Arknights: Endfield |OT| A Story of One of The Last Originium-powered Multi-surface Vessels. The Year is ~1254. The Name of The Place is Tallos-II

Hi, will there be a way to increase the storage cap per item later on? I'm at 11k with everything and have little/no use for most of it—you can only trade a few of the items.
Yes. You can increase your region's material storage cap later on by unlocking depot nodes and upgrading them. I think my current cap per item is 40k now.

Today is the DAY I upgrade all my outposts to the max and finally focus on streamlining my production, because right now it is a mess.

The first region is supposedly the tutorial section and story about building until you get to Wuling Academy. I've hit 20 hours and I'm still in it.
Can't wait for all this to be over, hopefully during the weekend.

That's understandable. If you've got limited time to play during the week, I'd still recommend setting aside 30 minutes at most, as it really doesn't take longer than that to unlock elastic goods/market and OMV Dijiang (IIRC the quest is marked as important), since these are meant to be done very early in the game, even before hitting AL 20. Once you've unlocked them, you can start earning a solid amount of Valley Stock Bills to spend on goods, etc. But if you don't feel like rushing it, that's totally fine too.
Yeah, I have a quest to go and check Dijiang, I also unlocked elastic goods/market but to be pefectly honest with you, market and selling shit is the absolute last thing I want to do in a gacha game, it's like playing X series or Elite and they tied this system to everything you mentioned. There's so much I want to write about the game, but I'll save it for later cuz I want to get to the actual good parts of it to see how they're like before writing anything, cuz chances are I might say something and then it'll be completely wrong cuz the game have this and that and so on.

Hmm, I haven't really looked up any guides aside from checking a few builds for my current team. For factory stuff, I ran several sim tutorials to learn the basics and get the starting blueprints, then just experimented to see what works and what doesn't. For example, when crafting purple gear, I checked the full formula and built everything needed to obtain each component at the first Sub‑PAC in Valley 4.
I don't like the gear system in the game in a sence that you need to waste your time to craft it. I'd much rather just buy it via store and save a lot of time for doing things I like in the game way more, but the thing is, they rally want you to waste your time and craft instead cuz prices are absolutely insane even for blue gear. But I'll get to that later during the weekend.

What I'll add is that since you're still early on and not relying on the factory much yet, you could manually produce some industrial explosives, as they help a ton with exploration in Valley 4. If you've already done this then never mind. ;D
Dude, heh, as soon as I spotted things in the world you need to blow up in places where there's no barrels, I immediately made sure that I can build portable grenades, so I got that covered already.

I... actually wanted to mention this too to help people early on but you did it first:messenger_beaming:

Huh, didn't expect this response tbh, since everyone I've seen who interacted with elastic goods has enjoyed the feature. It takes very little time, and it's fun visiting friends' ships and getting a ton of cash from buying low and selling high.

The thing with gear in this game is that all the attributes on the gear are fixed so no RNG bs. Once you reach the highest tier of gear you can produce, that's it. You never have to worry about the gearing aspect again. So I actually think the system fits the game well, considering how much of the core loop revolves around the factory. Making the gear available for purchase in overworld stores would remove a big incentive to engage with the factory at all since you can get good amounts of stock bills from the elastic market, delivery jobs, etc.

I was sure you didn't miss the importance of explosives for exploration, but I wanted to mention it just in case. ;p

Tbh, and this might sound like a bit of a rant, but I wish people playing the game were more active in the OT and shared the tips and things they've learned along the way. I told someone the same thing a few days ago when they DM'd me about Endfield stuff instead of posting it here. I'm not expecting wall‑of‑text write‑ups, just some casual participation. Share what you've done, what you've learned, any best‑practice advice, etc., since it helps keep the conversation going, and people reading the OT might pick up useful info they weren't aware of yet.

Is there actually a way to simply destroy unwanted goods that I have overlooked so far? For example, I have 11k of all plants, but my inner monk still triggers me to collect some every now and then ^^ - But in the AIC, I can't unload them, or only in small batches, because the warehouse is full. Am I overlooking something?

