I am glad people like this but I dont see the appeal. This game was supposed to be a game about exploration, finding weird things and having a sense of discovery. When I try these updates, I have a list of mundane grinding things to do to keep me busy but they feel hollow

I dont know if its just me but I feel like these guys are focusing on the wrong things to improve the game

I finally bought this game on sale, but haven't loaded it up yet.

One day Ill load up a 6 hour podcast and try it out.

It's nice and everything, but where is Light No Fire Sean?
That's kind of where I'm at. And I hope that game has an actual purpose and fun gameplay. NMS can be fun, but it really matters how much fun you have to create for yourself. NMS is like Minecraft, imo. They're deep with giving the players creative things to do and build, but shallow is raindrop when it come to actual gameplay.

One of my most played games. I love it so much and the free updates never end.

Playing it in VR is one of the most relaxing things you can do, it's so good.

Legendary game :messenger_smiling_with_eyes:

I've tried multiple times and get about 20 minutes in and get tired of the crafting. I need an interesting story push to go explore and the game just isn't being developed that way so it's not for me.

Significantly improved the visual stability and performance of clouds, and enhanced their appearance, especially on lower quality settings.

Enabled multi-threaded rendering on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, significantly improving GPU performance.
Implemented tiled lighting, significantly improving performance in environments with many individual lights, and fixing a number of minor flickering issues.
Made a number of performance improvements to deep space and planetary environments.
Implemented a number of memory-saving optimisations.
Implemented a significant performance optimisation in settlements.
Implemented a significant performance optimisation for big save games which have completed a large number of missions.
Good stuff

I was one of the ones who preordered No Man's Sky and bought into the hype. I was one of the first people to experience the colossal letdown when the stuff they promised wasn't actually in the game. I shit-talked No Man's Sky to anyone who cared, because the expectation did not remotely match the reality.

But then the developers did something insane. They admitted the screwed up, and they kept giving free update after free update to fix their screwup. It took time, but they finally made the game a great game to play. I'm thrilled I got to experience that. Most of the time developers who colossally screw up like that will give up on the product and move on.

Very rarely does a developer mess up this bad, and then fix their mistake. It's akin to Cyberpunk 2077, and it's awesome when developers take ownership for an expensive mistake, and then they make it right.

Snowrunner in space!

I still haven't caught up with the last five updates :messenger_crying:

I wish my old man could see this, I think it was his most played game, and that was version 1.0. This stuff would've made his head implode.

How overwhelming this game is gonna be with all those expansions for someone who never played it and wants to do it now for the first time?

I've been playing it for years and I genuinely believe the new onboarding process is the definition of the word tedium.
It forces you to do lots of different stuff before even giving you the chance to leave the planet, which is the entire point of the game.

So yeah it can be quite a bit overwhelming I feel, but more because of how poorly the first few hours are set up.

It keeps giving me numerous reasons to play but the same reason not to....its just unfocused and boring after an hour or two.
Agreed.
I kinda wish they've moved the devs off this and over to Light No Fire.
NMS has had plenty of updates over the years and we've not had much news about Light No Fire in a while.
