Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
Which of the two Star Wars action games did you like more and why?

* yes I know the JFO and Survivor have some RPG elements and upgrades etc, but at the core it's a character action game.

I think Force Unleashed honestly. With its huge push in physics and all the destruction, it takes up a larger part of my brain. Definitely a ton of memorable dumb fun moments.

I still enjoy the Jedi series for what it is, but man, I just want Jedi Knight to come back, lol.

As a verified Star Wars hater I enjoyed The Force Unleashed 1 (Next Gen Version). Can't say the same about the others and did not get very far into them.

I've heard reasonable enough arguments that the PS2/XB version is often considered superior to the PS3/360 version, ala Splinter Cell Double Agent.

They cut out that star destroyer sequence on those last gen versions.

Both games are great but I prefer Jedi fallen order. It felt like the team understood what made the OT great while not being a direct copy of Luke's journey.

In Fallen order I liked the feeling of being a Jedi uncovering the mysteries of the force by exploring ancient ruins. Loved the whole Dathomir sequence with the fallen Jedi. Great writing in that game.

I've played one of them and I can't even remember which one

It wasn't even that bad it kind of felt like a temu dark souls set in Star Wars world. Never finished it though

Maybe I should revisit these games

FU had some really epic moments, but too little to matter as most of the games were kinda mediocre outside the set pieces. FO/Survivor are better overall in moment to moment gameplay/level design, etc.

I think the Force Unleashed is a far more interesting game. Yes, the execution of the ideas is flawed, but the ideas were interesting, at least. And personally speaking, I think the Force Unleashed games had a more interesting story.

Both games stories are kinda pointless, FU did have some ambition but it was just an edgy fan fiction. Combat wasn't really fun but the force power usage and destruction was.

Cal Kestis games are one of the few good things about Disney Star Wars.

Unleashed is destructive to Star Wars canon and Fallen Order is actually respectful of canon, and thus fits snugly into it, so by default Fallen Order.

Unleashed is also not a great game whereas Fallen Order is. Survivor less so, but then The Force Unleashed 2 is atrocious so...

The problem I think is that Star Wars is not a good fit for souls-like like JFO. It's not at all memorable for me as a game, didn't even play the 2nd that I got for free with a CPU.

It's much better suited for fast paced action, so I must go with Unleashed which is still a very strange game coming from JK2/JKA but it was at least fun. Also it was made before the era of pushing agendas..

Sorry bud, but Jedi Knight II is the only correct answer

The story and villains of the first Jedi Knight were so much better though.

Out of the options in the poll, the new Jedi games are much better than Force Unleashed. The latter was a cool concept, but very disappointing in execution.

nostalgia is crazy. Love all these games but you guys are absolutely on drugs if you think the force unleashed games are even sniffing the farts of the respawn jedi games

I think Fallen Order is the better game, good story and action.
Force Unleashed games are very fun as well.

Both are products of their age and great games.

TFU1 is probably the best game of all of them, but TFU2 is the worst by far.

I liked both Jedi games but I really wish the combat was more refined and the 2nd game was a technical disaster on PS5.

Force Unleashed story was complete ass, couldn't care less about it. But the same can be said for the Jedi series.

But the gameplay, particularly related to the physics, in FE made it a ton of fun. As far as I remember wasn't it one of the few games outside of GTAIV that used the Euphoria system?

I played JK2 and JKA mp for many years competitively in ESL as well. Amazing times. I still hope someday they remake these with the online aspects.
While not an option, the Jedi Knight series should be the automatic go-to when talking about action based Star Wars games, what a great fucking time.

I have SO many fond memories of the multiplayer too, in all the games. The saber dueling, the use of force powers, ugh, it was all so good. In the Mysteries of the Sith Jedi Knight expansion there was an Emperor's Throne Room map that was fucking wonderful. You could destroy the window and it would suck everything out just like in Empire Strikes Back. Using force powers to throw debris and shatter the window to suck people out and die was too much fun.

I genuinely have no idea why they haven't tried to properly remake the series or make a sequel complete with single player and multiplayer. It makes absolutely no sense to me.

Probably license hell with Lucas Arts, but now that theyre kinda back, maybe theres hope.

Never bothered to finish Force Unleashed. Nothing really stood out for me.
But Fallen Order and Survivor were very fun Metroidvainia/Souls like games. Though the backtracking in Fallen Order was really annoying.

This is genuinely the only thing that makes sense to me. I really do hope so.

There was a playable build of the first few levels of Jedi Knight that someone created in UE5 and it was SO good. It honestly made me so happy and sad, lol.

I haven't got to play the Jedi games. Force Unleashed games were a bit too simple when it comes to gameplay, but the story was really cool and the way it handled different what if-storylines was awesome.

For instance in both games, while the "light" ending was cannon, there was DLC for the "dark" ending and you get to kill several Star Wars heroes.

Force Unleashed is proof that a simpler game can win. It's not super deep with the whole universe shebang, it's just dudebro has powers, learns more shit and goes full lightsaber on enemies to have his peace

Fallen Order on other hand has bureaucracy since the start, obligatory walking sessions, and secrets that are not so secret after all

One has inspirations with [OG] God of War while the other got their mind with Dark Souls, which are very much different categories. BUT Force Unleashed still holds up today to be a fun pick up and play, while Fallen Order I think will be forgotten if the near future

Force Unleashed was pure edgeboy cringe material. Like a Star Wars made by My Chemical Romance.

Galen Marek just came across as a twat.

Jedi: Survivor is the only one of those I like. Damn good game, and I'm a Star Wars hater.

Fallen Order is boring. Force Unleased is cringe and simple. Both are mid games.

I would describe TFU 2 as this, but the first game was pretty good and told a decent enough prequel tale to the movies.

Screw the haters, I had a really good time with Unleashed 2. Sure it's over the top and dumb, but who cares. You can beat it in a sitting or two, you bring down a fuckin TIE fighter with Force pull and the fight with Vader at the end was way more memorable to me than the one in Survivor. At the time it's rain effects were what was praised the most, the biggest complaint being the length, but hey where have we seen that before? RE3 Remake*

Amazing how this game hasn't been topped. Everything from the lightsaber combat to the level design was top notch. Such a rewarding game.

Dude the addition of new stances in JK2 and "hidden" special moves was SO good. I remember learning all of them at the first time and feeling like a pro, lmao.

I feel like Fallen Order/Survivor would win on an official "what makes a better game" checklist.

I enjoyed them but always felt a little bit limited by the resource system... you could never really just unload and feel badass.

But Force Unleashed was just more fun and truly made you feel like a badass fucking OP jedi. Just tee-ing off on everything around you with badass powers.

It was truly... uhhh... the Force Unleashed.

Hard decision for different reasons. If you asked me this last generation. I would have said Force Unleashed due to the great physics and entertaining gameplay. Though, fighting some of the force resistant troopers got a little boring. Jedi Survivor saved the series in my mind.

Neither series is perfect, but I think I go Jedi over Force, if for nothing else than it feeling a bit more grounded. Force had a very "written by a twelve year old fan who happens to also love Dragon Ball" quality to it.

Jedi Fallen Order/Survivor are the better games, but I think I had more high moments with the Unleashed games given the physics and overpowered stuff you could do.

Survivor was a busted ass game at launch though, so fuck Respawn for that.

Force Unleashed 1 and 2, it was over the top and dumb, but it did a better job than any of the movies at showing why Jedi Sith are feared in that Universe.

Jedi Fallen Order is better than The Force Unleashed, but Jedi Survivor is worse... and Force Unleashed 2 is the worst of them all by a large degree...