I'm kind of enjoying the factor stuff more now, but I wish there was a way to like, manage it all from one screen or something. Like just click and take you to one of your other bases. It is annoying to have to fast travel to a different one every time.
Also, what are you supposed to do with extra stuff? I was getting rid of some factories and belts I don't need any more, but then all the stuff they have goes into my inventory. The base is full though so I can't put them in there. I ended up just throwing them on the ground.

You can do WHAT?!:messenger_hushed:

I thought it's just going to be this menu thing with stuff you can sell or buy when the price is right but this... Daaaaamn, I'm unlocking Dijiang today.

Yeah, this is exactly why they did it and literally forcing people to do factory stuff. I don't have problem with fixed stats and all cuz as you said it's great and there's no RNG, but the way you need to get them is something I don't like cuz they're not giving people other ways of getting gear fast. I'm not even crafting gear for my chars cuz I don't want to waste resources on anything but gold, which is similar to what everyone should do in WuWa and get only 5* echos via leveling up echo data base. We'll see when I actually unlock golden gear for crafting, but until them I'm not crafting anything.

Yeah, there's not a lot of posts here unfortunately, probably cuz people tried the game and noped cuz of the hundreds of tutorials and factory. So I agree with you here, I'd love to see posts with tips and stuff, maybe even bluprints offers with working factories etc.

I really like how this game is not another Genshin/WuWa clone and concentrated on different style of gameplay

The only issue I have for now is crafting healing pills - I assume there is a factory late ronly, but for now I have to craft it myself and limit of 5 is kinda annoying, especially when crafting second tier meds

It's easy to setup and line will produce over 1000 of components overnight, more than enough to craft any number of gear
And good equip as always make things easier/faster

My bro, you were hating on the feature without even knowing all the systems tied to it. You're funny... :messenger_grinning_sweat: but yeah, you do have to visit other people's ships to sell the elastic goods you bought in your world. You can also give production assists, visit their trophy rooms where they display their favorite characters, weapons, and earned medals, and check out whatever character art they're showcasing on their home display. It's actually pretty fun, which is why I was surprised you were so reticent to unlock the feature.

Man, sorry to say it, but there's pretty much no chance they decouple the gearing system from the factory. At some point you'll have to produce the gear your characters need if you want to use them in harder content. And from everything I've been reading, these devs seem very set in their ways, so I doubt they'll pull a ZZZ‑style move (e.g. removing TV mode). Even if I'm wrong, a change like that will have big implications so it would take months or more to agree on it, and only if they see abysmal engagement with the factory from players who stuck with the game.

Yeah, we'll see if things pick up, but so far it looks like a lot of people try the game and drop it after a few hours. I'll try to share more interesting stuff I see from Endfield players as well.

I hope there's another amethyst node in the final sector of Valley4. I'm running on fumes. Why they gotta be so stingy with those specifically?! Luckily I think I'm winding down using amethyst (hopefully). I think the only thing I'm going to be making soon is buck capsule A.

Boss in that final sector of Valley 4 was the best fight in this game so far. That was really fun.

You can select a item from your backpack and pick "Discard". It will drop that item on the ground that will eventually disappear. I only found an option to destroy an item from the AIC storage.

So i heard this is like factorio with anime girls?
It's more like a factorio-lite. You're unable to build a sprawling complex as you are limited to a set grid that you can upgrade the size of over time. Although it's a mandatory feature, I wouldn't call it the main feature of the game. The game at its core is a action jrpg.

Female and male Endmin without the mask.

Also, you can take a peek without having to do any modding.

I like that about the game too, it's very different from your typical HoYo clones.

It's easy to setup and line will produce over 1000 of components overnight, more than enough to craft any number of gear

I'll give it a try when I unlock gold tier of crafting items.

