Someone has to pay for Marathong
This forum is about videogames. If the price of milk went up I'm sure the dudes at NeoMilk would be up in arms as well.I assume everyone on here losing their minds and throwing temper tantrums react the same way when anything else in their life goes up by this amount of money?
You start by being complacent when a company tries to fuck you over for a few bucks, and you end up having to pay extra to play your games online for the last 13 years. One of the few powers we as consumers have is to complain when we don't like things. It's only gaming that generates this inane, hysterical discourse over such a pittance increase. People need to take a good long look at themselves and wobble their head if their reactions in this thread are genuine.
I agree but I avoid most subs. So I'm not getting hit with a thousand cuts I'm just paying for the things I want. I don't pay the AC repair guy monthly and I wash my own car which I barely do cause I don't care. That kind of attitude is why everything is a subscription now. Hell even my air conditioning repair guy and car washes try to get you with a subscription now. It's financial death by a thousand cuts.
So I did the math starting from the PS4 when it was cheaper but I still kept it at $80/yr. Came out to a little over $1k. That's 13 years of service. That's nothing. It cost me that much a year just to have my lawn mowed. I'd rather someone else mow it though so I can stay inside and play games.Multiply that by 12 and then again by the number of years you've been subscribed to PS+. How much money have you paid for a few services (that are free in other platforms) and a bunch of games you don't even own?

Yes, I called out Nintendo and Xbox previously for their retarded greediness.I assume everyone on here losing their minds and throwing temper tantrums react the same way when anything else in their life goes up by this amount of money?

"That's nothing" lol. Dude with that money you could buy a brand new PS6 (probably) or get your lawn mowed twice as often. So I did the math starting from the PS4 when it was cheaper but I still kept it at $80/yr. Exactly. I might like this or that companies' games but being a fan of a product shouldn't mean I have to defend them when they try to fuck me over a few pennies. People should have more respect for themselves as consumers. All of these companies, even the ones you like, are scumbag assholes and have zero respect for you.
You think people aren't up in arms over the ever-increasing price of groceries and GAS? Shit, everytime I go to the grocery store a few of my staple items have gone up from the week before.I assume everyone on here losing their minds and throwing temper tantrums react the same way when anything else in their life goes up by this amount of money?

Entry level price would make it a non factor.Imagine if Helix actually has no MP paywall...
If you're an offline or f2p only gamer, pc is never cheaper and this is true for all consoles. In the long run PC works out cheaper.
Also a better platform overall.
By god he's gonna go down swinging.

10% increase on 1 mth, interestingly its a slightly larger increase on the 3 month (12%). Its also not an increase on the annual sub and this is for theSo $11 month for new customers to play online, and no Cloud Gaming included.
You know good and goddamn well that people complain about price increases all the time, in every avenue of life, so why are you in here acting like a clown over a multi-billion dollar company taking a little bit of heat?I assume everyone on here losing their minds and throwing temper tantrums react the same way when anything else in their life goes up by this amount of money?

You mean it's for the Essential tier, not the Extra tier. For some1 who cancels a sub if they're not playing a certain month, then resubscribe, they would count as new customer no? So this would eventually apply to millions of users even though it says New customers only.10% increase on 1 mth, interestingly its a slightly larger increase on the 3 month (12%). Its also not an increase on the annual sub and this is for the Extra tier, not the two higher tiers.
For people rage quitting I wonder if they read the detail and work out if it applies to them?
Regardless Sony are slowly boiling the frog. But this time it definitely is slowly.
Ah my bad, i have them backwards in my head for some reason. Been ages since I stacked years, but its becoming relevant with both my PS and GPU ending in October this year. You mean it's for the Essential tier, not the Extra tier. For some1 who cancels a sub if they're not playing a certain month, then resubscribe, they would count as new customer no? Meanwhile Steam increases it cost to play games online 100% every year and no one complains...
I'd rather pay PlayStation than Tim Sweeney, but I'll pass on both and use SteamOS.Friendly reminder that on PC you don't pay for online multiplayer or cloud saves, and you get more free games on Epic every month than PS+ tosses at you.
Fewer poor people on PS+ is a + in my book
The "why do you even care" morons cannot stop losing. All they know how to do is lose. This thread should be bookmarked as a response to every single post about anti-woke people being just as bad.
The shit they have been throwing against the wall to chase that woke audience is why we are all dealing with these PS+ prices in my humble opinion. All those millions (if not billions) wasted is being paid back by those of us who never wanted the crap they pumped out in the first place.
How in the world did you manage that? Very good pricing, lol.I guess I won't be renewing when my locked in $45/yr Premium sub runs out in 2029.
You could stack indefinitely years ago. The conversion when they brought in extra was capped. I know people stacked into the 30's.How in the world did you manage that? Very good pricing, lol.

Premium being as expensive as Gamepass Ultimate would be insane. Premium gets a single PS1 or PSP game per month. You mean it's for the Essential tier, not the Extra tier. I agree with the slow boiling frog. I think more price hikes will come before or after GTA6, but before next gen, especially for the Extra and Premium tiers. I can see Extra being $15.99 and Premium being $21.99 or $20.99, then $180 or $200 for yearly Premium.
I thought they would've done $19.99 monthly Premium, and $90 yearly Essential. That was the low hanging fruit. $11 Essential without Cloud Gaming is just way too much.
Sony's $765M impairment charge against Bungie probably wiped out all of Helldivers 2's $$$ alone. Then add the $1.2B retention bonus to keep Bungie employees from quitting. So just these two Bungie costs alone are $2B combined."Herman, are you sure we should continue bankrolling these risky titles?"
Don't worry sweet thing. If it flops, my gamers will cover it.

I would have disagreed big time previously. But Sony thinks it's acceptable to charge an online access tax and charge a lot more than previously for it. So if they want to screw over customers like they do in my opinion then I hope someone does show them how it feels when the tables are turned.Imagine paying for services you get for free everywhere else.
It's time for EU to protect the consumers and force Sony & MS to accept third-party payments options and stores on their platforms.
Guess existing subs don't know how to read. Makes sense![]()
But Sony is more profitable per dollar than ever. Why would they do this to the Gamers?
