No Rest for the Wicked |OT| Sleep is for the week

Folks, we just had our next Wicked Inside Showcase, this time it was all about how we're approaching Co-Op! :)

Public Beta is out today with the full Co-Op Release coming January 22nd!

Now that you have the basic MP component, you HAVE to do some PVP modes. There has to be some sort of longevity involved with PVP please. I never feel this way about any game, but NRFTW is prime for it. Even if it's just invasions or something. Could start there as that might be an easy stepping point ya know?

I'm just fiending for more content as well in general. Great that co-op is in and friendly fire being on means people could come up with dueling realms or something in the meantime. We'll see I guess.

I think arena pvp is already confirmed no?

Interesting. I guess I better max out all my gear before the update so I do not have to be at the mercy of my rotten luck.

P.S. Anyone have a really OP build for Cerim Crucible's Echo Knight?

Yeah, I think PVP could be quite big for Wicked due to how our weapons and so on work. And it was incredibly fun every time we ran internal tournaments already :)

Jan 22nd

I wonder if combat scales with more players, game might be pretty trivial with multiple people fighting a boss. I like how friendly fire is on though.

Man i really want this to hit 1.0 because i dont want to play it more before full release. Skipped almost every big update, just waiting it to release, but it still feels so far away

Once it finally comes out tho... i feel like it will be a special one.

Yes, we're specifically designing every level 4 times for up to 4 players - Wicked is a lot of fun in Co-Op :)
With all the turmoil this game has had what are the chances it comes to console? Within a year? Two years?
Sooner than some might think! ;)

How does this play with mouse and keyboard on PC? Or is controller recommended? I posted in the other thread but now I see this one!

It works pretty well if you remap buttons. It has a toggle for secondary weapon and 4 skills that can be placed on a weapon. Ideally use RMB (LMB is attack) and mouse to move and control attack angle. Map dodge/run and 4 skills in a comfortable place on keyboard and you are good to go. WASD is super awkward unless you have mouse with extra buttons for skills.

Controller works very well due to 4 skills being mappable to 4 face buttons and whatnot.

Play Path of Exile 2 with the rest of us in the meantime 🐹
They're just very different games.

Diablo 4 and Path of Exile 2 I'd classify as 'Old School ARPGs' since they're still fundamentally based on their point and click model.

Wicked plays more like a Souls-like due to us using an animation-commit combat system.

I recently tried to explain the difference here:

One more day to co-op!

Looking forward to potentially seeing some Fight Clubs pop up. Also, the wait times getting removed for building your town up is very appreciative.

Wait they finally removing those mobile game mechanics?

Im curious about the rest of the changes tbh. Coop is not my thing in games like this

Same, but I see potential with PVP. I'm not usually interested in that but I usually enjoy souls-like PVP.

I'm curious about the full patch notes as well.

One steam reviewer mentioned the game was more of a survival building game than RPG which has me a bit worried. Parts of the action RPG were blocked off until you collected or built certain things which I am not a fan of.

I did some tutorial stuff and optional missions like that but the stuff collected you can just use as is and make full progress. There are benefits to building up the town and finding blueprints to access custom gear.

Yup, Free Weekend and -40% Sale starts today as we launch No Rest for the Wicked Together at 7pm CET - Around 5 hours from now!
Best of luck with the sale and the update. Personally, I plan on getting the game on day one when it leaves early access. It's one of my most anticipated games.

I do have a quick question, though. My friend group has someone in it with a pretty bad fear of spiders. Does Wicked have any spider enemies in the game, and if so is there an arachnophobia mode?

No spiders. But mutated dudes with a few too many legs :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Goddamn the combat feels incredible now, even smoother and more responsive. My fps is worse tho. I have big drops in the city, not sure what they did. The optimization is still a long way to go, but man... This game will be so fucking good once its fully out

Folks, No Rest for the Wicked Together is live now and to celebrate that, it's 40% off AND there's a FREE Weekend - so everyone can play with their friends together! :)

I played some of this tonight and really like it. I don't usually play these type of games but giving this a go. It's not quite obvious where or what you do in this game sometimes. Kind of reminds me of the games back in the day that didn't hold your hand. I got up to an area where there's these green glowing type of enemies and I get my ass kicked. They attack in packs so I just run but they keep getting me.