My bro, you were hating on the feature without even knowing all the systems tied to it. You're funny... :messenger_grinning_sweat:
Well, it's not hate, it just reminds me of trading systems from X and Elite and I never was a big fan of that gameplay aspect - by low, sell for profit, it just a giant wasted of time to me, I much rather engage with fights and go through the story than die from boredom by playing as a trader.

but yeah, you do have to visit other people's ships to sell the elastic goods you bought in your world. You can also give production assists, visit their trophy rooms where they display their favorite characters, weapons, and earned medals, and check out whatever character art they're showcasing on their home display. I just did and it reminds of Elmo from GFL2 - you've armory there too where you can showcase weapons and stuff as well as buy decorations and unlock other features. Granted, GFL2 doesn't have social features at all, let alone player interaction beyond Platoon, but still. I really like the way they disigned the showcase room.

But,... like, it has to be a Normandy of the Arknights and we'll be able to travel to other planets in the future, go to different regions and stuff, it could be such a nice way to intro new regions and planets as well and let you travel back and forth on a galaxy map like in Mass Effect, see different cultures, maybe gather some mats, the possibilities are endless for what they can do with Dijiang. I was expecting locations like bars, store markets and stuff on different lvls cuz the station is huge, but there's not a lot of ground to cover there currently and I can only guess that they'll be adding things to Dijian gradually.

I'll try to share more interesting stuff I see from Endfield players as well.
Looking forward to this:messenger_relieved:

Looks like Hypergryph went pretty nuts with the launch marketing campaign in Asia, especially in China, which was expected. The adverts in their home city (Shanghai) seem to be the coolest though.

Now let's see Europe (I'm just meme-ing, btw)

So I managed to max out all three stock redistribution terminals in Valley 4 yesterday, and after logging in today, here's the profit I pulled in from elastic goods.

I then immediately put all that money to use and finished the remaining upgrades for the Valley 4 depot nodes. Good stuff!

I'm surprised people actually make my delivery requests, and usually promptly like within 5 minutes or so. I'll start investing into the depots as well now, I got some good profits from speculation and stock redistribution. Btw, is Laevatain's quest after chapter two, chronologically, or can you do it at any point in time? I care about that stuff.

What are elastic goods? Is that the stuff you buy in the shop that shows percent up/down for the day?

Yeah, seems these are really in demand. I've been trying to pick up delivery requests from different players over the past few days too, but they get grabbed way too fast. I finally managed to snag a couple today with a decent payout, though.
Btw, is Laevatain's quest after chapter two, chronologically, or can you do it at any point in time? I care about that stuff.
Tbh, I haven't checked yet, but I'm planning to do both Laevatain's and the wolf guy's story quests once I'm done with Wuling.

Yep, that's exactly what they are.

Hey, what actually happens if you fail or don't complete a defense mission for one of the outer bases? I'm in that situation right now—the option where the turrets defend without my help is just not feasible for me at the moment—which is probably also because I don't have any steel as a resource yet and therefore can't build the best guns (I've hardly paid any attention to the main story so far, focusing almost exclusively on the bases, factories, and infrastructure, and I can't get higher than level 40 yet).

Will they then lose a level (they are currently level 3/4) or what...?

Here are some of the commemorative illustrations Hypergryph commissioned from various artists that I've found on Twitter. This is probably known by everyone at this point, but you can also find them in‑game as they unlock when you get dupes, and you can display them in your ship.

Edit: I found a few more, but I'll post them separately later since there's a limit of 10 Twitter embeds per post, and I want to properly credit/link the artists' work.

I look forward to your social media share of some JP/CN dude with a maxed out constellation 5 Yvonne (or whatever Endfield calls the dupes).
Looks like one of the first players to hit max dupes for Yvonne is a Korean Endfield player. He's also AL 54.

Beat chaper1 boss
Warning was nice, didn't help much though. Died 3 times. That fucking boss can shave more than half HP in single attack and healing here is very weak compared to Genshin

Nothing happens. There's no major penalty nor is there a time frame as to when you complete it despite telling you it's urgent lol. You can take your time and complete it whenever. The only downside is your outpost may go into a compromised state (forgot what they name it) where you get less money or rep for selling items to them. I think its like 10% less or something like that.

I totally forgot about upgrading the scattered stock redistribute terminals until i was broke from upgrading the depot nodes lol. I rarely visit the stock terminals since you can just do it via the menu. Guess I gotta wait a day for some valley bills replenishment 😔

On the plus side, buck capsule A supply is booming since I re-did my factory.

