One of the best looking games this whole generation.Bunch of screenshots of Fable have been uploaded to Steam, far too much post-process (thankfully I'm playing on PC) but the game is gorgeous in my opinion:

LOL yep as usual."FF7: Remake Retrograde JXF;Heartdreams" version, which is just the three games stitched together into one title
What Forza Horizon 6 looks like is exactly like Forza Horizon 5. From art direction to rendering, there's minimal difference. Based on the actual gameplay in the trailer, it looks nothing like this hyper real artstyle. What we wanted Forza horizon 6 to look like:

I think The Witcher 4 will too, but that might come out in 2028, sadly.Yup. Only GTA 6 will probably make jaws drop on the floor after this

Make it 29-30.I think The Witcher 4 will too, but that might come out in 2028, sadly.
Make it 29-30.
No chance a 3rd party game with that kind of budget will be next gen only around that time. That would be economic suicide. My blind guess is 2029 and next-gen.

I expect another Cyberpunk 2077 type situation, though not as extreme. A clearly next gen game barely running on last gen hardware. Hopefully, they've learned their lesson.
They already shown it running 60fps on PS5. And it's running on PS5 generation engine - UE5.
Sorry, I've been following game industry for too long to believe in engine tech demos.

First Epic's "Uncanny Valley" demo, now CDPR's "The Witcher 4" PS5 video — it's all the same marketing bullshit. No final game has ever looked as good as these tech demos, and after the Cyberpunk 2077 disaster, I don't trust a fucking word from CDPR.
Epic demo was 1440p 30fps. I would say Hellblade 2 represents quality like that.
TW4 demo was 800p 60fps, I don't think that it has shown anything impossible to render by this console. And remember that between UE5 1.0 (VotA tech demo) and 5.6 (TW4 tech demo) engine got many big performance upgrades.
Hellblade 2 looks like that demo, but it doesn't come close to matching what was shown.
Also nextgen then.No chance a 3rd party game with that kind of budget will be next gen only around that time. That would be economic suicide.
I agree with that but overall Im a lil underwhelmed, though this was a teaser and not a full trailer as far as I understood. Is it just me or did it feel pretty tame the way they showed off Japan? Sure nice vistas and all but I thought they would play more into the whole neon lights, kawaii mascots, some maid cafe staff...I donno, like a bit more bombastic lol. With FH5 they really went all out. I do like that they added the life-size Gundam in the end considerign there is one in Tokyo and Yokohama. The bottom picture looks way more appealing to me. I've never been a fan of that blurred early-2000s pre-rendered cinematic vaseline look with excessive post-processing.
It's less about the 'vaseline look' nor is it about the 'rain effects' like someone else mentioned above. It's more about the artstyle itself. It's missing a hint of grit and liveliness. The bottom picture looks way more appealing to me. One have cost of the 2 billion dollars using next gen rage engine and other have cost of 800 million dollars alongside using ue5, they clearly will have the best visuals this gen and early next genI think The Witcher 4 will too, but that might come out in 2028, sadly.
That $800M budget seems way overblown. One have cost of the 2 billion dollars using next gen rage engine and other have cost of 800 million dollars alongside using ue5, they clearly will have the best visuals this gen and early next gen

Night racing (especially in Tokyo) should just feel a bit more lively in a video game, that's all. There's barely even any neon lights under the cars. That's what me andSlimySnake are pointing out.
the word you are looking for is crossgen. Also nextgen then.
I feel like maybe 20% of both of these budgets will be put into actual making of the game and the rest is marketing, sadly. That $800M budget seems way overblown.
Try this game on OLED in HDR. Its gorgeous
1.0 will come to consoles, hopefully this yearBring it to PS5 and I'd love to.

