Resident Evil Future to be Discussed at Capcom in 2027

I'm pretty sure they saw how massively popular Leon is and will most likely go with him only as the protag going forward. They'd be dumb not to. They even had that wall of popularity for RE chars, and Leon was pretty much destroying everyone else. Code Veronica/RE1 remake will not do any big numbers compared to a Leon game. Honestly I'd scrap those two in favor of having a faster launch of a RE10 game with Leon in third person only.

They should also remake 6, don't just stop at 5. It's their chance for a do over and to actually make it into a good game. Requiem provides hints of what they could do with the multiple protagonist and play styles.

RE OUTBREAK - RE GaaS, free to play, mtx on maps and character customisation, multiplatform

COme on capcom, not hard here

Well I'm sure that they didn't see that coming. Who would have thought they would still be talking about one of their largest franchises next year?

Enough remakes.

Take the remake team and move them on to new entries. The RE2/4 team is better than the 7/8/9 team. Now they're being wasted on Code Veronica. Let them make new content.

Cooking with Leon
Leon Kennedy: Ace Attorney
Leon Hand
Breath of Leon
Leon Rising
Bionic Kennedy
Ghosts n Leon
Leon and Leon Rescue Rangers
Leon Man X

Move on to remakes of the remakes.
Please don't burn me alive. But I would buy:

RE2 Remake extended edition. Added zapping. More fleshed out A/B scenarios. Updated engine with full path tracking for better looking shadows.

RE3 Remake Extended edition: longer campaign, clock tower, added city hub sections where Tyrant behaves like Mr X. Upgraded RE engine Path tracking.

While I am in my fantasy add native PCVR

i don't know it really means but they'd be stupid as shit to stop RE games.
Yeah that is not a thing, no one shoots a cash cow. When they say they would discuss the future of the series i means the same thing that happened after RE6 when they decided to take the series to its horror roots and remake RE2, since right now there are four active teams behind RE they will pitch in ideas on where to take the series in the next 10 years, it is often a positive thing.

Take the Gamecube versions of 2 & 3 and the PlayStation version of 1 and give them to someone to re-release as a collection with custom controls and lots of different filter options etc like those recent console archive releases.

I would too, but only if it was fairly priced, since the base games are already made.

Thinking of replaying the OGs. Is emulating the GC version the move?

You joke but aren't they remaking RE1 again?
To be fair, as great as the current Remake of Resident Evil 1 still is, there is a ton of potential of a new remake using the latest RE engine.

Remember, REMake was only one generation removed from the original in terms of hardware, even though that generation was a huge leap.

Having said that, I'm one of those huge CV fans who can't wait for this new Code Veronica remake.

Just make Steve Burnside less annoying and keep Alfred the crossdressing nutter and I'll be happy.

It's really personal preference and opinions. But imo the overall best versions of og 2 & 3 is the gamecube ones. I think they are most polished, skippable cutscenes, and usually the bonus modes (extreme battle etc). Also those ports feature in game brightness tuning and more tuning to allow control with the analog sticks (still tank controls). I also really liked the n64 version for the modern style control scheme amongst some other things.

Last year I played the gog pc port, n64, dreamcast and gamecube versions of og 2. I plan to play the vanilla ps1 version soon. But I played that version back in the day.

We're kinda done unless we think it's worth putting a fresh coat of paint on RE6, but it still looks pretty decent on PC. Maybe just a remaster with uncompressed assets. The fact they're talking about remaking RE0 makes me afraid they're going to try and remake Mikami's seminal Resident Evil 2002. R4make is one of the very best games of the gen for me, but they got lucky. It's like when you do something you know is a bad idea and going to hurt, but you get away with it. Phew. But don't try it again. I'm a few hours into a replay of RE 2002 with the new texture pack. They went back and upscaled the textures from the GameCube source rather than the PC source (which had shitty upscaling already) and I just don't think this needs an upgrade. Just a remaster would be great for the people who can't mod theirs. Game still has some stunning areas in 2026 and with unlocked frame rate it's very attractive.

If resident evil was sony IP hermen would undoubtfully decide it to go modern audience multiplayer gaas extraction shooter, luckily for us, he has no saying in that and it still targets hc audience(aka males):
