Xenoblade Chronicles X - Switch 2 Edition Trailer (Upgrade available now for $5 for existing owners; Physical release on April 16)

literally bought the game right away

see what 60fps "4k" does?

HELL YES

Now to XC 2 + 3

Do we know if physical is actually on cart or just a key card? I'd probably trade in my OG Switch one if the former

That buttery smooth 60FPS!

That's cool, hopefully they also update 2 and 3. They are 2 beautiful games that just suffer from horrendous image quality.
2 definitely needs it the most. Handheld mode looks fucking nasty. IIRC for handheld mode it uses all the same graphical settings as docked, and just dynamically adjusts the resolution to hit 30 FPS. It's so bad.

A lot of Switch 1 games could use an IQ and FPS upgrade.

XBC2, XBC3, Yoshi's Crafted World, Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity, Bayonetta 3, Pikmin 3, Pikmin 4, Pokken Tournament, the list is long..

I can't wait to try this!

I vividly remember what it looked like before and it was good enough to play through. I'm so glad I waited, though.
waiting seems to always be the right option these days hahah

Honestly, I might not even be that big of a Xenoblade fan if this this one feels different from all the others. I seem to like this one the most.

i said fuck it and took the plunge cuz now I KNOW they're doing a 60fps patch for these titles eventually

lol there are a lot of game mechanics to remember

melee/ranged swaps, positioning, remembering how combos work, aggro healing?... oh yeah and i have mechs

half tempted to start over but that's a lot of hours to give up

i'm not high enough level for the next story mission... i think there's enough missions here to level up though

Yeah, I might just start over.

I was only 2hrs or so in when i dropped it waiting for a Switch 2 patch and i forgot what's going on, so i'm definitely starting over.

Yup.
And then to try to compensate for the super low resolution they put some horrible looking sharpening filter on it too.

Trying it out now and it's a night and day difference. Wow. Feels like a different game with 60FPS.

Now granted this is an old ass game, this is finally a definitive way to play it!
i never could play it before @ 30fps because I'm playing on an OLED and I can swear 30fps on OLED feels so, so much worse

Same here! The low resolution was such an eyesore, but the framerate looked terrible. Just wasn't enjoyable at all.

I almost played this exclusively in handheld mode. I'm glad my brain went "naaaah" lol

YES!!! This. Is. What. I'm Talking. About.
I mentioned in a previous thread that all I ever wanted out of the Switch 2 was upgrades to the entire Xenoblade series and that alone would be justification for already buying a Switch 2. The new shit coming out is just a bonus. This is a great start.

most unexciting thing about S2 is playing the thought of playing Switch games again at higher settings.

Happy for those for whom this is the greatest thing ever.

It's physical.

None of the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition releases are key cards since they also have to work on the switch 1. The switch 1 edition + the upgrade are on the cart.

Just upgraded and played abit on switch 2 docked. Anyone can confirm the resolution handheld? Is it 1080p 60 fps handheld?

I rarely play my switch 2 handheld cos I hate how the display looks

I played this last year and it took like 90 hours to finish, I'm not in a huge hurry to replay the game just yet.

That being said, I'll definitely be picking up that physical release
