Highguard Debuts on Steam with a peak CCU of 97k and 21% positive reviews

Game is failing. Maybe we should put the few girls we have in screenshot.
I think that the first time I've seen any girl in this game. Or I just never realised as there design is forgettable.

It is absolutely a 3v3 game on huge maps. It is... a choice. For sure.

The systems and objective types really feel at odds with it just being a 3v3 game, at least that is my initial impressions after a few matches. Things like reenforcing walls feels kind of pointless.

Showing the Karen haircut isn't gonna help. Looks like Joanna Dark.

Not to roll over a dead horse with a steamroller, but can anyone post a run-down of the game's woke/progressive features? Cause I'm skimming through the promo material and off the top of my head there's just the poster character who looks a bit gay coded. I'm trying to decide how stoked I should be about it bombing like, but even if it's not, the fact that it's more f2p p2w slop that installs crapware on your machine seems enough reason to me...

No, 90k is great. The game itself, not great.
lol no. This game should be doing at the bare minimum around 400K

Sony and Bungie must be peeing blood from the stress. People are going for the kill when they smell blood in the water, and clearly, people are not tired of GAAS, but shit GAAS. Bungie's ongoing reputation with Destiny´s monetization will be reflected in Marathon.

Im sure plenty youtubers will do this, just give it few more days/a week or so, bro, cant count on professional journos, they sold their souls to the corpos long time ago :messenger_astonished:

21% seems a bit harsh but it doesn't seem like it's anything particularly special. I don't think it'll kill the studio though, so the Concord 2 title is still up for grabs.

Consoles. They went over 100k.
I am not really following numbers on free-to-play hero shooters. Is 90K a bad number, I take it? For a first day?
Absolutely not. Getting 100k people to check out this game today was a miracle.

The comment and your reply were about the Steam CCU numbers. And even with a multiplier applied to the Steam numbers to estimate the console ones, the overall number is dog shit… You better pray for Conc-I mean, Marathon. :messenger_grimmacing_

Nope, total players went well over 100k.

Seems like it's very poorly optimized and I've also read complains about the game design itself not making a lot of sense.

They sent this one to die. Must be someone's money laudering scheme because that's the only explanation I see for such a blunder.

This game has to be some kind of work from his wife and her boyfriend or some ugly bitch he simps for. It has to.

This would be a decent CCU for a normal Monday but with a large chunk of US schools closed today and this being free that is not that impressive.

HighGuard. Drophard.

That slope feels more like the result of technical issues (people not being able to play it), right?

Otherwise :messenger_grimmacing_

The majority of the games I tried to get in earlier filed to launch because it couldn't fill the match so that could be part of the decline.

Yeah, it really is a strange move. I really don't understand the whole 3v3 thing and the map is enormous, lol. It really does feel like the game hasn't been fully tested. Balance, gameplay, and performance-wise.

There's obviously quite a bit of money behind this, but it feels so weird considering the project feels like it's lacking confidence. Almost feels like a rush job.

Just started watching LIRIK play it, and he said, "The game is aaight. I mean, it does things fine, but nothing about it is really invigorating and new. It's not for everyone. It'll have its player base, but..."

Honestly, it feels bad to think of the devs who I'm sure wanted to make a good game. At the same time, it's not like I'm going out of my way to buy it, so...

Nevermind, it's free to play. Still...

Comparisons being made to Concord has Concord "trending" on steamdb

Concord has become a benchmark of sorts
