Which would be fucking stupid. Why I have to pay extra for basics function?
You're paying more for the disc now.

Perfect time to make some predictions. What's with all the threads popping up lately asking questions about PS6 that none of us could possibly know the answer to until Sony tell us?
Is this what is being pushed in the discord meetings now?
Sony will not want to go back to boring Square boxes. What crazy design will they come up with next? Maybe a Leaning Tower of Playstation. No chance, mainly because they'd want to sell you another drive, but also because I think the PS6's form factor will be different than the PS5's.
Everyone wants to steal Neostradamus (onQ123) thunder?Perfect time to make some predictions.
Some would say "right on cue....123"Perfect time to make some predictions.
Me uncle was fired from his janitor job at PlayStation before I could get that informationPerfect time to make some predictions.
Your responses don't even make sense
I like Nintendo's game key card idea. Sony and MS should just use 64-128 gb microSD cards where the game code can always be updated. Just add those into tiny cases, and add $20 costs extra for physical releases.Me uncle was fired from his janitor job at PlayStation before I could get that information
Most of the stuff I would like to see is probably off the table because of production costs going up instead of down .
Crazy thing is that a new optical media format would probably be a godsend in the middle of this memory & storage crisis![]()
Or continue to use 4k blu-ray discs that cost peanuts to mass replicate...hey if you want to pay $90 for a microsd option by all means...I like Nintendo's game key card idea. Problem with that is the disc's don't contain the game files, or even if they do, it's outdated builds. You can't update the disc's. Also, good luck trying to use a Blu-ray disc with the PS6 Handheld.Or continue to use 4k blu-ray discs that cost peanuts to mass replicate...hey if you want to pay $90 for a microsd option by all means...

But in the end what always happen? Now you know how most of us feel at yours.![]()
They have never had a disc add-on before so you can't go off of history in this situationNo chance we won't need to buy new disc drives for PS6. Every generation, Sony always makes huge changes to the overall "box design" from generation to generation. So they'll engineer the new system so the PS5 drives won't fit.
I disagree. There is still a significant portion of the Sony userbase who buy large quantities of physical games, like myself. But I believe Sony will want to maximize the profit from that, as it is often more convenient to buy physical copies of games from vendors other than Sony themselves. Being able to sell another disc drive for those that want this feature seems like an easy way to make profit and I have extreme difficult believing they will just let PS5 add-on disc drive owners pop it out and slot it into the PS6.They have never had a disc add-on before so you can't go off of history in this situation
They will definitely make a new PS6-only disc drive. They have never had a disc add-on before so you can't go off of history in this situation
A letter to his mother, particularly if it is hand written, is usually considered a very warm gesture. I hope to some day be featured in one of his penned letters to his beloved mom.

the disc drive should have been any usb blu ray drive in the first place and not some xbox360 hdd like nonsense.
To be fair, people said that about DualShock, turns out DualSense is a better controller in many ways, so if they do change the controller and it isnt backwards compatible then there is probably good reason. (I think it will be backwards compatible though, I think they are happy with DualSense and it will just be refinements if anything)Oh man, if the Dualsense controllers aren't Forwards Compatible, there should be massive backlash.
Fortunately Sony has a product for those markets, it's called a PS5*You didn't do any research at all before making that poll huh OP?
Sony has already said that there's still too many markets outside the US/EU that prefer to buy Physical Games and are currently unable to go full digital on the PS6 so the Disc Drive will still be there at launch for the PS6.
Of course that doesn't mean there won't be a version of the system without a disc drive at launch
But that third option on the poll shouldn't exist.
it would have been a rather slim, boring box, depending on what you choose. Not awful. And of course they could have made some white + black with some blue lights matching the regular PS5 or any special edition design, for the true fans. Maybe even disguise it as the vertical stand. lolIt would look awful but with this it would be hard to explain why it couldn't work with PS6.
Sony's got you covered; they will come out with PSVR3 and not support it. Probably cost ya $800 bucks.I'm more concerned on whether PSVR2 is compatible with PS6
I thought that PS5 disk drive keys can be updated when hooked up to a PS5. If that's the case nothing stopping Sony from pushing the update from a PS6.I'd say unlikely cause they'll probably make a new copy protection scheme for the new console.
