Wrong, as usual. Doesn't matter if it's music, movies or games, awards for entertainment is broken when only popular works get recognized. Too many good materials get ignored, so therefore they are stupid. You guys have your threads for that discussion, so leave the others free of it. Thanks.

The Sonic game is super good, but that game cannot beat Mario Kart World, which is a step forward into the franchise. When the DLC arrives, it'd be better.
 
MK8 Deluxe is better than both of them.

I'm enjoying both MKW and CrossWorlds, but am finding CrossWorlds, especially in online matches, to be really visually 'noisy'. It can be hard to interpret everything that's going on.

MKW has a much cleaner visual presentation where you can easily read the situation, even in chaotic online matches.
 


It will be a fantastic 2025 Xmas for the Sonic franchise and Crossworlds.
It's already topping Amazon top Sellers with Just Dance and even old ass Sonic Super Stars is performing well. (better than brand new mascot games...)


Sponge Bob movie will also help Crossworlds...

The Initial D team kept enhancing the gameplay/hanling/driving experience in the december updates and it's not over:

Xmas Nights will be available tomorrow by the way.
 
Mario Kart World is a better game, but I'd rather play Sonic. How does that make sense? Because if I want to play Mario Kart i'd rather go back to Mario Kart 8 which basically perfected the series. MK8 for Mario Kart, Sonic for something that feels different.

MKW is good, but after my time with it I'd just rather play MK8 again now.

MKW took the franchise to a new level.

That being said, MKW is a far better game than Sonic, which is good, but not as good as MK.

Well, Crossworlds is just cooler than Mario Kart. The whole dimension thing with the rings is a cool effect.

I was just playing the first Sonic Racing game. It runs great even on the crappy Intel GPU in my laptop.

I don't understand the audio design of Sonic Cross World. Each music is an indistinguishable mess, and on the last lap it gets even noisier and muddier.
What's the point of that? It sounds horrible all the time. I don't get it.

Use the Juke Box if you don't like the sound design or fill the current survey to say you don't like it. They update the game very often.

MKW is now below 40% and keep declining.

Is it a step forward in the franchise? From what I've read most people have tired of Mario kart world as it just doesn't have the same hook as the antigravity sections in 8. I've only played it a few times and was not engaged by the gameplay at all. Wall jumping doesnt hold a candle to antigravity and im really baffled by the decision to omit it from world. The levels are far less interesting.

I humbly disagree.
The open world feels right and the level desing is superb. Moreover, the detail attention is wonderful, I haven't see that in a MK before. The anti-gravity was right, of course, but for me, doesn't need it a comeback here. The same for underwater levels. If you want that, play MK8 instead and its good.
Also, the game feels good comfortable in the hands.
Besides, the knockout mode is super good and the 24 players too.
The game's not perfect, no MK is, but I'm the one who thinks the game is a step forward and I don't miss the mechanics from MK8.

Coming from Team Sonic Racing that had one of the best SEGA soundtracks in years, Cross World is an absolute joke.

I am still genuinely baffled by the sound design. The music is terrible, the sound gets muffled as soon as you drift, the last lap is a headache-inducing cacophony of stadium noises and the main theme is plain bad.
I'd say this is atrocious but nobody else seems to have many problems with it so it might be a "me" problem.

I noticed the muffled sound in the demo and a few weird elements in the gameplay but the team already updated many aspects of the game and are doing survey very often...
I'll wait one year to have a huge amount of new content,characters, legacy musics in the jukebox and better gameplay at lower cost.

I haven't played Mario Kart World yet and I won't pay much to try it out. But I've always preferred the Sonic racing games, although Team Sonic Racing was a disappointment. Sonic Racing: Crossworlds is the best Sonic racing game since Transformed (I still favor Transformed due to the broader Sega nostalgia in the tracks and soundtrack), and I hope it has long legs because it does so much right. My biggest complaint is the soundtrack.

I think the soundtrack won't be an issue anymore. Monthly guests bring a bunch of additional OST.(5 tracks for Nights into Dreams, for instance)

I played the demo and the non updated game.(I'm just waiting a new PC because i won't pay for the online)

Plus, i didn't say it sold better than (bundled) Mario Kart World...pawl ;).

There were amazon datas...(It topped Amazon charts and a few days after director Koha D confirmed there will be more surprises for 2026).

Nobody said you couldn't like the game from a demo but to go full fanboy for months for a game you don't even own is strange at least.
Also MKW bundled is such a bad faith argument, nobody is forced to buy it bundled but they do because they want the game.
And it topped the charts if i believe you on the Xbox, seriously the Xbox? what was released during holidays for Xbox, maybe i'm wrong but i didn't hear of any releases these past couple of months apart from multiplats.
So yeah if this game topped the Xbox charts i wouldn't be suprised.
Also why keep comparing to MKW, that's a losing battle and you kill the discussion about the game you obviously like and instead start a flame war which game is better.

You only have to play one to two tracks of MK8 to realise it's far superior to MKW. MKW is another ip ruined by devs desperation to shoe horn open world gaming into everything. Some of the design choices in Mkw is baffling.

As for sonic crosswords, I played a demon switch 2 (which is the switch 1 version) and it looked like dog shit. As someone said earlier it's visually noisy. So much shit going on. The power sliding also didn't feel satisfying to me. Almost like it's too easy. I really wish activision would do a 60fps patch for CTR.

Yeah, Crash Team could be a juggernault.

People are laughing at MK's rivals but remember the Wii U...

MK8 had an impressive attached rate but was limited by poor hardware sales. (MK8 only had 8 million units sold LTD)

Crash Team passed 10 million units sold.
Activision could sell so much more with more investments.

I'm not saying that Crash Team would beat MK but i think multiple factors could drag down MKW (crisis, MK8D's reputation over MKW, RAM issues.)

My main hope for Mario Kart World is that Nintendo continues to build on it throughout the Switch 2 era like they did with Mario Kart 8 during the Wii U and OG Switch eras. It easily has the best mechanical foundation of any Mario Kart, and the moment-to-moment gameplay is way more flexible and fun than its predecessors. The world itself just needs a bit more fleshing out.

My main hope for Sonic Racing Crossworlds is that it drops under $25 with the DLC in the next eight months.
 
Mario Kart World has been fun for me so far. I've just been doing the cups and wouldn't even know it's an open world game.

I dig the move set, with the different jumps, the grinding, and the wall rides. If I can keep triggering the mini turbos, there's even a sense of speed. Something I never encountered in MK8.


How is the sense of speed in Sonic? I imagine it is a big focus that fits the franchise.
