Old Games You Want Rebooted

Have you ever looked at your younger days or just remembered games that were never really popular or even games that were poorly recieved but for you they were fun or interesting as a kid? My list would be too big quite frankly but here is one PS1 title that released in 1996 that I wouldn't mind if the a similar idea or concept was to be revisited in a modern day.

It's a game called Firo and Klawd where you played as animals in somewhat of an isometric view. It was an action co-op shooter and you and your friend could play together as either of the characters at the same time.

Firo is a police/cop orangutan meanwhile Klawd is a criminal who stole counterfeit money and worked for a crime syndicate. Firo captured Klawd because of the bounty on his head and now they are both forced to take down the crime syndicate.

I believe the game generally wasn't very well recieved. But as a kid you didn't care about those things and I was 6 years old at the time. The games were either fun or not for you. However, even if the game was generally poorly recieved that didn't mean it didn't have good ideas.

An action co-op game where you played as an animal and fought criminal animals just seems like a goofy but fun idea. Games like that don't really exist these days. Here is some gameplay footage, obviously its super dated but its nostalgic to me lol.

Timesplitters - Timesplitters 3 which was the one I played rivaled even Halo 2 during that time
Xenosaga - great JRPG
Extermination - a nice PS2 Resident Evil type of game
RLH - the Dead Space before Dead Space
The Thing - there definitely needs to be more official The Thing game. Can't believe it didn't happen yet as it's a gold mine.
Oni - badass chick kicking ass
Soul Reaver - never actually beat it as a kid but knows it's a cool ass story setting.

- Aliens Vs Predator: I have no idea how or why we haven't seen a new one yet. It'd be awesome to have a new iteration that kind of combines all the AVP games as each one had its strong points. A blend of them could be great.
- Blood: Another great and awesome IP that continues to get remasters, but it'd be so awesome to have a new iteration. We don't have enough action & horror FPS games these days.
- Splatterhouse: I've loved this IP since I was a kid, the attempted reboot that came to 360 and PS3 was..... fine, but not what I personally wanted honestly. I would've much rather preferred something that was darker and grittier. I get the whole tongue in cheek camp direction they went in, but I think they leaned into it a biiiiit too much. So, I'd love to see another go. Honestly, I'd love to see Splatterhouse play like a Souls-like, I can see it!
- Star Wars Jedi Knight / Jedi Outcast: One of the absolute best Star Wars game series out there, I have no idea how this hasn't been revisited yet, but it'd be amazing to see that gameplay brought to modern engines and gameplay mechanics.
- Quake: Overdue, give us a proper Lovecraftian inspired iteration that also flexes a campaign, coop, and multiplayer.

Honestly, yeah. It'd be great to have a new Duke Nukem, it really would. Especially a very solid iteration. I just know it'll never happen as the IP is just rotting behind Gearbox's walls. Which really sucks. I feel like with the state of the games industry and the state of the world, we could really use a ridiculous game overflowing with satirical comedy and over the top nonsense. It'd be so good.

A new Duke game would absolutely hit right now, there's so much ripe satirical material out there it practically writes itself.
You're right, though. Gearbox isn't going to do anything with the IP. It's going to sit buried in their vault while Randy Bitchford keeps cranking out Borderlands games.

Not sure how they'd make a new Duke Nukem without incurring the wrath of the Blue Sky Blue Hairs, Ion Fury felt like the spiritual successor and they still tried to cancel that over a joke on a shampoo bottle.

That's not old games - PS2 - but I would like Xenosaga remasters/remakes. First part was only NTSC and I missed 2&3 those days.
Besides Sakaguchi's The Last Story - Wii.

Probably a hot take, but this one right here never got a true sequel. GTA 3 was like a chest-burster coming out of its dead body under the roaring applause of graphics-tech-appreciating-crowd.

A new Thunderforce or Panzer Dragoon Saga game! Or a new Gunstar Heroes that is done with bonkers graphics and explosions. Yes, I am a Sega fan from way back.

JK2 and JKA was definitely on my mind too in recent months, it'd be so good to bring that series back.
