Nintendo Goes DMCA on Switch Emulation

Nintendo fanboys are the only ones who don't see how badly Nintendo abuses them.

MK World is ÂŁ75 for the physical copy in the UK and ÂŁ66 for digital. I got it bundled with my Switch 2, so I didn't pay it, but I will admit the price increase is insane. MK8 on the Switch launched at ÂŁ49.99. A ÂŁ25 increase for a sequel to the same game is insane.

However, I am a Nintendo slut.

I can't help myself.

I've tried leaving Nintendo. I just can't do it. Their games are my comfort zone. If they charge ÂŁ75 for the next 3D Mario, Zelda etc then I'll complain and still pay it.

I will never understand people simping for corporations and defending anti-consumer practices but I guess there are a lot of weird things in this world that science still doesn't have an explanation for.

Maybe they are holding Nintendo stocks or are employed by the company in some way. That would explain such levels of shilling.

I think it's possible to look at this situation and be disappointed without going crazy over it. I personally think it's definitely an overreach and I just don't really care to buy any Nintendo stuff again (yet haha).

At the same time, it is also pretty silly to defend Nintendo like some cult fanboy. You can still be a Nintendo consumer and be critical of their policies.

That's Sony

If you want to have a good laugh:
These are my favorite ones:
The argument of "they run so bad I HAVE TO emulate them" is funny when the Switch 2 is now out and eliminates that problem for the most part.
Why would I rip my legally bought Switch games to emulate on PC for higher FPS and resolution when I can just instead spend $450 on a console just for the purpose of playing these BC titles that may or may not perform better?
tbh I'd thought a gaming entusiast forum would actually want to support the developers creating the games they like.

Whereas it seems like lots of people resent the companies making the games. Then do everything possible to minimise the amount you spend on it, and then attempt to argue in favour of an emulator developer who was facilatiting piracy of these games.

I don't think its strange to rather a game do as well as possible and see a sequel to the game. Than to care for some rando wanting to emulate it on their 8K monitor or whatever.
80M Mario Kart 8 Deluxe copies sold, this is what you're worrying about. Also, equaling emulation to piracy again.

The hilarious thing is that Switch 1 emulation will never cease to exist no matter how much Nintendo keeps seething about it.
