Marvel's Wolverine launches September 15, 2026.

I dont think a hack from years ago says its coming to PC day one

Also, things can change

It's 100% coming. The only games that aren't coming to PC are ones where they don't think it'll sell on PC (like Saros, and Saros is I would say 50-50 they will still do it)

They wouldnt have a spot on their state of play if they werent involved with the second one on PC

The first one was 505 I believe
Sony helped fund DS2, so it is to their benefit to advertise the game wherever it goes. It is not up to Sony when it goes to PC, though. Kojima Productions decides that. Kojima surely asked for it to be at SOP

We have no clue if or when its coming to PC, what is this post lol

its 100% not day one, not even "likely not"

There is no need to be a nitpicking pedant. Sony said years ago that they planned on bringing more and more titles to PC, and that they hoped to have over half their titles on PC by 2025. Based on that, and that the previous Insomniac titles all came to PC, I said it's going to have a PC release. I also said it was likely that it won't come to PC at the same time as it releases on PlayStation because they have historically not released day-and-date. Is Tiago Rodrigues Tiago Rodrigues your alt or something? Why do you feel the need to throw shade over that comment?

So you are saying, sony helped paid for the game, will receive 0 gain from putting it on PC monetarily? but are going to highlight it anyway.

the only argument to be made there is that its on decima and they want all that licensing rights money, which even then wouldn't make sense because it doesn't matter how many copies were sold.

The only reason they would put the PC port in their SoP is if they have a sort of financial gain from doing so.

business isn't so black and white.

Edit: doing like 10 seconds of research, nixxes are porting the game so Sony is literally making the game for PC

"likely not day one" it's 100% not day one though, we all know this.

You can just edit your comment, or say "my mistake, you're right but it is likely to come to PC".

Not hard.

And they also published it, so you were initially wrong. "helped fund", buddy, they funded all of it.
Kojima asking for it be at the SoP is completely silly as the PC port, just like the original PS5 version, is literally published by Sony. Heck, the fact that Nixxes is doing it should easily disprove the idea that it wasn't Sony's decision to port it.

Some random announcement for people to forget about Bluepoint.
lol a port team vs one of the best AAA teams in the industry, not sure I'd say this was some "random" reveal.

Marathon releases next week, of course they are starting their next marketing cycle for their next AAA title, as I'm sure right before Wolverine releases, they will market Intergalactic or God Of War remake etc.

Hopefully a new remaster by BluePoi....oh wait.

I forgot, but maybe this will be coming out this October.....

Magic Adventure GIF

Not interested at this point. But I will see how the user reviews end up before I decide to check it out.

Got the feeling it will be a reskin of Spiderman, same old song and dance we've done over and over.
But with PS4 graphics.
And ugly woman who beat the shit out of Logan.

Come at me ponies.

It was a random reveal, there's plenty of time for an actual trailer reveal, this was not necessary. You said it yourself, one of the best AAA teams and yet...

They likely want that news out of the way for some future state of play.

Sony has always drip fed news about their titles before some big state of play.

The Marathon release date was from a PS Blog Post...

So..... not that serious sir.

Ragnarok release date was done via the blog as well.

And still no gameplay.

Neat.
They said around the most recent SoP that move into will be revealed this spring.

Agreed I think people are stuck in this old mindset of how they see this company, it's like they're waiting for a series of trailers at a huge Press Event and then at the very end of some of they get some fireworks in a reveal date like "oh yeah one more thing" lol

This company is not operated on that for so long I'm not entirely sure why anybody still thinks that's the norm to think something is unusual here

Before I ever waste energy to see something as a sign of something being unusual, I first have to prove that they're going against their normal practices... Most people do not follow this thought process, they just start making entire articles about a bunch of dumb shit cause they don't know what they're talking about or they have not done their due diligence to research if this is even unusual in the first place

It's no different than those people that make those articles about people retiring or somebody leaving a studio completely disregarding the majority of gaming is contracted. So I'm not sure how somebody could say something is unusual if they cannot define what the normal SOP of that company is to then create a narrative that something unusual is going on

Give us the examples of the norm before wasting everyone's time lol

Sony has been drip feeding news about hardware and software since the PS4 gen and I think its likely help them more then hurt.

They dominate the news cycle and their teams don't need to make a series of demos for press events, slowing down development.

Agreed.

I just think we all want that back. Those E3s were hype af. Basically gaming's Super Bowl or Daytona 500.

I am not as excited after Spider man 2 but interested to see where this lands. Honestly, rather bored of the Marvel games and hope they do something new with this formula wise.

I'm just waiting for them to show some real gameplay for the thing, before I know if I'll be into it or not.

I'll wait for the next gen remaster ( oh you know it's coming eventually lol) , as far a Marvel properties I think all just stick with the movies . Haven't played any of the Insomniac games but from what I've seen they just remind of the games I played on ps2 ... just prettier .

Yes things can change, but the hack itself had internal documents that told us about the pc wolverine license as well.

But basically:
"Insomniac's data leaks have also confirmed that Sony's license agreement with Marvel stipulates that all of Insomniac's upcoming X-Men games need to have a PC version."

Unless they renegotiated the contract.

And the most important part of the contract is:
The contract in question even have sales target for pc/ps5 total, if they do not meet, the contract ends.

Dumbass Sony trying to respond to Microsoft's spending Acquisitions.

Yep....in 13 days, PlayStation went in full scramble mode, got the approval to spend billions from papa Sony, targeted Bungie for acquisition, then had a 20 minute Teams call with Bungie asking if they wanted to be on the team, and they said HELL YEAH!!

Seriously.....the fact that people actually believe this is ridiculous. With all the GaaS stuff Sony has been trying to do over the past few years, they bought Bungie exactly for what they they said they bought them for......to offer their expertise in GasS. Whether that was successful or not is up for debate but they sure as hell didn't drop billions for payback....

Edit:
Maybe we can possibly assume that Sony knew about the ABK acquisition long before we did, which could extend their "react" time, but even then it's still stupid to believe that it was a response to that deal

Insomniac solo carrying Sony's output this gen.
they may not be the most memorable insomniac games i've played, & they absolutely all come packing some awkward woke baggage, but they're all solidly built, polished, easy to enjoy games. insomniac continues to fire on all cylinders in an industry full of developers that struggle to do so...

Shaping up to be a decent year for PlayStation with Soros, Marathon and presumably Wolverine all looking good. Wolverine isnt really my kind of game but should be a big mainstream hit.
