Sony Santa Monica Hiring Staff With FPS/TPS, Vehicle Combat, & Open World Experience

Well this is interesting. Sony Santa Monica has put up these two new job postings.

Notably, unlike the puzzle/platforming and online programmer job postings from a few weeks ago, these do not list "Join the God of War team!", so these are either for a different team in Sony Santa Monica, or they are trying to not just be known as the God of War people anymore.

In summary, the desired skills they are looking for are:
-First/Third Person Shooter experience.
-Vehicle combat experience.
-Open world experience.
-Boss design capabilities.

Maybe a modern version of God of War; modern Greece. Open city/environments. After the ending of GOWIII is the obvious route too. A descendant of Kratos, all angsty with guns and martial arts.

:p

doesn't Sony Santa Monica work with "2nd Party" Developers? Maybe they are helping out on the finishing touches for Twisted Metal or Starhawk.

or, has there been a Next Gen game that was similar to these two games?...imagine something like this but with an improved GOW3 engine. O_O

here is video.

Kratos in his quest to destroy Zeus unknowingly opens portal to the year 2150 where he suddenly finds himself in the middle of a destruction derby type event, and now has to drive a bulldozer and destroy everyone.

I think I'd retire from gaming if this ever happened. :(

Seems like a number of projects vs. a single game that encompasses all. Isn't SSM associated with helping out other developers working on Sony games? Regardless.

I'll eat up whatever these guys release. E3 teaser trailer please.

Activision. Revival attempt bombed and those developers are working on a chicken-themed kart racer or something.

Sounds like they're helping in production of Warhawk 2/Starhawk, as Warhawk was an open world, third person shooter with vehicle combat. They also helped in the production of Warhawk.

this is the most likely scenario

Most likely a new Warhawk iteration, which I'm 100% down with. I'd love to see this as a launch title for the PS4 in 2013. ;)

Imagine if the game actually turned out to be another modern warfare military shooter though, people would be throwing themselves into traffic.

Isn't Sony working on a realistic military first person shooter? that doesn't have anything to do with Socom or MAG.

I thought I read about it a couple of months ago.

That's the first time that i've heard anything about them working on a military FPS (other than MAG). Even if they are this doesn't really sound like it would fit into that.

yeah, just tried to google it and nothing comes up....might have remembered wrong or something.
