In PA they said 18-20+ inches of snow and 3/10 inches of ice the other day. Now it is at 6-10 and 1/10th. Hopefully it stays on that lower side. My place loses power pretty easily and it is really cold here. The power is so bad during storms in this area that they actually have the electric company out here upgrading all the equipment and lines. The area outside my house is all ripped up. Too bad they couldn't complete the project a little earlier.
My girlfriend is coming over and I think she has this whole romantic hallmark movie sipping hot chocolate while it slowly snows outside type of moment. Really if the power goes out it's pitch dark, cold and I have to worry about the pipes freezing. And I have to shovel every few hours and try and get the dogs to shit outside when they don't like the weather either.
The absolutely incredible Indiana Jones gameLovely winter panorama! What's the game you're playing?
Depends on the state. Illinois? Just another day in the midwest. Louisiana? Power's out all over the place, and water pipes are freezing/bursting.What is the [cozy <-> actual danger] ratio with this storm?
Only 7-8" here near DC. Talked to my dad near Pittsburgh, and he got about 14" so far.
I want more, dammit!
Also near DC and we got about 10" so far. It's mainly god damn sleet right now which packs everything into an icicle. I have gone out twice, probably just will go again tomorrow morning.Only 7-8" here near DC. Talked to my dad near Pittsburgh, and he got about 14" so far.

Oh word, I didn't know you were near DC. Where at? I'm in silver spring. Also near DC and we got about 10" so far. It's mainly god damn sleet right now which packs everything into an icicle. I have gone out twice, probably just will go again tomorrow morning.

Stopped running plows? Huh? don't the plows have gravel?Where I am in SE Oklahoma, the Tulsa station I watch couldn't ever agree on whether we'd get more snow or more sleet or more ice. What we ended up with was a nasty snow/sleet layer shit show. Had an hour of heavy sleet, then several hours of very dry snow. A short break followed by three hours of consistent sleet, then wet snow all night long ending this morning with a final dusting of sleet. It's an absolute mess here despite the totals being only half of what they anticipated.
The city has temporarily stopped running plows because all they were doing was plowing off the top layer of snow and ice, leaving behind a sheet of compressed ice. Now for two days of some of the coldest temps since the crazy cold snap of 2021. All in all though, I'm glad it wasn't the freezing rain they had predicted. Power lines are all clear. I was mostly worried about losing power for a prolonged period.
Now if I could only get this stupid outdoor stray cat to stay inside for longer than a couple hours so she doesn't freeze to death.
That's like here in California the last few years. Last year we had way more snow in April than December. April had snow levels down to 1000 feet but Dec/Jan it was over 5500 feet.We very rarely get crazy levels of snow now though. Maybe once every 5 to 10 years. But it does now try to snow in april !!! Most years
although from about Perth north recently had a week of being stuck at home with plenty of sno, just after new year
But from my area and down further south, then a light dusting of snow. seems to totally break the country
Lots of rain an cold nights at this time of year and plenty of stormy weather. (and a bright sun that's like painted on, on the days that are clear and chilly)
Yeah, and when it's above 90 degrees F (that's 32 degrees in 'haven't gone to the moon' units) y'all die in droves. Different strokes and allLol you guys are funny….its just a little Snow compared to us in Quebec City when we get a real Snow Storm
