it.That will be hard to outsource it. It has to be developed in RedEngine and only CDPR has experience with it.
The quests are insanely satisfying, diverse, and feel deliberately authored. Side content here has more soul than most games' main stories.I don't get the high praise for this game. It's definitely one of the most "lived in" worlds I've ever experienced in a game. Honestly it just feels overwhelming to me on top of combat I don't really enjoy. However, if there's one game I need to suck it up and stick with it's this one. I did that c ds3 years ago and now I'm an addict. I'll try again! The quests are insanely satisfying, diverse, and feel deliberately authored. Side content here has more soul than most games' main stories.
The Bloody Baron is still one of the best character arcs ever put in an RPG. A Towerful of Mice turns a small island mystery into something tragic and unforgettable. Scenes from a Marriage takes a broken relationship and makes it hit harder than entire campaigns in other games.
I could go on and on.
I really think this is the gold standard for quest design.
It can definitely be overwhelming and you could kind of feel a bit lost or aimless but once it clicks, it's something special. It's definitely one of the most "lived in" worlds I've ever experienced in a game. More smoke than fire at this point. An video of an guy speculating about the Witcher 3 getting new DLC that has almost 200k views. If CD Projekt was not working on the DLC, they should start now.

Combat isn't amazing, but it's serviceable, and at least allows for interesting build diversity.
The side quests though, I've never in my entire life been so excited or eager to see a random NPC that's willing to give me some seemingly inane side quest.
I've been sent on what I thought was a stupid fetch quest only to find out I was sent on an epic journey that actually intertwined with Witcher 2.
Developers should be studying this game and taking notes as to proper quest design.
I think I'm about to do the same. This isn't a historic low, so I was waiting for it to drop even more, which it might.Witcher 3 is on sale for $15 on the eShop right now, tempted to pick it up solely in hopes that it gets that new DLC and free Switch 2 upgrade at some point
The map has alreqdy been leaked![]()
huh? Buddy, that happens all the time in this industry. How could a third party studio specialized in outsourcing do something of the same quality as CDPR core team ? Does not align for me
DLC can mean a lot of things, from horse armor to something like Blood and Wine
If real, this is nothing more than something like the Netflix Witcher tie-in DLC with one new mission and armor. Something that CDPR can make in a month to tie in Witcher 3 with 4
Anyone expecting something like Blood and Wine or Heart of Stone are delusional
huh? Buddy, that happens all the time in this industry.
Thats like asking how can DICE LA aka Ripple Effect Studios make all that great DLC for Battlefield while never actually making a Battlefield.
Um...they don't need to have made the game, to make content for it.
They have an engine, assets etc.
I think some of you greatly confuse creation of games, like the engine, design etc, with the content and see it as one in the same. Even to the point of delusion of thinking 1 team might be better based on like 1 fucking quest you like or something lol
CDPR making the engine and designing the game, may not 100% mean they would make the best CONTENT that is within the game, that could really be some other team simply piggy backing off of the assets, engine etc to make some better content or something. Lots of support studios assist in this type of thing and for all you know, your favorite DLC, was likely not made by the core team that made the game, but a support team or outsourced to a 3rd party company etc.
Nothing in terms of Witcher 3's content is that great to me to have anyone buy that no other team can make such content, some of it comes across as boring fetch quest 360 era type shit... I loved a lot of the monster side quest in Witcher 3 as I feel that is where the game shines, everything else...subpar or below subpar lol I'm fine with the Loop of "Go to town, get clues on monster, kill monster, get paid by towns people and move the fuck on"
That is legit the only joy i have with that IP lol
could be.
and your fanboying over them is legendary sir.Your hate for CDPR is legendary. Nothing in the last 10 years comes close to W3 quality when it comes to how side quests are build (and their narratives).
All Bethesda games, all BioWare games, all Japanese games (looking at FFXV and XVI especially) suck in this aspect. Ubisoft tried to emulate W3 side quest style in Odyssey and it's much worse but still the best AC game to date when it comes to suff outside of the main story.

