No one who actually uses GamePass ever says 'free' unironically, it's just the folks who try to use it as a gotcha in the 'they don't buy games' argument.

I know today will have been tough for you, but don't try and rewrite history here. You don't speak for everyone.
Or do you?
I was questioning why Microsoft's position is unique.
How unique is it really?
Valve already have everything Microsoft have, and plans to have, except being an industry giant on publishing.
A multi device ecosystem, Play Anywhere, online gaming, achievements, OS made for the living room, desktop launcher, handheld. And Steam "consoles" are coming going by online rumblings. They also have their own VR hardware and ecosystem.
What's so unique?
They didn't lol. This can't be true. They must have given some kind of guidance on HW for next quarter.
I never understand why people who don't understand what %YOY means try to come in and pontificate on how much they understand the stock market and you don't.I don't think you guys are understanding these results. They are not saying they grew revenue by 5% in three months. It's 5% year-on-year growth.
They said « Welp »This can't be true. They must have given some kind of guidance on HW for next quarter.
It's a language green rats can't comprehend. The language of impending, inevitable doom of a failed brand. What language is this?
I really wonder how many Xbox Series consoles MS will sell in the next four quarters. Another 30% drop would bring the total from 4.9m to around 3m but now with the additional price hike announced today .... Looks really, really bad for Xbox ...![]()
Isn't it similar to Valve?
Not 1:1 but they both have a store, a launcher, an OS. Valve have a handheld, MS is rumored to launch one. MS have a console, Valve is rumored to launch Steam machines. MS have Xbox cloud, Valve let users access games on GeForce Now. MS owns lots of studios though. But Valve have a bigger store. Etc. It's fairly close even though Valve isn't doing much publishing, yet,
Sure, easy to say that when you never stay subbed all year for $20/month. I wouldn't be surprised the most you've paid for a whole year is $20. You people took advantage of every single trick to get the thing for peanuts, $1 conversions, Pringles and cereal free months promos, the membership program whatever it was called? and then you go preaching about "value". You're hilarious. It would say pathetic if you didn't give me the impression you're broke.![]()
Even tho sometimes GP's value does seem too good to be true.
Yeah it's essentially the big publisher position that makes them stand out a bit. But otherwise they're like Valve without a popular store and launcher and handheld and VR ecosystem.Valve hardly releases games consistently though. But ona technical level your right. They just might not be in the same ball park for software.
It's all a matter of how much you value your own time and your (very short) mortal lifespanSure, easy to say that when you never stay subbed all year for $20/month.
