I need to finish my second Nioh 2 run before I dive into Nioh 3. Just got to the dream. Hopefully mods for Nioh 3 reworking others for the same engine will make it a more pleasant experience when I hop in.
The Nioh games were already known for offering tons of weapons choices, plus a variety of stances to change up the pace of combat. Thanks to a new Ninja form, Nioh 3 outright doubles the number of weapon choices. That makes 14 total weapons you can wield, which can be a tough choice. This video will break down how each one functions, plus name a few core stats and skills to really showcase what it can do.
Yeah, it'd definitely easier and being a completionist makes it even more so. On one hand I want to run from mission to mission so I take them on at a reasonable challenge, on the other I have an innate need to completely clear an area before I leave. It's probably my only real issue with the game at this point, but I'm hoping the NGs bring the challenge back. I'm 7 zones in and by far the hardest enemy has been the Bloodedge Demon.Loving the game, but man, it's easy
On one hand I get it, the first playthrough should be harder. On the other, Nioh diehards know that the first playthrough is basically pre-season ball. There is so much in terms of items, enemies, mechanics, and just overall changes in gameplay that a person who only beats it one time is basically playing a completely different game. Saying you should judge Nioh by it's first playthrough is a very casual look at this series because it's not just "icing on the cake" it's core to the experience of the series and isn't just tacked on like most games, it's literally designed to be played multiple times.I have the Nioh 2 plat and was one trophy away from the Nioh plat, I've championed this series since it's inception. It didn't take NG+ to get a sense of challenge in either Nioh 1 or 2, they were hard as nails from the start with with the sense of danger and overcoming odds that is a hallmark of all Souls-likes. FROM's "one and done" experiences are better than 99% of the games out there so I really couldn't care less how much NG+ has to offer. In fact, I care very little for NG+ in general because very few devs do it right and once you've seen the game you've seen the game. So while Nioh does do a good job of NG+ games are to be judged what they offer beginning to end on the initial playthrough, anything after that is icing on the cake.

The lake region? Still piss easy. I beat that panther boss without breaking a swear. The second region properly ups the difficulty. First region was joke level
I think they need to be more aggressive with the level scaling. It's like they set it for people who don't do any side content. The second region recommends level 19, but I was level 33 by the time I got there and destroying everything. Should have been level 25 or something.I'm enjoying it, but not gonna lie... The game being so easy has me pretty disappointed. So far the hardest boss has been the first boss and everything afterwards has been pretty easy.
Hopefully the challenge picks up a bit later.
doubt it, I barely use ninja, I just smash everything to bits with samurai, and they can't hurt me cause I can just block or deflect them; I mostly am in ninja when walking around because of enemy sensor.Ninja is a cheat code. I feel like an endgame Nioh 2 Ninja build already. I will be shocked if it doesn't get nerfed.
Fine, yes indeed, but it is massively easier compared to the first two games bro cmon.Difficulty feels fine, there's a few moments I been hung up but a few tries I get by. I'm glad they went with a more middle road, I did enough ball busting games platinumed already it's nice to enjoy the game and not be frustrated

I mean you can do with any RPG including the first Dark Souls....in fact the only FROM you couldn't do was Sekiro and Armored core VI because those games weren't RPG.Since this is not open-world or semi-open world, does it suffer from the same thing as ER? Meaning you can outlevel the enemy if you do everything or grind?
There is no grind in Elden Ring though.I mean you can do with any RPG including the first Dark Souls....in fact the only FROM you couldn't do was Sekiro and Armored core VI because those games weren't RPG.
Open world has nothing to do with, any RPG linear or not as long as it has leveling up system you can grind and become overlevel.
you can grind if you want just like most RPGs but you don't need it to beat the game. There is no grind in Elden Ring though.
One just moves to a different area with easier enemies.
I am thankful that this game doesn't have level scaling.Since this is not open-world or semi-open world, does it suffer from the same thing as ER? Meaning you can outlevel the enemy if you do everything or grind?
The panther that flies from tree to tree? That's still first region. The lake region? Still piss easy. I beat that panther boss without breaking a swear.

Not disagreeing with you, but I'd argue that in FROM's games there tends to be very deliberate grind spots which are intentional.you can grind if you want just like most RPGs but you don't need it to beat the game.
Of course it's not a bug, at end of the of FROM's Souls games are RPGs which give you the option for you to grind if you want. Not disagreeing with you, but I'd argue that in FROM's games there tends to be very deliberate grind spots which are intentional.
From Darkroot garden in DS1 to the Palace ledge-road in Elden Ring its always seemed to me that these areas are known early as grind spots, and never get patched or modified. Says to me definitely a feature, not a bug.
It has a different name and a higher level requirement. The panther that flies from tree to tree? That's still first region.
I'm digging the new time period after Act 1 though I'm endlessly amused that 90% of the enemies continue to be recycles from Nioh 1 & 2, lazy stuff. Luckily the combat is so damn good that I can give it a pass. Act 2 also opens up a cool mechanic that returns from both previous games, won't spoil it for those who are playing the series for the first time.
The enemies are yokai and there are thousands of them. It's very much lazy of them to recycle the same few.The enemies are types based on folklore and traditional depictions. So its less a case of them being recycled than being appropriate to the scenario.
I really think people under-appreciate TN's commitment to being historically consistent - at least in a canonical sense.
Yes its a fantasy version of Japanese history, but its quite clear at this point that they care about how they thread the fantasy through actual historic figures and legends.
Its not like most Souls games where they just take Mediaevel Europe as a base visual template for a dark fantasy story and just invent lore and enemies as they need them. Its all tightly focussed on a super-specific Japanese template.
I don't think they get enough credit for this, as I think its a big reason why their games are so different to most Souls-likes.

I've been in Japan 16 years now but thanks anyway lmao
Exactly what he said, do some more research![]()
Can I move with you?

And ? being resident in a country doesn't automatically make you a historical expert!
Or apparently have the wit to parse a qualifying clause from a statement of opinion about general creative direction.
Take that stick out of your tightly-puckered butthole, son.
Seriously, I really don't get why you felt the need to cop such a shitty attitude in reply to a mild post about creative intention.
lol, don't get your pantyhose in a bunch sweetheart, you've quoted me twice now and embarrassed yourself just as many times, maybe 3rd times the charm before you realize just how dumb you are? I've got all kinds of sticks for your asshole, keep pushing, it's making me hard
You don't need to keep white-knighting the game, it's kind of pathetic. You can love something (as I love Nioh 3) and still give valid criticisms/point out it's flaws, try it sometime![]()
Lol. What's with the nuclear bomb, it literally came out of nowhere. You're perhaps even worse than melol, don't get your pantyhose in a bunch sweetheart, you've quoted me twice now and embarrassed yourself just as many times, maybe 3rd times the charm before you realize just how dumb you are? Level 48 region 1 with about 20% left.I am level 41 and I am still in the first region. How is your progress going so far?
The map exploration is top notch. I am loving it and transmog along with automatically equipping best gear is a relief. I am loving not looking like a clown because of the constant gear change

Exploration is great reminds me of dark souls more than anything. It's great how interconnected everything is, the map kinda ruins the thrill of connecting everything by yourself.
I was around lvl 68 when i finished the first region i thinkI am level 41 and I am still in the first region. How is your progress going so far?
