Well, tell her to get the entire Bridgerton audience to watch this show or it's DOA, I think.
It's already been greenlit for a second season

ooph, we call that "good money after bad" where I'm fromIt's already been greenlit for a second season
Holy shit.
No! Really? This is AI, right? Right!?
This, there is absolutely no way this is not some sort of massive tax scam or someone is actively trying to sabotage someone or something else with this turd. Even with Hollywood "meritocracy, but we nepo babies" this is too blatant.Screw the Epstein files, I think we need people to look into what shenanigans are going on at Paramount.

I agree. And if they just had the balls to move past the Mariner/Boimer characters and explore more interesting ones, it could have served as a springboard for all sorts of cool Trek adventures. I feel like they specific marching orders to keep it overly silly and trite to avoid competing with the live action shows and only in the last season were they unleashed to REALLY show what animated Trek can do, much like the OG animated show.It kills me that Lower Decks stopped at 5 seasons. It cost about 20% of what any of the Nu-trek live action stuff cost per episode and actually was a net positive for the IP. What a waste.
This is spot on.IMDB says this is the worst Star Trek ever besides the Section 31 disaster. 4.3 rating.
I would rank them:
Lower decks
huge gap
Strange New Worlds (except for this last season which was awful I thought)
huge gap
Picard 3
Discovery seasons 1 and 2
huge gap
Picard seasons 1 and 2
Discovery last few seasons
then (the ones I couldn't even watch after a while)
Starfleet Academy
Section 31
Answering the important question of yeah sure Vulcan ears are pointy but what else? All this Star Trek talk got me watching Enterprise again. Great show with something for everyone.

The Trek skant on men was ALWAYS a terrible idea, and this skirt thing is just as bad. Male anatomical design looks ATROCIOUS in such a garb and really, even shapely women are not great in it.

This design could have been massively improved with one simple change: a belt around the waist. US Marine dress uniforms look sharp as hell, and the belt is the key element that makes the whole thing work.
That poor fucker at the top is just in a gaddamn dress.Goddamn that thing makes me so mad.

They could have gone with the long formal jacket over trousers

or even an appropriate length kilt with the appropriate accessories to make it look more masculine

but damn they wanted that guy to look as gay as possible.
The belt does set it off. As you become an NCO and then Staff your belt buckle changes to the EGA and then a wreath under it for Staff. This design could have been massively improved with one simple change: a belt around the waist. Agreed. Martial elements add masculinity (as we understand it now). This design could have been massively improved with one simple change: a belt around the waist. US Marine dress uniforms look sharp as hell, and the belt is the key element that makes the whole thing work.

Clearly there was some serious puffery back in the day with shit like this

but even then, in 'real life' they don't look too bad versus a painting

but of course you would need an actor who is masculine, which the jay-den one most certainly is not.
For sure, defenders will just use the "but but the skant!" to dismiss criticisms of a terrible characterAnd lets be honest that character was clearly intentional to not be masculine at all, skirt included. No amount of "hey we had this in past" will ever come to justify this thing.

The only thing that makes sense is that 'legacy' Star Trek is such a cash cow in syndication that they can afford to waste $$$ on nu-trek just to act as a ESG counterpoint to all their other content. So nu-Trek is kinda like a carbon emission credit sinkhole against all their traditional coal burning plants.God damn, why is all the new trek so bad. Paramount is complained about their own content and needed to acquire new content ala WB.
Why the hell, can they not fix the legacy IP they already have.

Oh we are back! We are so back!
I think he hired staff with no experience in ANYTHING.Show sounds hilariously bad. Gay Klingon dude in a skirt. LOL
Supposedly, Kurtzman hired staff who dont have experience with the older ST shows. lol
I only read and heard streamers say how bad it is and images of the gay Klingon dude in womens clothes. So I checked YT for a clip and found this instead (my quick shitty search skills couldnt find a clip of him in a dress). I wanted to see first hand the silliness of a tough and rumble Klingon.I think he hired staff with no experience in ANYTHING.
Though I suppose the production crew knows their stuff, they just get notes that say "lens flare, lens flare, camera shake, camera shake!", shrug, and cash them checks.

Give it time.I just watched this whole AI fan fic episode. It's janky as hell, pretty poor AI work honestly, but still very interesting to watch.
This does demonstrate the coming future though. As AI gets better we'll start seeing some very competent and convincing fan fiction stuff like this. I think someone could make a better ep today with Wan2.2, ComfyUI, and a lot of time and effort. Honestly that might be the future of good Star Trek. Since Paramount doesn't want to make good Star Trek, maybe its up to the fans to do it instead?![]()
I am 100% confident that fully consistent, well shot, real feeling episodes of The Next Generation (or any other beloved franchise) will be created freely by fans within 5 years.I just watched this whole AI fan fic episode.
