Free the tits !

What exactly is the reason behind this anyway? In real life I'm pretty sure trans people don't describe themselves as being type a or b or whatever. It feels like it is solely a video game thing.

Its known token wokeism, elden ring did this so woke sellout reviewers dont take away points from metascore like they usually do for all based games last decade.
In other words its devteam giving the clownworld believers something to stuff their throats on, aka the cold hard dick :messenger_sunglasses:

Or its just because they are Japanse.

Pretty sure it has nothing to do with trans and weird anti wokers just coopted it into their fight.

I always felt being mad about TypeA/B shit is so lame. its literally 2 seconds prompt in a character creation that has no bearing whatsoever on the gameplay at all.
That is assuming rest of the game isn't filled with agenda bullshit.

I thought type a/b came from Japan and its never ever bothered me. Its still a binary choice.

It didn't really came from japan. Japan companies let US companies let their translation going. And like in every translation project you are usually giving translation company free reign to translate to their culture. Translation company probably had culture warriors so you end up with Type A B when in Japan it is normal Male Female.

If it is so weird to care about it then why do you care that people are mad ?

My view is obvious. Because it is stupid as shit and it actually creates problem where you need to literally study character model to see if you are actually playing as man or woman. Why do I need focus my eyes in character creator if I want to play as man/woman ?

BG3 not only had Type 1 and 2 but also 2 body types for each as well if i remember correctly and they placed them not one after another but type 1 large body and type 2 large body.

So in order to play as male I have to focus on my character model, compare which is annoying. And then after all of this they also made default voice to female as well regardless of sex choice as well. So if you spend up hour making your perfect character you can ruin that hour by forgetting about voice.

Also it's fucking weird that this is only in character creation but when you play game npcs etc. don't refer to you as Type A or Type 2 but him, hers.

"Hey Type 1, wanna kill goblins with me ?"

"We are all Type 2 here, we can fix issues ourselves ! We don't need Type 1's here !"

Have some examples of this? Id like to see if Elden Ring actually says male/female in Japanese (I doubt it)

Nah, brah, kcd2 did it too, literal 1 darker skinned npc( merchant from country far away) and henry having gay option hidden under very specific dialogue options/actions just so woke journos dont take away sizeable chunk of metacritic score, and it worked- kcd2 got 89 meta on pc(best scored version) vs 76 on the first one.

And both kcd1 and kcd2 were of very similar quality, especially if we count launch date of first one- launched in 2018 vs kcd2 in 2025.

Type A and B is complete nonsense. There is two genders in this world, male and female, and that is a scientific and biological fact. Reducing it to a mere Type A and B is neither progressive nor is it inclusive, in fact it's offensive and reductive to the vast majority of people who are born either as a male or female. And if you're not identifying as either of these, there should be an option that states "other" instead of removing male and female option for us who wants it.

Two man are towering over an Orange arguing vehemently whether its a tangerine or a big giant lemon. I don't care about the issue, both could be right or wrong, its just unfortunate to witness.

Personally in human selection its very clear whose the male looking one and which ones the female by a glance. In fantasy setting like BG3, I kinda agree with you and can see how a dinosaur looking male at the end turned out to have a feminine voice which ruins immersion. But its really not something that can't be fixed in a short amount of time. It could be annoying yes, but on the other hand in a land where fire breathing dragons and blood alchemy exists, I can excuse feminine eyes on a male chad dino.

Kcd doesnt use type a/b

Their goal is to change as much as they can in gaming, to assert their dominance and propaganda. Small, seemingly unimportant changes like this do add up and are actual important to their goal.

Exactly, so my point stands- it didnt give token wokeness so had to suffer huge backlash unlike its sequel.

It suffered backlash due to comments made by the director about wanting to say historically accurate. Which I applaud him for.

But that was not to the liking of the extreme leftists.

Because there are 72 genders and A and B cover them all while "male" and "female" are considered discriminatory and hurtful.

God i miss the 90s.

Did u make this up yourself?

Type A/B is a binary choice. There are no 72 genders affirmed within this choice.

You guys are being ridiculous. Just making shit up to support your own thoughts and arguments.

Sure, but if you give them an inch then eventually they want a mile.

Like i said, compared to first game backlash was almost non existant, first one had crazy backlash of epic proportions, including even professors of universities publicly critiquing the game, i remember i quoted some of it in kcd next gen patch thread so no point doing it again.

I think most backlash kcd2 received was fake backlash from feminists who were trying to make playerbase outrage that game became woke, still it failed like all woke initiatives coz players were smart, we knew all along its token wokeness only, not shit u can find in spiderman2/veilguard/avoved/ow2/tlou2 or likely in upcoming fable game(i say likely not coz im not sure of it, but game didnt launch yet so just making sure i stay fair and judge only finished product, not trailers/previews which look woke af to me :P ).

What's the "other"?

Trans? Wouldn't they just pick what the "identify" as in that case?

Intersex people? Is so, again, wouldn't they just pick the one they feel most comfortable with? They still have male/female characteristics, not some entirely new set of chromosomes never before experienced by humans. It's still essentially a mishmash of male and female chromosomes.

I genuinely don't understand what group of people Type A/B is supposed to be for.

Another thing that pisses me off is the butchering of English. A body type isn't a fucking gender. A body type DESCRIBES PHYSICAL TRAITS. Skinny, fat, tall, short, muscular etc are body types. Your gender/sex isn't a fucking """type""". This whole Type A/B crap is retarded no matter how you look at it, whether it be socially, physiologically, or in the context of basic English.

For those who may look like one thing and consider themselves another thing. It's all related, but that's the only reason.

Would be better if it was "Masculine" and "Feminine"?

That way neither side would be mad (?)
feels game of thrones GIF

Now that I think of it. A game that presents you with the A/B choice, but then contains even a single sentence using the word "man" or "woman", would ironically invalidate its premise. I never payed attention if it actually happens in these games, though.

Nope, this is what they believe. They also think men can menstruate.

This Type A | B stuff is straight up nonsense. Just like developers using the phrase 'modern audience', this is simply an indicator that the game is likely packed full of ugly female characters, feminist tropes and other woke ideology. I don't mind it too much though, lets me know which games to avoid.
