Performance mode not use PSSR anyway. For now.I dont think it will fix perf, but image will be much better
Are you talking about patches for games?
According to Sony, and I think Remedy mentioned it too, they don't need to patch the games for the update to take effect, it's done automatically.
Wonder if GT7 will benefit? Looking forward to trying it out.
Did you test GT before the update? I'm pretty sure this game has been improving PSSR in some updates
I just hope the flickering grass with most PSSR games is resolved with the new PSSR2 system toggle.
Oh i forgot they removed it. I wonder if they will reenable it with 2.0 now since they said game supports itPerformance mode not use PSSR anyway. For now.
Maybe read the blogpost first? So do we have an actual list of affected titles yet or is it just that handful of DF and RE9?

PSSR2 x PSSR2 = PSSR4If a game already uses pssr 2.0 but you also have the toggle on…would that effect anything? Hopefully it just bypasses the toggle at that point.
Yeah we need frame generation with pssr2 all modern games shooters and fast action need 120fps to improve latency on controllers!
You read it yet? Thanks smartass. I sincerely hope that's you in your avatar.

Jealous? Thanks smartass. I sincerely hope that's you in your avatar.
Ps6 with AMD going to look immediately past the use by date if something similar isn't in there. If I ever build a gaming PC again I'm definitely sticking with Nvidia for a GPU.

Even if Sony releases tomorrow FG and RR, I don't think we would get many games using. Also they are probably saving those things to PS6.FG should have been a focus right on the get go tbh, what is a better way to advertise PS5 pro, than better IQ and higher than 60fps. Imagine Tlou 2 advertisement would be 4K via PSSR @ 120fps, even if they have to drop the internal res to 1080p to free up GPU resources for FG. There are features already available with AMD like AFMF2, They should have offer something like that for all PS4 titles, what is a better way to offer value, there is also no mention to the PS4 image enhancement upgrade for this upgrade so I am not expecting any change.
The toggle will bypass the game's version. That's the whole point of it. So guess what happens when you override 2.0 with 2.0? You get.... 2.0.If a game already uses pssr 2.0 but you also have the toggle on…would that effect anything? Hopefully it just bypasses the toggle at that point.

This will matter when the system version goes to 2.x. Then the game will be overriden to 2.x as well.
I sure hope that isn't the case. That makes it a system level feature purely as a work around for less than 100 games. Who architects a system level toggle just for 1 year's worth of games?I think games with 2.0 will be untoggable. DF will use disc versions to test how native PSSR2 compares to system swap.

That was a BC feature built looking backwards. This is a feature built looking forwardsToggles for super sampling on PS4 Pro and VRR brute force on PS5 were not exactly made for that many games.
Maybe this PSSR toggle will swap 2.0 games as well when newer version arrives?
It's even confirmed we are getting patches? Could be they are forcing PSSR2 in some selected games via firmware. I really would be surprised if they are patching SH2I think games with 2.0 will be untoggable. DF will use disc versions to test how native PSSR2 compares to system swap.

You got time to type out a whole message and ask a question but not click the link. It's called working for a living and being distracted by shit I'm paid to do. Try it sometime.
I don't think anyone should wait, thew PS6 is going to be more expensive than the Pro and the PS6 hardware won't be utilised until a few years into the lifecycle. 100% games are going to be almost identical within the first few years. GTA 6 also coming before then too, why would anyone wait, doesn't make sense. Enjoy the future now.. There is no other console like this. Finally the PS5 pro is a worthy system to consider.
Jesus took them 1 years and half to act right .
With that being said. PS6 is by the end of next year so.... So waiting is also not a bad option. ..
I think Sony should clarify the rumors about the PS6 release as it will hurt people on the fence of either upgrading or waiting for next gen.
I'm confused I thought the toggle would update every game that's has pssr?Silent Hill f
Silent Hill 2
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
Monster Hunter Wilds
Alan Wake II
Control
Senua's Saga: Hellblade II
Nioh 3
Rise of the Ronin
Dragon's Dogma 2
Crimson Desert
Assassin's Creed Shadows
Cyberpunk 2077
Those are ones where devs are ensuring everyone sees their game with 2.0 regardless of toggle. Which means they get fine grained control to adjust other aspects based on the new performance characteristics. Once the toggle is there, you can force it on other games that run 1.0 alreadyI'm confused I thought the toggle would update every game that's has pssr?

I figured you deserved an actual answer, which is pretty straightforward -- once you flip the toggle on, the system will automatically upgrade every game that uses PSSR to the new-and-improved version. So, if you look at a list of "games that use PSSR," it will apply to every game on that list, once you've flipped the toggle on.
Some devs are creating patches that will turn the update on without the need for the toggle, so that muddies the water a bit. But basically, flip the toggle on, and every game with PSSR 1.0 will automatically update to PSSR 2.0.
I'm looking forward to the update. Will download tomorrow. PS5 Pro vindicated.
No change, at all. This is for PS5 Pro games only. So, I still can't get any confirmation, will there be any benefit for older (PS4) games? Through the system-wide switch. Image sharpening, maybe?
Thank you. But will there be any improvement for PS5 games that didn't have PSSR1 to begin with?No change, at all. This is for PS5 Pro games only.
10 mins till I run to my room and turn on the professional!
It certainly does indicate that. If the toggle works as advertised, we'll know soon enough. And then one of us can tell the other "I told you so"So this list from playstation proves GT7 hasnt been updated?
