PLAY IT!I bought this on Wii-U and never played it and bought it again on Switch and never played it. I just upgraded to the Switch 2 version so I can never play it on that system as well.
Its worth it and also you dont have finish it as fast possible take you time and enjoy it.It's too big!
what do you mean? The game isn't rendering at 4k or the assets "don't look 4k enough"?I watched some clips and seen screenshots now... and like... there's no way this is 4k,
as in not even close... who are they trying to fool here with that 4k claim?

There is a difference there. I am pretty sure they didn't recreate any materials/textures/geometry so while it renders in 4k the visual fidelity of the rendered image may not meet players perceived standards.
I'm sure the scooby gang over at Digital Foundry will unmask this villan!
It doesn't have slam or burst and break/topple combos are not as crucial/central to success in combat as they are in other xenoblade gamesThey're also doesn't seem to be a slam mechanic... but there's launch... I'm trying to avoid Google on that one, but I may be headed down that road.
Whatever it is, it looks significantly better than it did before.I watched some clips and seen screenshots now... and like... there's no way this is 4k,

There's definitely a lot of jaggies, too, which I'm not used to seeing these days.Watching some videos, it seems like performance is a win (mostly 60FPS with minor dips in heavier scenes) but whatever upscale method they are using is causing shimmering/instability.
Probably FSR 1. Fornit to work with DLSS, theybwould have to make changes to the engine, wich makes no point, since this is an older version of the engine, and they are working on a new one atm.Watching some videos, it seems like performance is a win (mostly 60FPS with minor dips in heavier scenes) but whatever upscale method they are using is causing shimmering/instability.

I think from memory, which is hazy the colour is the type of attack that happens when you're not using the art. But I played this years ago when it looked worse than Jumping Flash so might be wrong/remembering somethung elsecan anyone explain to me what is going on here?

so if a crosshair border is ranged and an orange boundary is melee, then what the hell is this ability?

I've tempered my expectations of what the Switch 2 can do...like a year ago, man.
As long as I can play games smoothly, I really don't care anymore. This is coming from someone with a high end PC that loves when games visually rock my eyeballs.
Oh yeah, it's not great lolThe aliasing in this game is atrocious.
Thank you for confirming. This was my biggest fear and it isnt resolved. Honestly this shit needs calling out with Nintendo. Pisses me off.The aliasing in this game is atrocious.

I LOVE Xenoblade 2 but yeah it needs "definitive edition" not just simple Switch 2 upgrade.
honestly, the game is so fun who cares about a little aliasing?... 60fps and load times are massive improvements for playability
gamers suck off a 2.5d squaresoft game because it's good, but an old wii:u port gets extra shit because it's fully 3D?
at some point a good game is just a good game, maybe we need a DF wii:u vs switch2 thread so the graphics whores have a place to shit lol
at the very least, take it to the thread about the update

This is probably a dumb question, but sometimes I get a team combo indicator on my art icon, but sometimes I don't and there is only a text bubble?
I see the combo chain when I execute either way... what is the distinction or what am I missing?

I recommend asking stuff here because that thread specifically answers gameplay questions!
no no i meant you can ask your gameplay questions in that reddit thread because there's a higher chance that people might answer you there since that thread is super active currently!wait.., im confused did i post spoilers?... i can be more careful, but i thought they were basic gameplay questions

oh what the heck it's a reddit link haha, that's odd...ohhh, thanks.., it must be my phone, but it just looks like a blurred picture that isn't interactive
Me too! Haven't touched that one at all in hopes of an upgrade.Time to finally dive into this. I'm hoping for an upgraded Xenoblade 3 this year too
can anyone explain to me what is going on here?

I was wondering the same thing. What tells you it's a melee attack? The color? The border indicates whether the art will use your melee or ranged weapon. The colour indicates which stat will be used to calculate damage. That's Assault Hammer, you melee attack with the butt of your ranged weapon to inflict topple.
I wish I could tell you, but…I was wondering the same thing. What tells you it's a melee attack? The color?
The how to tell when a ranged weapon will be used as a melee weapon confuses me

I was excited for this updated but I'm going to hold off for now. I've waited some time now, I can wait some more. And if they never fix it so bet it, I'll play it anyway down the line at some point., maybe on an emulator. The reports on this thread sharply contrast with the DF reports and comments from other corners of the internet. DF direct calls it the worst Switch 2 edition yet and most people say IQ at some spots is worse (unstable IQ with pulsation) than the OG backcompat version on switch and the only win is 60 fps. This game was hardly intolerable at 30 fps so I will wait till they patch this edition to acceptable standards.