Its a special one. I always go back and try the new updates, but only for an hour or 2 max. I need to force myself to stop playing everytime, because im saving the full experience for 1.0Great game. I am looking forward to the release
Am I crazy or does this Crimson Desert material not look good at all? Sure there is scale, but the lighting is at best inconsistent often times plain flat, the pop in for lod, shadows and even NPCs is very visible and the iceskating/rubberbanding in the combat animations is terrible.....
wasn`t this supposed to be a technological showcase at some point or is my memory playing tricks on me here?
That epic demo looked doable-ish in its first sequences, but endsequence with fast travel defo wasnt done on ps5, hell we had matrix demo run well below 1080p with dips under 30, yet this particular epic demo could hold stable 1440p30 durning that fastmovement sequence on base ps5?Epic demo was 1440p 30fps. Yeah, I was joking before but I agree. FH5 and now this are super sterile looking.
March Climber
Exactly. I mean the trailer and song looked so pedestrian, as if I was watching a Gran Turismo trailer. They should of made it more hype and wild, I mean its freakin Japan and FH is anything but a serious sim racer. They needed a better song for it too like for the Wangan Midnight games:

Look at it urself:
Back then 5,5 years ago we could be deceived it was real gameplay on base ps5, now we are older/smarter and saw how games look on it- definitely not possible to be 1440p30 on base ps5, it has cgi quality
For comparision matrix demo:
It doesnt hold stable 30 at all despite being below 1080p in native res, there is no way ending sequence of eu5 ps5 demo did hold stable 1440p30 on actual base ps5, it did coz it either was pre-rendered or was running on much more powerful hardware, simple as that
Witcher4 techdemo according to the cdpr devs runs 800p60 on base ps5 but we can clearly see game is very blurry(still looks next gen af, and ps6/highend pc will bump the res/iq anyways so 0 worries here) and definitely looks above anything we saw in first ue5 ps5 techdemo, hell it looks more impressive by matrix demo if we count in that 60fps, like many stated only gta6 trailers look better.
Here same ue5 demo, running on pc rtx 3090(which is roughly 2x stronger from base ps) in 1440p and only manages 40-50fps durning a walk with barely anything happening:
Durning bossfight it has dips under 40, and again even that bossfight is 5x less impressive from ending sequence of ue5 ps5 techdemo we saw back in may 2020![]()

Huh?The end of the epic demo was prerendered. Epic was open about it.
Try this game on OLED in HDR. Its gorgeous
I dont remember. Im playing on my other monitor nowadays without HDR. Still looks stunningDo you have good settings for the hdr?
Looks a bit washed out on my end.

IT looks better in my kinda shitty monitor in sdr than my top of the line tv in hdr so there is something wrong with the settings, ori is stunning in hdr on the same tv...I dont remember. Im playing on my other monitor nowadays without HDR. Still looks stunning![]()
Never saw any info of epic admitting it being prerendered, but saw plenty gamers claiming its realtime and pretty sure epic claimed its real time too, hell i thought it was realtime back in mid 2020 before ps5 launch too, but now its obviously cgi/bullshot trailer/prerendered/false advertising. The end of the epic demo was prerendered. Epic was open about it.
Here is the future of unreal engine, running live on playstation 5
Join Technical Director of Graphics Brian Karis and Special Projects Art Director Jerome Platteaux (filmed in March 2020) for an in-depth look at "Lumen in the Land of Nanite" - a real-time demonstration running live on PlayStation 5 showcasing two new core technologies that will debut in UE5: Nanite virtualized micropolygon geometry, which frees artists to create as much geometric detail as the eye can see, and Lumen, a fully dynamic global illumination solution that immediately reacts to scene and light changes.
Its like woman claiming she has only 7bodycount, then u find out that number is for 2026 only and resets every year(new year new me bs- im spiritual now- then what happened to last 10 years u were physically fucking all other dudes tho? Their penises were very real and not ghosts).
New volumetric effects? When was that added? I was super impressed with mafia when I played it. Not sure what you're not seeing with the character models, they look great imo. Here are couple of gifs showing the different lighting conditions that show up late in the game in Mafia. yes, golden hour lighting looks great in every game, but i really like the new volumetric effects. Also, this is perhaps the first UE5 open world game with a dense forest. And it looks really good. Shame how they only briefly take you for a short mission.

I just mean the fog and god rays around the trees. During the mid day lighting that was prevalent through out the first half of the game, those effects weren't there leading to a very sterile look.New volumetric effects? When was that added?
