I feel your pain North American Gaff, this was me over Xmas, was brutal, thankfully my fridge was fully stocked with beer and the power stayed on.. have never seen a winter like it

I'm in PA and we got 10" so far, plowed twice to keep up with it. Still coming down heavy but its half sleet and ice now. It's also 11° and freaking cold outside. 🥶
 
Where I am in SE Oklahoma, the Tulsa station I watch couldn't ever agree on whether we'd get more snow or more sleet or more ice. What we ended up with was a nasty snow/sleet layer shit show. Had an hour of heavy sleet, then several hours of very dry snow. A short break followed by three hours of consistent sleet, then wet snow all night long ending this morning with a final dusting of sleet. It's an absolute mess here despite the totals being only half of what they anticipated.

The city has temporarily stopped running plows because all they were doing was plowing off the top layer of snow and ice, leaving behind a sheet of compressed ice. Now for two days of some of the coldest temps since the crazy cold snap of 2021. All in all though, I'm glad it wasn't the freezing rain they had predicted. Power lines are all clear. I was mostly worried about losing power for a prolonged period.

Now if I could only get this stupid outdoor stray cat to stay inside for longer than a couple hours so she doesn't freeze to death.
 
11.5 inches in central PA so far. Town about twenty minutes south has 15 inches. Ran the snowblower twice so far on the driveway. Maybe ill look into getting a flamethrower for next season....:messenger_sunglasses:
 
Only 7-8" here near DC. Talked to my dad near Pittsburgh, and he got about 14" so far.

I want more, dammit! I love the snow!

Also near DC and we got about 10" so far. It's mainly god damn sleet right now which packs everything into an icicle. I have gone out twice, probably just will go again tomorrow morning.

It never snows where I am and started the day with 2 inches. Mid afternoon the sleet and freezing rain started and it's been going for a couple hours. Hopefully there's little ice accumulation.
 
Just finished clearing my driveway as well as two of my neighbor's. Reporting said 18" fell in the area, but I saw only a foot on average.
 
I love how no matter how bad the weather is Chinese restaurants always come in clutch.

Lol blizzard like condition with a foot of snow, but that doesn't stop them from closing

Order Chinese and went to pick it up, thankfully it's 2.5 miles from my house so no worries.

Shoveled about a foot of snow out of my driveway. It took a while to get here, but it finally arrived and snowed all day today. I'm in central Ohio.
 
Looks like the snow has passed over the NOVA area, weather app shows the sun will be out tomorrow.
 
I might go shovel. Snow stopped. There was a big one a week ago which took me over 2 hours to shovel. This one looks like more snow, but I think it's lighter and fluffier, so might not be that bad. Well see!
 
I got about 8 inches of snow/ice and temps will be around 0 tonight in AR. Luckily no real ice accumulation so the power didn't go out. Saw some vids from MS and the ice killed a ton of trees.
 
Maybe 30% done. Had to come and eat some leftover dinner. Some parts must have been 2 ft high.

But it's light fluffy snow. So it's more quantity vs that wet heavy snow which is the worst.

Excluding the half hour food break. Took about 4 hour to shovel!

It's actually bigger than you think because at that height, I decided to hoof the snow over the top or else it'd hit the peak and roll back down. So there's tons of snow behind it too. There's also smaller height hills on the other side of my driveway too. I always shovel it one way since I share a small strip between my house and my neighbours. But the snow was so much piling up, these mounds are about 70% of the snow all the way down my driveway including that end part by the road. The small strip you dont see are more mini hills. LOL

The only plus side is the snow was light and fluffy for the most part. If this was that heavy wet snow, forget it. I'd be waving the white flag!

I've never lived in a place that gets snow like that, at most the worst we get in the UK is a flurry of an inch or two a couple of times a year at most.

I cant imagine a place where the temps drop to like -30 or more and theres feet of snow. Sounds like hell to me, I cant stand going outside if it's around 0.
 
For once, Michigan was spared. We got at most around 2" total, if that.

Still a good excuse to cuddle up with a nice mug of hot cocoa. :messenger_savoring:
 
We got just under 12" of snow after it was all done. Gonna plow the last of it this morning, but the last few hours were lots of sleet and ice so we'll see how it goes....

But from my area and down further south, then a light dusting of snow. seems to totally break the country 😬😂

Lots of rain an cold nights at this time of year and plenty of stormy weather. (and a bright sun that's like painted on, on the days that are clear and chilly 🥶)

That's like here in California the last few years. Last year we had way more snow in April than December. April had snow levels down to 1000 feet but Dec/Jan it was over 5500 feet.

Supposed to get freezing rain and ice in my section of "metro Atlanta." Really didn't get anything, and I'm A-OK with that. Power stayed on, some ice on the bushes, but the big pines next to my house stayed put. Gotta say, though -- their days are numbered. That was a lot of stress.
