Curious about the world exploration. Every ARPG's I've played was pretty linear so this could be a nice shake on the formula.

You can double jump over terrain and low building like structures and enemies. I have a feeling both the dash and the jump mechanics will not only be used for platforming but regular and boss encounters. Definitely a gamechanger.

I should give it another go. Based on Steam description there is a lot of dynamic events that can occur from finding ancient ruins underwater or Necropolis Events where basically a Lich is slowly turning the land into a Undead Hellscape and can remove waypoints that spreads until you destroy the Lich and the Sarcophagus or eventually the whole map or world becomes tainted.

Demo is pretty rough though but it has a lot of potential!

The music is snooze inducing. I'm seeing stutter when finding objects in smashed things.
The game appears to have a 'minecraft' nature. just start chopping your way through walls and stuff.
It has that procedural generated thing. :(

Oohh curious about this one. thanks for reminding.
Is this DK Bananza meets Diablo? :messenger_beaming:
But i'm not the biggest fan of WASD Controls in Diablo like games.

"from the creators of Diablo" that is to say, some random ppl who did not actually create Diablo, but were there maybe, brings you some really ugly game, but props to them for making destructible stuff and whatnot, tho I don't think arpgs fans will care about that, unless it has some massive gameplay ramifications. Good luck to them. Not for me, at least not now. Perhaps in 10 years if it sees the light of day.

The vibes are alright from the game, but the graphics just suck big times. But hey if the game will be good i don't care, but for now? I don't know.
Also yeah we'll see how good the destructible stuff will be implemented actually.

I told myself to try not to be too negative but this looks generic AF, sorry

In case anyone is curious about what makes this game different than other ARPG:

The terrain in Darkhaven is fully deformable. You can dig into the earth to harvest resources, discover hidden caves, tunnel through dungeon walls, or rebuild ruined fortresses. Drain lakes to uncover sunken ruins or redirect flows of lava to form an impassable moat. You can also build. Raise the earth to create islands, fortify defensive positions, and construct everything from bridges to entire settlements. The land is your dominion, and its destiny is in your hands.

You are free to jump, climb, swim, and dash, making verticality a core part of the experience. Scale a fortress wall to gain a height advantage or use a well-timed leap to clear projectiles and heavy attacks. This freedom of movement transforms the environment into a tactical playground where your skill is just as important as your stats.

We are building Darkhaven to be fully moddable from the ground up. Using our in-client editor, you can create your own items, monsters, classes, and quests in real-time, even while playing concurrently with others. Whether you want to design a single set-piece or an entirely new ruleset for a persistent online world, the tools are built directly into the game.

This is awesome and a nice change from the standard fare. Will try and most likely buy.
When I saw this game's very first trailer, in the first minute I was not expecting it to evolve into a proto-Red Faction game, but then they started showing the mechanics and yea this makes it potentially much different than the usual nature of post-Diablo ARPG.

I like the idea of destructible environments, but there needs to be some tiering of the destructible materials. I shouldn't be able to bust through a stone wall with a swing of a stick. It's a cool concept, but full of jank and needs quite a bit of polish for the final version. Regardless, I'm interested in what they do based on the pedigree.

They're looking for feedback if anyone wants to leave any:

Literally got recommend this earlier today, looks cool.

I was looking at the discussion forums, which mentioned I believe it will go through early access. If so, probably a good choice given the game's destructible environments would benefit from the expanded dev time with active community feedback.

Holy shit…I expect fly by shit posts but this one is awe inspiring.

Are you sure you know what a video game is?!?

That's Eric Schafer and Philip Schnek…they started blizzard north and created the ARPG genera (or are heavily credited as part of the group that did).

That's a Dream level shit post and you should feel shame.

Looks good. Character movement looks janky like the first 3 seconds of the clip and the character strafing.

But what was the modding part? Simply you can make your own mods? Looks like the clip showed you were changing the gameplay you were in. Wasnt sure.

It's all meaningless. I'm working on an indie game and we tracked down the janitors and an HR person who worked at a company during a time it made a similar major franchise and paid them just so we could say "from the team that worked on x" just for the hell of it.

Care to give a rebuttal to post 18 that actually names names?

I just hope this game won't be such a flop like Stormgate.
To be fair to them, the entire RTS genre is on rocky ground right now.

No amount of innovation is helping the genre overcome how it initially looks to the average person, and League/Dota removed a huge chunk of the gamers who would normally gravitate to it.
