Serious question time:
How do you even make a new Quake?
Is it Quake 1 which had basically no story, ambient music, and horror, with spongey enemies, and tons of movement where you can beat the game in a very short period of time since purists will hate it otherwise?
Is it Quake 2 which was Strogg and heavy metal, with slower movement?
Is it something like Doom 2016?
What are the weapons? Quake 1? Quake 2?
Is it a combination of Quake 1 and Quake 2, both with enemies and weapons?
Is it like Quake 4?
Does it have grenade and rocket jump?
Does it have a nail guns or machine guns?
It has to have a robust single player with mod support right?
It has to have custom personal servers right?
Does it have both Strogg and Shamblers, Vores, Ogre's and fiends?
I really liked Quake 1 and Quake 2. I wouldn't be able to decide. I can absolutely say I don't want it to be a graphical uplift of those, because I'd beat it in a weekend and unless it has custom maps and custom servers and map tools then I'd play it a few times and probably never touch it again. It has to be different somehow, but HOW?
What do you guys think?
