The main problem that Disney faced was that it could not explore the immediate years after the second Death Star in the main trilogy. Every actor that did the original trilogy was basically at his 60s/70s.

So it kinda kills half of the EU where we got the new Jedi order with Luke, Mara Jade, Thrall, Rogue Squadron, Ben Skywalker, Jacen/Caedus, Chewbacca's death etc.

They need to go directly to 30 years after DE2 or no nostalgia driven box office for 7-10. Everything felt disjointed....

Then, after all this... They let a lunatic, with absolutely no regard for the canon, loose to take charge of the most important episode of the new trilogy. EP.7 was salvageable, EP.8 was not, especially after Carrie's death, Hans death, and the complete disregard of Luke's + his death.

The premise that the empire was back while the New republic failed isn't the problem. The problem is EP8 imploding 7 movies of lore and canonicity because "LOLZ I'm the vanguardist Ozymandias director of Breaking Bad"

Disney ain't going to cancel the new trilogy with another trilogy focusing on Rey on the oven. The only solution IMHO, as I said, is to make a 10-13 trilogy imploding everything that the 7-9 created. Or pull out narrative device on the series, Andor/Mandalorian etc that introduce the "time traveling/multiverse" right before the beginning of Rey's trilogy, but that cannot be done without imploding the box office of the current in preproduction 10-13 trilogy.

We're going to wait a long time to see the universe going forward.

You can if you open up with Luke training new Jedi in a place, have Luke training his Nephew, show him training his own son too. He never got the celibate monk memo. Then you have Han and Leia come for a visit, they show up with their other kids. Then you have their kids seduced by someone on the dark side. Luke must go with his Nephew/Niece to save his own child. Force is out of balance, and the new Sith from a long time ago is there to balance it. Luke has discovered the Whils and taps into the Whils to help combat the new evil. First movie ends with Luke saving his Son but his kid is still influenced by the Dark side.

You can have Luke Die saving his family, then he becomes a force Ghost, Probably introduce Hans kids as Neutral Jedi.

Those aren't the years immediately following the destruction of the Death Star II though. That's Mandalorian time, where you need to deep fake Luke instead of drop the actor in.

But I don't see it as a problem, the story could be 30 years later. Just have it not suck. Of course, now Carrie Fisher is dead so they blew their only shot, need deepfake or new actress now anyway.

Probably should start with Luke trying to end a trade dispute in the SPACE LANE of HORMUZ. Then some serious Drone battles and Empire Craft carriers blockade the trade that the Aridain Trade delegation tried to block. But worldwide crystal prices skyrocket while the Empire says we have our own Crystals.

They should delete it from history. Also they should destroy all the prequels shows like acolyte etc.

Only rogue one should survive.

Stop fucking with family issues, not everyone has to be the son of someone.

Luke should be the ultimate jedi master weapon of the universe.

Next star wars movie should start like 500 years from Episode VI, with a new menace or some shit like that.

Star wars was always about new technology and impressive visuals, disney should push that to the limit.

Also please stop with the multiverse situation. It ruined marvel, and it will ruin star wars again.

Unfortunately that ship has sailed. The OT made an impact because of how groundbreaking the special effects were at the time. Nowadays, impressive visuals are commonplace and do little to make anything stand out from the crowd.

I still stand by Star Wars being a product of its time, films that fitted that late 70s/early 80s era perfectly.

I think I'm the only one who thinks the sequel trilogy isn't as bad as people want it to be...
Some people talk about it like they're abuse victims. But it seems like these days that victim/abuser dynamic is the way some people see a lot of things. It takes a lot of the nuance out a lot of online discussions around films and other subjects.
