Don't take things personally, it's going to get louder and nastier the more things slow down across the console industry.
You answered youe own question... 'because they get invited to game lauches, events etc'... yes, some people sell themselves VERY easily :-(A lot has said about the leadership and I don't disagree with most of it. How people could be genuinely excited for any future offerings from them after the last two generations I don't know, each is own i guess.
Some of the worst culprits away from those actually being paid to be in charge of all this, are the media . I despise a fair number of them, it takes a certain level of arrogance and selfishness to be so obvious as a corporate lackey to do what they have done over the years.
A underperforming brand they supposedly are fans of yet they can barely attempt to be the least bit critical or objective because they get invited to game launches, events etc.
Decent viewerships (glad to hear some are losing that lately) to showcase honest opinion and tell these executives that things could be better and improve. But no, double down because they were nice at an event for yet another racing game or even more hardware.
How anyone can support these twats is beyond me.
The only one that surely is celebrating after that cursed deal to this day is Bobby Kotick, man made it out like a bandit, he knew exactly when to sell before everything going downNot selling hardware. Not selling games. Not getting new or retaining subscribers. And that's with one of the biggest gaming IP's launching in that quarter? Holy shit. Xbox is well and truly cooked.
That ABK acquisition sure is working out spectacularly, isn't it Phil?![]()
It's all the product of appeasing games media retards. Goes for Sony as well.I don't take it personally, in fact I don't disagree with you, the community aspect went sour years ago.
We'll see how you do in one of my education camps

Console wars is so much fun , its also the life blood of console and gaming industry the fan war that is why I love exclusives. This made the 80's to early 2000 gaming great because all are competiting and have exclusives. That is why its dissapointing that MS xbox did not even lift a finger to compete even through xbox have allot of great development team and great games which they could have made xbox exclusive to make xbox enticing. And gamepass hurts even there own developers.I don't take it personally, in fact I don't disagree with you, the community aspect went sour years ago.
Moving something from one pack of disconnected morons to another bunch of disconnected morons won't do jack shit my dude.Given Xbox's miserable numbers, it wouldn't surprise me if Microsoft eventually sold some studios to Sony, Playground Games with the Forza Horizon IP would make sense, and Bethesda's RPGs would nicely strengthen Sony's portfolio.
Even a pc with xbox sticker is way too risky with a dead brand like xbox. The numbers show that they are not desirable at all in any market.I fully believe that any future hardware that they've planned is almost dead at this point.
I doubt Sony is even interested in that right now.Given Xbox's miserable numbers, it wouldn't surprise me if Microsoft eventually sold some studios to Sony, Playground Games with the Forza Horizon IP would make sense, and Bethesda's RPGs would nicely strengthen Sony's portfolio.

By doing potsCan somebody tell me how Double Fine can withstand this beating Xbox is taking? I wish MS would just sell them off to somebody.
Where? Their SW and service revenue is down with CoD, BF6, Arc, all f2p games on their platform, massive price hikes, PS5 releases and holiday season promotions (including, say, gamepads) glued together. It's their first holiday season with so many revenue streams at once. If anything, it's truly a Biblical disaster. If you remove the hardware they aren't doing that bad.
If they give up on hardware then they will just be another third party company. Sure they could potentially make more money that way, but no one will ever care about the brand the same way that they did before, it will just be another EA or Tencent, a company that makes a lot of money but no one would give a fuck if it disappeared from the face of the earth tomorrow. If you remove the hardware they aren't doing that bad. Which tells Microsoft what a solution would be. Which would be unfortunate for the industry.
I love how after DarkMage, Senjutsusage,Riky , Gavon West, Kvally and all their other footsoldiers exited the building, they sent T Tobimacoss to do their bidding with no preparation and no protection.
When all of this is over, I'm going in raw.

It's not the simple because the hardware is where most of their game pass money comes in from and they do still sell games on there which brings in more revenue. If they get rid of the the hardware then were just talking about shrinking the division as a whole at that point. Revenue will drop from what it once was and never get back to that high again. If you remove the hardware they aren't doing that bad. Which tells Microsoft what a solution would be. Which would be unfortunate for the industry.
Everyone in this thread laughing over COD numbers being down, forget that those sand numbers affect Sony's bottom line as well. There goes Sony's profit margins for that quarter.
To add onto this point, the little marketing they do have is god awful. What happens when you do zero marketing.
It's like they are just riding out this gen.
I guess that is one way to spend Sony out of business.
I mean, they've ended up tilerally without a budget for a bloody year-end wrap-up landing page.To add onto this point, the little marketing they do have is god awful.
How does Phil, who is obviously failing and missing targets, still maintain his role.
I've forgotten the lore behind his self-imposed exile.

Anyone got the down low?
They never learn, do they?
What is even his role anymore? How does Phil, who is obviously failing and missing targets, still maintain his role.

Starfield probably broke him... (That's the timing when he exiled)I've forgotten the lore behind his self-imposed exile.