What do you guys have being produced at each AIC site?
Buck Capsule B seems to be universally loved across Valley IV sites, so I'm making a ton of that, plus a now deprecated assembly line for level 50 gear parts. Oh, and a couple lines for Canned Citrome, love that stuff.

Ohh, new Yvonne story event dropped today.

the main hub site is making my recently upgraded buck capsule A lines (it was working well so I ctrl+c duped it so I got 2 main lines for that) and batteries to sell/store. Also I got a bunch of buck/sandleaf infinite loop farms there too. 2nd one is just a power plant (blue batteries to use in thermal banks). 3rd one is just a variety factory that makes whatever I'm needing. I might have some other stuff being made but I got sandleaf powder being made and steel parts and such for the battery production elsewhere. I think there's the power plateau outpost but haven't got to that yet.

I like it a lot, theres still some systems im not to sure about how they work but hey the factorio light system is fun.
Currently im lvl 52

I can already feel myself slowly losing interest in the game... The systems surrounding the factory and infrastructure development are nice, but I find the combat system and overall design to be rather average, and I'm already skipping the story. In any case, the whole thing is generating much less enthusiasm in me than ZZZ, which I will definitely stick with. Here, I'll probably finish the MSQ and then take a break for now.

I like how in this short clip I made with Laevatain, she turns around to see what's going on with the other party members. I appreciate these kinds of expressions since they give more interactivity to the character you're controlling.

Just finished the current story... and I was surprised at how abrupt it ended. I kinda expected it to end with a big bang, but it ended in complete silence. Not really an issue, as the story has been the weakest part of the game anyway. The first map was straight-up bad (Imo it was even worse than WuWa 1.0). Wuling got a bit better but it never became great. Though Wuling is still missing most of its story, so they have every chance to improve.

Not sure what to think about the game. It's has a hight production value and I enjoyed it a lot. I believe it's overall a really good game. That being said, I can also see myself getting burned out quickly.I'm already tired of doing all the daily stuff and it's been less than 2 weeks. Today I took the 3 highest-paid friend delivery jobs, ran the same route three times to deliver the goods, and asked myself: do I want to do that every single day in the future? And that's only one of the many things you have to do daily. They need to add QOL features to the game… and it has to happen quickly. Many people will drop the game because of the ridiculous amount of time it takes to do your dailies once the honeymoon phase is over. Nobody wants to run around the map collecting ship upgrade mats, run the same delivery routes, buy dozens of items from the shop without a bulk buy option, or trade/collect the same stuff each day… in addition to farming gear, weapon & character upgrade mats and in general spending your stamina.

Combat is decent but not on the level of WuWa/ZZZ. Combat hard-carried WuWa at release when everything else was mid or bad. It won't do that for Endfield, but it doesn't have to. Aside from the bad story, everything else was decent or good. The game looks and runs fantastic. I cannot emphasize enough how well the game runs. I have a pretty powerful PC. I can run Cyberpunk on max settings with 2000+ mods at a constant 60 fps, but both WuWa and ZZZ often have big fps drops. Endfield runs buttery smooth. I never felt my fps drop below 60. I love how detailled the character models look. In the end pulling for charcters is one of the main draws of gacha games so making them look that good is extremely important.

The factory stuff is basically a game within a game. It's certainly a bold decision to make it such a big part of the game and not just a minigame tacked on. It might work out for them or it might not (like ZZZ's TV mode). Though they tried to take into account the players who don't want to deal with it with the blueprint system. But imo it still will turn off a decent amount of players. But it might attract others, so no idea if it was a godo decision or not. I personally like it and it distinguishes Endfield from al the other 3d open world game.

I enjoy the sci-fi setting. I love having a big spaceship we can go back to and even customize a bit. I hope they add more options though. We need our own room and crew rooms.

I will do the endgame stuff and then decide if I drop the game or not. Right now it feels like too big of a time commitment for a daily game, so I'm not sure if I will continue playing it. It's basically between this and ZZZ for me. I have no interest in the upcoming child characters and ZZZ's story has been mostly dog shit in 2.x so Endfield came at the right time. But I'm not 100% convinced I want to invest money and time into it.

