He now works with a 3rd party publisher, so pretty likely are there showing Sony their next project(s) to get a marketing deal or something.
The PC + GaaS initiative and Marathon, GT7, MLB, TLOU Online, Helldivers 2, London Studio's new IP, Horizon Hunter Gathering and maybe other GaaS of the initiative were started by Shuhei Yoshida and Shawn Layden. Hermen and Ryan just continued their work.
So according to you Astro Bot, Death Stranding 2, Physint, Stellar Blade, Lost Soul Aside and Marvel Tokon don't exist? Hermen greenlighted them, he didn't kill Japan Studio.
What Hermen did was to cancel the mobile games they were making and restructured them to bring them back to focus on console games, giving them new and bigger offices in the same building to both internal and external teams where they could grow. Teams which now would be again separated teams as they were in the past, and as happened before in the EU and US studios that had XDEV teams. And also merged their different internal development teams into one of them: Team Asobi.

Of course, between him and Herman, I'd choose him a thousand times over. But I think I might even prefer Philip Spencer over Herman.

About that, he does not approve of day one pc port. He is not perfect, but he is 110% better than Hulst and Ryan combine.

This exactly. A no brainer if they want to become successful again. Right now they are shite under Hulst's failed leadership. To many Concords and other woke garbage games. Playstation needs to go back to what made them great and Yoshida could do it if they put him in charge. The whole California/Ryan/Hulst experiment has been a bloody nightmare.

As i said he is not perfect but he listens and humbly accept if its wrong. He is still 110% better than Hulst and Ryan combines. I think about concord, he never thought the character design will be this ugly, possibly he got a different concept art and plan before he was remove.

I would love to see this, but I'm not sure Shuhei would want to be in that important/all consuming position. I would love to see him come back, and I could see it happening at least in some way with Nishino.
I miss the Shawn Layden, Adam Boyes, and Shuhei Yoshida era.
Ryan was a good businessman and his decisions were very business oriented. Obviously that won't go well with everybody, and he was far from perfect but the guy lead PlayStation during one of the worst times in the brand history with COVID and shit. His job wasn't easy and he still lead the brand to the highest profits they have ever seen IIRC.
From that point of view I agree with you 100%.

On the Concord front Shuhei would have put the green light on Concord during an era when Overwatch was huge and the game could have looked completely different.

Without Concord, PlayStation would have Helldivers 2 and Marathon as their only Live Service releases.
Without the biggest blight in world history, Sonys Live Service efforts look exponentially better.

Sony always had a footprint in the US and considering they haven't launched a Japanese centered game since Bloodborne or Last Guardian - why are you shocked they winded operations down in their home country? Companies follow the money and Sony is no different when these games are selling 20+ million copies and Japanese games are barely moving the needle.
