Trails beyond the Horizon |OT| Farewell, O Zemuria... or not

Kevin Route Part 2. So the professor used the Alter Core to get the water from the future basically. She also mentions a Grand Reset, uh oh. Nina seems to be OP, I wonder if she will be pit against the Grandmaster at some point.

Make Yorda smile!
Always.

[/SPOILER]

In future games perhaps, but in the current plotline, the two aren't necessarily on opposing sides.

As someone who's die-hard Falcom fan since playing Ys's shitty master system port decades ago, I am on the verge of reaching Kiseki saturation. Daybreak II went absolutely nowhere and the same 5 shounen tropes that they recycle every single fricking game ("All is lost!" ~~ "BUT NO! Awesome character from 2 games ago comes in for the save!") are wearing me thin.

I agree with you in that Daybreak II was probably the weakest Trails game in a long while. It's probably my least favorite since CSII. However, I think Horizon was a return to form and easily the best game in the Calvard series. There are a ton of old returning characters from previous games in Horizon, and I think they did a decent job mixing it up so that they're not all introduced via the trope you mentioned.

I just finished TitS 1st Chapter last week and enjoyed it, so I started this game since DQ7r isn't out yet, and man... The prologue and first chapter are dragging. Not because they are bad exactly, but because it feels like the same exact things I did in Daybreak 1 and then 2. I am confident it will be good eventually, but this is the third time now in the same places doing the same thing with minor differences. And good God, that streamer girl... Did they not see the backlash to Borderlands 3 antagonists? Why devs actually go and pick a highly annoying archetype and think "this is good" is beyond me.

I liked Daybreak 2 but I agree to an extent. Good thing is the fan base largely felt the same and I think Falcom understood people are done being strung a long. They said they are taking a break because the team is worn out but I think it's to give them more time to figure out how they want to wrap up this story and how many games to do it in.

I really enjoy the combat in these games though so whatever they do after this I hope they just sort of copy and paste this into whatever their next game is.

Van Route Part 4 and 5 could have been condensed in a single part tbh. Not sure which route to choose next, maybe I will continue with Van since it's the earliest in the timeline.

She's highly annoying due to the over the top LOLcalization, her dialogue is basically unreadable. Her original Japanese dialogue is way more tame from the little I can understand, she's still meme-ing but not so much.

EDIT: Started Van Route 6 and it will be tough without Agnès and Renne, they are my hard carry Art users.

Put in a ton of time this past weekend. Was able to make it to act 3 and most of Van's route. I'm at the end of the route but need to go back to the Grim Garten (6th) and then the final dungeon for Van's route. Really enjoyed Rean's route so eager to get back there but not sure I'll be able to tonight and after tonight I'm pretty much done until Friday night.

Final dungeon bgm is in my opinion one of the best final dungeon themes in the series tied with spiral of erebos in cold steel 3

Van Route Part 6. Damn, lots of revelations here. Between the discussion with Harwood and the route end cutscene there is a lot to think about. I was always thinking about that scene in the early game where Van sees Agnès at Trion Tower, she might have used the Alter Core to get there maybe? And in the 4SPG about the book they talk about "the other Agnès", hmm. So the Vestiges are preparing a contingency for whatever is gonna happen after the rocket launch, didn't see it coming that all of this was carried out on Hamilton's order.

By the way that accessory you get for doing the book 4SPG gives you +50 CP per turn. Too bad only Agnès can use it...

Wasted opportunity not recording Judith singing in that mini event inside the bar, come on Falcom.

EDIT: Also we finally get some much needed backstory regarding a certain silver haired combat freak. That connect event was pretty good.

I'm not listening to that yet, but since it's by Jindo I know it's gonna be an absolute banger.