Well, I guess at this point I might as well go...
Congrats! Did you get her first copy from the 10 free pulls that don't count toward pity on her banner, and then this second one was the guarantee? I thought about going for her too, but I'm saving all my pulls for the 1.1 characters since I want at least two of them. I've got around 100 pulls saved so far without touching the premium currency (origeometry).

damn, i need a whole reorganization. My sites are just a hodge podge of random shit. I wish there was a way to see the total input of items I have even when they're not moving.

Just got my first production line of Buck Capsule A up and running. It was a pain getting the necessary ferrium ore yield to keep it going as it's in high demand for other stuff as well, lol.

I went from not wanting to pull for her to almost getting her P2, funny how things turn out:messenger_grinning_smiling:

So I got her in 58 by using regular pulls, but before that I used those free pulls which are not counted towards guarantee. Then I got my badass crusader Ember, after that I'm not even lost again but extremely happily won Last Rite and then got Lev P1 with another one waiting for me in just 10 pulls. Do you remember how long it took before I finally got Rina in ZZZ? It took for-effin'-ever, dude, and they still didn't lift her up potential-wise for me to use her regularetly in combat. I even remember the day when I got her and started using her a lot, and then during her personal trust event, she was so happy to find out about it...✋:messenger_loudly_crying:

....

:messenger_crying::messenger_pensive:

....

Well, anyway...:messenger_tears_of_joy:

Here's pull tracker so far (the other two standard weapon banners are not shown cuz I didn't get those sigs yet):

Speakin' of Last Rite. Man! You know me, I always play these games with Japanese VA after hearing ZZZs English VA (my ears simply can't stand it) and... Idk why, can't tell you, but with Endfield I decided to check the English VA. Can't say it's 100% perfect (the owl man gets on my nerves a lot cuz of the way he talks), but whoever is voicing Last Right is on effin' fire! Like, DAMN! Forget about her looks even, they effin' nailed her personality PERFECTLY! She's basically Zhezhi from WuWa but way more shy and awkward and everytime she says something I always want to hug her tight, pat her head and say - it's alright, ma icy princess, you did great! Even if you fail your ult or won't be able to lift your giant sword, I won't be mad at you!

195ec8f45c728b30e988b98764bd293c.gif

And Pogranichnik. What the hell, man! I said it before, but even his main character menu has so much personality, charisma and badassery! There's so much history on his face alone and we don't have his personal quest like the ones for limited characters? WTF? He even speaks Russian sometimes during his Ult and adds so much to the audio and visual impact! I love his combat a lot too, he's very quick with his attacks and reminds me of Qiuyuan from WuWa and his combat style with fast swings. He also plays really well with Ember - you can use his skills two times, life enemies, then use Ember's skill to smash them to the ground and finish them off with his Ult - it's so goddamn satisfying and never gets old. I really, really hope that we'll get Last Rite, Pogranichnik and Ember's personal stories in the future updates.

I already hit lvl 45, got all the rewards and still haven't seen other regions:messenger_tears_of_joy: Like, yeah, I know:messenger_grinning_squinting:, I need to get out of these boring and never ending "Hinterlands" and I think I'm close based on story progression and unlocked map. Built some stuff on Dijiang already to grow character progression mats and other stuff + spent like an hour plus to get the second camp to produce shit to them lvl it up - at first I tried to do everything there but the place is so small and cramped that I ended up erasing everything I did, do the main thing in the main map, offload everything from the main storage to just one thing in the second camp and that's it. Ugh, fuckin' hell, I want my wasted time back. Don't like all this factory crap at all and never will. But more on that later.

Finally unlocked the end game and... are they for real with this crap?

giphy.gif

I thought the end game in WuWa is crap (all of it), but this is on a whole other level of complete and utter incompetence, almost zero effort and fun put into it. So, what it is? Well, let me tell you and maybe then we can LOFAO together. So, you need a team to go there so it's standard, but what they did with the rest of what you do and how it works is insane!

