Had a Series S and X. Sold both of mine in 2024

Still have an Xbox One X (and two Gaming PCs)

PS5/Series aren't worth it to me I'm waiting for next gen

Yeah, lol? What's the point of this thread?

I play Xbox 360 and original Xbox games enhanced and I love it. It also handles some games like Prey fantastically.

I have the X for a few older games that are better or only in there like MGS rising or best vanilla New Vegas version ffxiii xcom 2 neir automata p4g psychonauts 2. Best console versions of some shit. SSX 3 EA Big mothafuckas!
boo yah s galore GIF

Not a lot of games but the few that are better are better enough to be worth it. P4G gives 4K 120 on Xbox series X. Xcom 2 crashes less. The Final Fantasy 13 port is almost perfect. The new Vegas you can get on there is the best vanilla version you can get as far as stability, and plays great. It is a joy. If you want to have a simple version of new Vegas, that you can toy with, it is super fun to have it. I don't think PS5 ever got psychonauts 2 next GEN version. Near automata uses the Xbox one enhanced version and is the best way to play on console last time I checked. SSX 3 port is visually stunning somehow and super slick. It's just great, Anybody that buys that port will be very satisfied i'm not sure about the licensed music though. MGS rising. There are reasons.

I bought several Xbox Series X and Series S consoles last year.

I picked up 5 that were listed as parts/repair on eBay. I managed to fix 3 of them. I sold one for parts, which covered my costs, and one of them was still under warranty, so Microsoft repaired it, and I ended up selling that one, too.

So I managed to get both consoles for $200 in the end.

I bought and beat Control
1-month subscription for Game Pass.

Beat Hellblade 2, Tony Hawk 3+4, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 2. I didn't finish Indiana Jones.

I haven't used it since.

So simple that you struggled with the wording mate.

You also only reply to people who 'bite'. No responses except an immediate one to me.

I think I'll dip out of this one.
You asked me what the purpose of this thread was sir all the extra stuff and how you feel about it is on you. People still seemed to get the memo in voting. But thanks for participating if you did.

I do. I recently bought a gaming pc. My Series X is still being used. Since I only have a 1TB drive on my PC, I primarily use it for live service games, dev mode and select single player games.I recently bought Tales of Xilla for the Xbox because I know it's a game i want to unlock all the achievements in and Steam achievement doesn't feel satisfying.

I have an S and an X. Used the S for a year until I bought an X because I wanted the extra space and power.

My S is now my dedicated Rock Band 4 machine and my X is my dedicated Overwatch machine. Works for me.

I'll always have mine. Not like I'm gonna throw away a digital library of over a 1000 games. Plus all my gamer friends all still play on Xbox. We mostly play co op stuff anyway, so Atleast I always have a communicative squad, when I'm playing things like monster hunter and ghost recon wild lands. We still have a blast with that predator DLC, as old as it is now. Same with eso online. I would not play that game or fall out 76 for that matter if it wasn't for my long time Xbox friends list. We been playing together since X360 days. I wouldn't have it any other way.

I have both the S and X on separate TVs. I'm mainly a PC player but I still use them quite a bit in games that support cross-saves.

I've been very happy with them.

3 series x and 2 series s , i still play my series x a lot, great console been playing borderlands series, diablo 4, fighting game play best on the series x, my kids play on the series s minecraft, dying light and titanfall 2

Did the cutscenes ever get updated for the BC versions? I remember the 360 cutscenes were bad in comparison to the PS3 (IIRC the Steam release also has the bad cutscenes unless modded).

That being said the entire trilogy being 4K and Lightning Returns being 4K/60 is still a big advantage either way. I really need to go back and complete these games. I played the first one but never finished the trilogy.

I sold my XSX in June 2023. Good box but they were terrible at releasing first party games. Starfield was starting to look lame. Glad I'm out.

If you don't have a gaming PC. series x is pretty good console so i dont get the hate.
I mostly play on PC and think the Series X is a great console.

Yeah, having the Lightning trilogy in a good playable state on Xbox is great. One of the many reasons I still cherish my Xbox library. The Steam versions are shit!

I mean its a great console but if you have a PC you basically can play any game from day one with free online play. like with PS5 you still get some exclusives or games that come out much later, still i think any of the 3 choices are very good.

Yeah, that's why I mostly play on PC. But the plug and play nature of a console, better versions of some games, and full controller support for the entire library is still compelling. It's nice to have around when certain games on PC are more trouble than they're worth.

Yes I still have the best engineered console ever, the Series X.

nah, that title still belongs to the One X.

smaller than their own slim console, while being 5x~6x more powerful... no external power brick, quiet, sleek.

it had the unfortunate disadvantage of being an Xbox One, and having to have a Jaguar CPU still, but they truly perfected the hardware that console generation had to work with.

Can't argue with you there. Loved my One X.

I miss the Xbox One X era... however short it was.

we haven't seen image quality standards like that since.
you could basically bet on every game releasing for it to run internally at above 1440p, some locked 4k, some dynamic 4k, often with increased settings as well.

worst case scenario was checkerboard 1800p lol...

sure, some devs went a bit overboard, like when FromSoft tried to run Sekiro unlocked at native 1800p 🙃 maybe targeting checkerboard 1800p like on PS4 Pro or native 1440p would have been the way to go there...

BUT it had 120hz and VRR Support already as well, so even that was still fucking awesome for its time. sure wavering performance between 40 and 50 fps? just go to 120hz VRR and, bam, smooth motion.

and now? this generation? we have to be happy to have 1440p 30fps, and 1080p 60fps... and usually we don't even get that...

It really was incredible. I even used it as my main for a couple years into this gen. The One X should be the blueprint for how to do a great pro/midgen refresh console. Their hardware teams really are phenomenal.

Yes I own a big black cat fur collector…a silly impulse purchase when my ps5 was away getting replaced for a week. It's turned on briefly a couple times a year…if that.
