Controllers |OT| It's the Hall-Effect Life!

That's a nice looking controller but IIRC it only has digital triggers since it's designed primarily for FPS.

The Alpakka 2 looks ineresting too but by the time it's out, the Steam Controller probably is too. At this point, I'm just waffling between getting a Dualsense Edge and buy modded TMR modules or go with the Hex Gaming Phantom. But I kind of wanted an xinput controller because some games don't work properly on the DualSense like Detroit.
You could buy an used DualSense Edge. I'm thinking the same actually if that Gulikit brakes.

New thumbsticks are cheap, I can also wash it with wet wipes after previous owner, and sometimes its off more than 50% compared to new one.

And the mod shop I would be dropping it for an TMR swap has all the other replacement parts, like paths and buttons and stuff.

Plus it works supposedly with 5-6ms latency and 750hz with that Hyperlink 2 dongle. And I think it will use Xinput through it.

What I'm really looking for but can't find are pre-modded DS Edge with bigger batteries. Yes I could probably install one myself but I'm lazy. There are so many modders that take orders for fully customized regular DualSense but don't see any for Edge

Maybe search in bigger cities, under DualSense and PS5 repairs.

There's a one shop I found in my country, and they mostly talk about repairs.

But then there is a list of controllers, and they actually do Edge and install Hall Effect and TMR modules for both regular DualSense and Edge. But that already falls under modding to me, lmao.

I bet if I asked the guy to put in the bigger battery, he would do it.

And I can send the controller to them from what I have initially talked with them. And my friend has send in both of his regular DualSense's so I know they are legit.

Good point about trying local. There's a hobby shop nearby that can probably do it if I bring them the parts.

So far so good on the Gamesir G7 Pro. And it came with a code for a month of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which actually worked! $30 right there.
You can try to make sticks more linear.

This made me fully enjoy the controller, I was sensitive to its non-linearity.

I also jumped yesterday between G7 Pro, Gulikit TT Max and ES Pro.

And I have to say, G7 Pro seems the most comfortable to me, followed Gamesir Super Nova and then by ES Pro and TT Max is the last in terms of comfort.

They made the TT Max slightly bigger and wider than ES Pro, and I have a feeling it has slightly different shape of the grip, might be due to those haptic motors they use instead of regular rumble.

Edit: if Gamesir ever releases Super Nova 2 with improved TMR sticks and lower latency, I'm grabbing it for sure.

And I have a feeling new Tarantula models could be better than both TT Max and Pro 3 from 8bitdo. Definitely in terms of quality, that's for sure.

I'm kinda intrigued

This looks like the thing pro fighting game players would use in old age to keep enjoying the game, but not aggravate their wrecked carpel tunnel hands. Not sure I'd lay down money for it, but I'd like to demo it at least to see if it still fun to play like that.

That orange-colored variant looks great.

Look what arrived today! 8bitdo 64 in retro colours.
Also with Ultimate 2 for comparison.

Haven't had a chance to use yet, but I will report back when I have. Amazon UK says its in pre-order phase until the end of March, so this isn't too bad.

Looks like GameSir has another G7 Pro 8K planned. Haven't really played any of the Nioh games, but I do like the designs they do for these souls-likes games, since I spent the extra for the older Wuchang version.

As a stickler for premium materials, I've unfortunately found the vast majority of popular Chinese controllers to be shit in that regard. In regards to ergonomics/functionality/actual build quality many of them are great, but when it looks cheap and ugly on my desk, I just can't jive with it.

  • GameSir - feels/looks cheap
  • FlyDigi - not as cheap as GameSir, but feels/looks cheap
  • BIGBIGWON - feels/looks exceptionally cheap
  • Mobapad - feels/looks super cheap
  • EasySMS - another cheap looking/feeling controller
  • 8BitDo - now we're getting somewhere. Pretty solid
  • Gulikit - not bad! similar to 8BitDo
  • Nintendo - again, pretty solid. half step up from 8bitdo/Gulikit
  • Microsoft - really good. materials feel nice
  • Asus - really good. good feel and solid aesthetics
  • Razer - excellent. premium looks and feel all around
  • Sony - excellent. premium looks and feel all around

If you have DualShock 1 and 2 laying around, you can now connect them to your PC or PS4 and PS5 with this new Brook converter.

Astray Astray

Already mentioned:
Let's you connect any controller to PS5.

Edit: Dropped it under notable posts. As I think this info should be in main post.

I'm thinking about buying all Nioh games since I really liked Rise of The Ronin. Katana Engine has it's shortcomings but I liked the parry feeling in RoTR the most so far- I think it was even better than Lies of P. Fingers crossed since it's another Team Ninja game and same Engine that parry system will be enjoyable.

I just might consider buying this version of G7 Pro and selling mine Xbox one, since the Aimlabs one didn't really capture my attention design wise and this one seems to look actually badass. Also it helps that I love any type of Ninja/Shinobi and Kung-fu content, since I was little I basically watched and played anything including Tenchu 1. But I think we all had our Ninja phase back in the day, lmao.

Grabbed the Wuchang G7 Pro a few weeks back and I am really liking this controller. I want to order the Zenless Zone Zero one for a backup and I don't even play that game, but I dig the design! From $99-$130 price range I do not think they can be beat. The only thing to see yet is the durability. Overall, pretty impressed.