1) Extremely convoluted lvl designs with lots of verticality, switches and ziplines, multiple path that lead to nowhere
2) It's incentivized to skip absolutely everything but the chests with rewards (if you find them and get them without triggering pointless fights)
3) You're always on a timer! So you'll be restarting this crap over and over and over and over and over and over again cuz of this!
4) You're always forced to start from the beginning to then go AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLL THE WAY BACK to where you got extracted while losing lots of time and you can't do shit about it!
5) There's no checkpoints at all to start you where you last been, you're not incentivizes to pick up anything along the way or you'll be extracted even faster and forced to do everything all over again.

What where they thinkiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiin'? What the hell is this crap and where's fun in it? How dumb and stupid you need to be to come up with shit like this with a serious face and then release it with 1.0? What the hell? I can't believe what I've seen and experienced just now. The absolute worst endgame mode in gachas I've ever seen and even Gunsmoke in GFL2 now looks like a fun experience in comparison. Like, yeah, you can do some missions to up the time for exploration, but it doesn't matter cuz the entire thing is absolute dog shit and crap and needs to be removed from the game and completely reworked. Fuckin' lol, ma dudes ✋:messenger_tears_of_joy: But it's just the first end game mode, there's another one which I'm yet to unlock but after seeing what they did with the first one.... :messenger_grinning_squinting:

Oh the aberrant crap? Yeah it's dogshit. I see the "coming soon" tab right next to it so hopefully the next thing is better. Is that even considered the endgame mode though? You unlock it pretty early and from what I gathered trying it out a few times, once you get the oroberyls from the progression path you are done.

Regardless though, my version of the endgame (not that I'm even there yet; just now going to wuling) is just gonna be spending sanity and doing those things to level up operators, weapons, skills etc.

Made a bit more progress today at the main hub in Valley 4 by adding an HC Battery Factory for purple batteries (top‑right corner in the screenshot). I'll have to rebuild some of the stuff I have at the sub‑PAC from Valley Pass and switch it over to producing purple batteries too, since it's currently set up for blue ones. Once that's done, I'll start placing mining rigs on the Power Plateau after I unlock the sub‑PAC in that region, which is also the last one I still need to unlock for Valley 4.

Lol, I switched to purple batteries today too, except while adding additional belts I fed the wrong stuff to the grinding unit and then went to do something else. Came back to -2k power. Thank fock I had 600 green batteries lying around in storage, enough to kickstart the whole grid for the purple ones to reach the generator, otherwise I'd have an early Christmas powering all the shit down just to get into positives.

Some of these JP gacha players are quite the wordsmiths, lol.

Also, one of the JP guys I follow seems to have really enjoyed Yvonne's story that was added to the game a couple of days ago. Gotta get around to doing the character quests this coming week. Oh, and I cleared the Wuling story bits yesterday, and it's a significant step‑up from Valley 4 in both presentation and storytelling, IMO. Wuling City and its surrounding area are also really fun to explore.

Annnnnd... im out. lol

Gotta say it was a pretty good effort, the things this game does good are triple A quality good, visuals, performance, music, good synergy with diferent gameplay mechanics, etc. But at the end of the day this is a gacha game ruined by gacha mechanics. If you gonna lock your characters and weapons behind low drop rate slot machines, then im out.

I just reached a point in the game mediocre story, that made me realize how much better this game would have been without locking the character behing a gacha. So i beat the chapter 1 final boss, pretty cool fight, and then i go make some side missions and i find Ardelia and shes is talking to me like its the 1st time we meeting. Thing is they gave Ardelia in a login thing and i have been playing with her in my team since the beginning, so all this little piece of story with Ardelia introducing herself would have been much cooler if it was implemented like a traditional single player RPG where she would join my team after this story bit. But since this is a gacha, fuck the story cuz we designing everething around gacha.

These gacha games really need to stop monetizing things that are essential for gameplay and enjoyment (Characters/weapons) and need to start using cosmetics exclusevely for monetisation. Ananta promissed to do that by making all characters unlockable through story progression, while using the monetization for cosmetics. Cant wait for it, and hope it shakes the gacha world to the point future gachas will follow that example.

For the ones still enjoying the game... have fun!