I own all their games, they are simply not that great.
Mid comes to mind lol
Witcher 3 even fucking starts to downgrade the series with removal of only being able to meditate at certain locations, now it can be done anywhere, free bombs, free potions, straight action and now its a "Light" RPG lol
So, I like the first game much better then the later 2.
I've played many, many better RPGs with better quest to care about Dandelion's girlfriends fetch quest or "OMG kill da rats with Triss" lol Not only laughable, but boring as shit. Witcher 3's best quest are those monster quest, that view is not um "HATE for CDPR" , its having a fucking real valid opinion about the game without this weird glazing shit some of you do over this company and IP.
Owning it is not enough, liking parts of it is not enough, thus one must um "hate" the company if they don't love 100% of it and glaze it to death in some weird ass fanboy way lol
Stop man....
edit and I have no clue how Ubisoft tried to copy them in side quest. CDPR didn't invent anything in that area, so you'll have to be specific to what you are talking about (as in provide actual proof of the claim, I know, I know, the shit you guys hate to do on here) =)
It's more and more likely coming, babe!!!
It's because CD Projekt wants them to use some things from the Witcher IV so their hands are tied. They have to wait until everything is decided and placed on IV before really working on the remake. It's not like they are just incompetent like the Perfect Dark guys.Really hope it's coming next year, because man, it's very disappointing how so few devs are working on Witcher remake and that after almost 4 years is still in early development.
It'll just be another dumb small dlc like the one the one collab with the TV show. That would be awesome....

They made a stupid decision to announce it right after they've inked the deal with Fool's Theory. It's a similar scenario as when they announced Cyberpunk in 2012, but here the main issue why they didn't made too much progress was because Fool's Theory had their own project they were still working on (The Thaumaturge) and a holdout that came with sharing the necessary tech to work on the game. Remake is meant to use the same engine as The Witcher 4 and with CDPR working directly with Epic on modifying Unreal, it means they had to wait. I already mentioned this once or twice, but I think this is a main reason why this supposed expansion happened, so Fool's Theory would have something to do while they had to waitReally hope it's coming next year, because man, it's very disappointing how so few devs are working on Witcher remake and that after almost 4 years is still in early development.
I think it's important to stress this information you provided wasn't an official part of the leak that started this whole thing, but only a speculation of that leaker. The only thing he was certain was that it's in development and Fools Theory is a dev working on it. Not saying it may not end up true, but this whole thing got out of context because of mistranslationsSupposedly the new DLC will bridge Witcher 3 endings to Witcher 4. i.e. telling the stories how Ciri ended up being a witcher.
Take it with a grain of salt, but there was one more source that corroborated those rumors and said he heard it'll supposedly feature a brand new region to explore. Even recent CDPR's financial reports stated they have about 100 devs at Fool's Theory working on an unnanounced project (so it's not Witcher 1 remake) so if this is this supposed expansion it'll most likely not be a small thing but something closer to Hearts of Stone or Blood and WineIt'll just be another dumb small dlc like the one the one collab with the TV show.
It was the ending...but one story's ending is another's beginning. That is surprising, one would think Blood and Wine was the proper conclusion to Witcher 3.
Blood and Wine I agree, but Heart of Stone wasn't that big and didn't really bring a new area (but it did expand one map)DLC can mean a lot of things, from horse armor to something like Blood and Wine

Yes but it was already the case back in its release, The Witcher 3 was always 100% a diorama and not a simulated world. Comparing it with KCD2 is kinda unfair as KCD2 has probably the best simulated world in a open world RPG everThe open world of W3 is definitely feeling it's age, I did a replay after KCD2 and the difference is pretty stark.
NPCs don't give a damn if you walk into their homes and rob them blind, and they spend the whole day at their designated spots. Most apparent in White Orchard where the npcs spout the same line every time you walk past.
The kid singing about the emperor gets scolded countless times by his father and never learns, two friends endlessly argue about one of them changing his name, women discuss the story about a witcher being decapitated forever.
It's kind of like a painting, really beautiful at a glance but shallow and lifeless.
I would say KCD1 and 2 as well as RDR2 provide similar quality, all sidequests being handcrafted well written narratives.Nothing in the last 10 years comes close to W3 quality when it comes to how side quests are build (and their narratives).
I would say KCD1 and 2 as well as RDR2 provide similar quality, all sidequests being handcrafted well written narratives.
But yeah Witcher 3 is still among the GOATs.
Hard disagree on this, the second is the best of the series in my opinion, but it depends on what you want out of a game. 2 is up there with Chrono Trigger for me in replayability. It's an absolutely brilliant game.God. I am so behind on the Witcher video games. It is not funny. I might as well start over.
I got real far in the Witcher 1 and I lost my save.
I might as well just start over on the third game since that is the best realized one.
