Since many people ask what I do, we used to do start up investments, several of which took off big time. Initially we had no money to invest at all, so I just worked through the nights and weekends against shares, while earning a living as a corporate salary man. When that started to pay off, we reinvested that money. Now, following some huge wins, we are not actively investing anymore.
It's been quite the adjustment as we don't come from money at all, everything is self made. Still back in 2011 we struggled to buy a new TV for this setup I posted on GAF.
As a curiosity, I posted my first setup here on GAF 24 years ago, in 2004. While those photo links are now dead, it was this setup.
While we designed our own setups until 2017, after that we have employed architects who we have briefed about our style with extensive PDFs. We have people to manage our properties, and a select group of our friends have keys - so the properties won't sit empty too much.
Thanks! Most of our spaces have big windows and are very bright, so we need very bright TVs. Back when we picked our London and Finland TVs in late 2019, the Q80/Q90 seemed to perform best on that front. The French Polynesia one followed out of habit when we specced the house in 2023, I didn't actually research OLEDs.Amazing collection of setups, some of my favorite on GAF.
I noticed that you really seem to like the Samsung Q80/Q90 TVs. Any reason why you chose them over OLEDs?
I've been looking into OLED alternatives so just curious.
using a Toslink Z906 on PC since 2008, not able to max it out if the source is good enough *shrugs*This was the best speaker setup you could get specifically made for the PC
I too am approaching 50![]()
I have a lot of expensive crap but this old guy is what's actually worth something for me.

Always plugged in and ready to go with an 80s Wico joystick and upgraded with a Blizzard turbo card and DVI out and CF disk.
There is a C64 under there as well but currently not plugged in.

Man cave, man corner, or something.
I have a couch PC and all the consoles in the living room as well but it's nothing special.

Still traveling so still gaming on portables. Main system is a SteamDeck, DualSense Edge & Viture XR glasses and still happy with it. Added a Switch 2 last year along with a Cyclone 2 controller & Zengrip 2.
Mad respect, man. This is the first year I'll post our three homes in a single post, so it might get a bit long.
