Nvidia and Microsoft partner to eliminate stuttering and shader compilation on PC

This is old news, the MS store wants to do basically what Steam does with Vulkan shader downloads. They already talked about it a while ago, this is not a real and durable solution to the issue.
 
"Microsoft Advanced Shader Delivery (ASD) eliminates the bottleneck by distributing precompiled shaders directly during the game download."

Thats's it? And when there are driver updates again you have to precompile shaders. Total nothing burger. You save just the initial install time compared to precompiling them yourself.
 
I'm still waiting for the neural texture compression by Nvidia.

It's been available since the beginning of the year. It will depend on the developers starting to use it.

 
Who cares about shader comp? Takes like 3 minutes the first time you launch a game.
Yeah its fine with most games. TLOU remake though, it was like 30mins lol. In fact it was so long my cpu was thermal throttling by the end of it.

Thanks god they changed it for the sequel.
