Best fishing mini game?

So, guys, I feel like every game these days has some kind of fishing mini-game. I played one in dota 2 last year, this month alone , 2 games(gravekeeper and dredge) have fishing game on it. Most of the are the same... And boring. Why so many include them if they aren't gonna make it fun?

So, since it seems all game will eventually get one, do you know any that is actually fun to play and should be replicated?

Sonic Adventure 1's Big stages for me.
Edit: Just noticed not a single post mentioned the same game. That's pretty fuckin awesome actually.

Twilight princess
Facts. Loved it on Wii especially with flicking the fishing pole. The first bits in the village are meh but when you get the proper stuff and have your little canoe to move around the lake it's rad. I really wanted/want them to make Link's Fishing Adventure like Link's Crossbow Training expanding on it.

Definitely 'Dredge' and it's available in almost all modern platforms.

If you like retro, perhaps sega bass fishing. If you have yakuza infinite wealth, it's available on the arcade inside that game.

Fishing minigames are my bane. They're everywhere, and they're never fun.
Worst offender is Twilight Princess for making it mandatory in the tutorial.

I guess the best one is still the one in Link's Awakening. 2D, one screen, a couple of rewards you can get quickly, and then you're done with it forever. Essentially a Game & Watch.

Fishing mini games are gambling at a slow pace but with more effort and usually for little reward.

I don't think I've ever played one that I felt added anything to the game it was in. I've never been introduced to the concept and been happy about it.

At least in Monster Hunter World there's a way to (sometimes) skip the actual process. I think it's by throwing a net at the water.

Stardew Valley and Yakuza 3 have great fishing.

I remember Ocarina of Time having really fun fishing but I can't remember how it worked :pie_thinking:. Maybe time for another replay soon.
