It shows how hysterical the AI boogieman is in gaming. I think that's the reason he feels so strongly. His company was seen all day as being Pro generative AI.

They're a tech-focused media outlet. Of course they would be deeply interested and excited for new technologies that enhance games. Anyone expecting otherwise just never understood what Digital Foundry actually is.

Just watched this and as per usual I seem to be completely out of touch with the perpetually online twitter mob, the two lads are simply giving their opinions on a first look at some new tech from Nvidia, sure it comes off as a bit cringe and they're probably recovering from some serious partying the night before, fuck knows I would be suffering from the jetlag and free booze.. people need to get a life, they wanted to pop out a video, get some views and you know make money cause that's how they all get fucking paid and when the tech becomes available for them to properly test inhouse I'm sure they'll give it a proper deep dive, warts and all..

Man, this reaction is exactly why caring so much about randoms on the internet liking you is stupid, along with paying any mind to guilt by association.

Dude flips out anytime there is pushback to their videos, especially from the resetera/blue-sky types.

The pushback is also silly, it's fine for them to be excited about a new technology that pushes visual fidelity, because that's what their entire channel is themed around.
 
So is DF not allowed to cover new rendering tech because they need to take some "moral" AI stand on behalf of some vidiot dorks on x? Should they just crowdfund instead of doing sponsored content? I don't understand any of this honestly. John should just ignore this crap, he seems like a cool dude but is way to sensitive and caring of what some dorks on the internet think.

Bad timing as I think John was supposed to do further console coverage of Crimson Desert. One of the other guys is doing the PC version though.

I always respected John unparalleled passion and appreciation for videogames in all of their facets, so of course this reaction is expected. I would image even Alex position has to be similar, despite the kind of Nvidia coverage we usually get from him. Disappointed by the posts in this Thread.
