I can't wait til WWE leaves USA completely and TV in general and just broadcasts in Twittervision via tweets about matches.

I could actually see them doing this, live play by play through twitter!...Actually that doesn't sound too bad if cole just shuts up and tweets then JR can do commentary! /pipedream.

Man, WWE knows how to do things without moderation. This twitter obession is stupid though its all Vince idea. It doesn't add anything to the product at all. They should just care about the show.

Thats why smackdown is so much better right now. One, Vince is to sick to care so the story lines make sense and its taped so no twitter crap.

remember when triple h ruined RVD's career?

Lol. WWE as a whole was completely stupid with Van Dam. The guy was approaching Austin/Rock levels of popularity less than a year being in. I was at Royal Rumble 2002 and the pop for him was ear-splitting. So what do they do? Completely fuck the guy around until finally giving him the belt in 2006, when the mainstream was way past the point of caring. HHH crushing Van Dam at Unforgiven 2002 really did destroy him.

But I will say that RVD was a guy that did have to be treated very carefully. He isn't able to overcome being booked in garbage like Austin and Rock were.

Well, the thing is, Twitter does make sense. It's a good barometer of buzz; what people are talking about. Encourages people to engage in your product rather than consume it passively.

The problem is Vince has nobody to go through, so he has taken Twitter and just run with it then you end up with these twitter pop-ups on screen every ten seconds.

If it was confined to 'Did You Know?' bumpers it would be fine.

I can't wait for Twittermania. I hope WWE provides awesome free wifi so all the non USAers can tweet from the stadium without getting raped up the ass in data charges.

They're just forcing their way in now.

"GET THIS TRENDING YOU DUMBASS UNIVERSE. WE SO HIP. WE SO COOL. DID YOU KNOW WE BE TRENDING!? SHEEEEIIIIT"

It's kinda sad really. It's like that episode of simpsons where the cat and dog are trying to get Lisa and Bart's attention.

Crazy old Vince doesn't get that he's not big anymore. Neither is the Rock.

I said it after this week's RAW, but the Twitter problem is speeding up expotentionally. One week it's shilled a lot, the next week the wrestler's Twitter names are listed next to their ring names, this week "trending" topics pop up on screen and they actively tell people to trend things.

If it's this bad already, and getting massively worse every week, what's it going to look like at WM28?

I don't think WWE will ever enter mainstream popularity ever again.

Nope. It will fade away eventually with no competition. There won't be any competition until some money marks decide to spend money on top level WWE talent and steal them away from WWE. A PG product isn't cool with teenagers or the vaunted 18-34 demo either and that's why those fans are leaving in droves.

Like the Batman Arkham Asylum ps3 GOTY cover, but with twitters posts and hashtags.

I can't imagine where WWE or wrestling in general will be in ten years.

One could hope ROH or something somehow stumbles onto something that catches on with the mainstream and makes real competition for WWE, to make them kick it into gear (and fresh ideas to steal and build a new boom on).

But I don't see another WCW coming around anymore, instead it's looking like a long, painful fade.

Maybe the AXIE BOMBA of the WWE Network will wake them up and make them realise how far they've fallen. That or bankrupt them and kill the whole thing.

You know the thing on the bottom of video sites? With links to share on twitter/facebook/whatever the fuck else? Yeah it'll be like that.

WM Programs will require you to log onto your phone and tweet a certain amount of things.

Pretty much, with WWE as DULL as it is right now, I see it fading away in a few years.

this multiple quote this is pretty cool.

i'd say something about the nostalgia stream but we don't have that anymore. Cause we can't have nice things.

I'm going to go out and buy a best of WCW Monday Nitro DVD and rise and fall of WCW

It is kind of funny that instead of concentrating on the important stuff like

  • Creating a compelling product
  • Putting the talent over
  • Investing in the talent of tomorrow
  • Getting its other two TV shows... Actually on TV
  • Selling out arenas

WWE instead forces... Twitter.

Yet, if you do all of the above, then the twitter stuff will come naturally.

The whole Pg thing is not causing people to stop watching the show. If that was the case why is smackdown ratings up compared to last year if that show is also pg?

The problem is booking not what rating it was 2002 raw was non pg but was still crap.

So where do you think they're going with this Daniel Bryan/Mark Henry thing?

Right now he's just a prop for the Show/Henry feud, but it could be anyone they use for that role, so why Bryan?

We can hope they're going to build to a WM28 Bryan/Henry match, but you know how it goes, logical booking is rarely their priority.

Most likely Big Show turns heel once it comes out that Big Show tried to use Bryan to get an easy World Title match.

I tired to look at Superstars today and Josh Mathews and Striker decided to not call the the Barreta vs Kidd match - instead spending 5 minutes talking about the difference between Facebook and Twitter.

FUCK THIS SHIT IS OUT OF HAND NOW

Facebook vs Twitter; The Status Update vs Trendsetter; Like vs Hashtag. The greatest rivalry in the last 10 years to end on the grandest stage of them all. Book it!

remember when triple h ruined RVD's career?

its pretty much a WWE right of passage for everyone the last 10 years to have your first big push but then have it cut short by HHH.

Normally a few months later they will have a do over and push that guy again but they just can never commit to a guy before making him lose to HHH and putting the spotlight back on HHH for a few months.

happened with Ortan, Cena, Punk, Booker T, Batista, RVD, goldberg and so on.

When transferring from the mid card to the main event you gotta lose to HHH and spend another few months in a crapper.... its the law.

Look out for HHH putting Ziggler and Cody Rhodes in there place in the coming years.

Maybe after Vince stands down after WWE networks costs them hundreds of millions for no good eason HHH will take over booking and Raw will become like Lawlers old wrasslin' show where it was basically just a Jerry the King wank fest for a few years and he won the title over 100 times.

Its going to happen and I'm going to keep you all informed, updated, flooded with information on latest sensation to infect the WWE Universe - Twitter.

The global superstar. He is trending.

Don't forget Facebook. The international superstar. He is 'Like'-ing stuff worldwide brother.

this

the problem isnt that the show is PG the problem is the show sort of sucks and they cant keep a good thing going without ruining it with the same old shit.

The CM Punk 4th wall breaking promo was PG, the Nexus was PG.

2 great angles that could have signaled a change in direction for WWEs programming but both cut short within the first month by returning to the same old shit they have been doing since 2004.

They need to do something crazy that grabs peoples attention and they need to commit to it.

Basically Cena NEEDS to turn heel at mania. if they can do it right and maybe it will be this era's Hogan/nwo turn.

They have the talent to support the program, Cena isnt selling shirts like he use to. they need to take the risk.

ether that or something on that level and they need to commit to it and not have it ruined by Cena or HHH within 3 weeks.

But no one is selling merchandise like Cena. If they are going to turn him heel they need a plan for where to go with that. I don't see who you replace him with as the top babyface (it's not Punk, as much as I like him)

wouldn't that be neato? If Cena turned heel and got his own stable of heels with him?

It'd be better than Wade Carrot and his weak heel buddy team.

Let's face it, The Real Austin died the second he gave the world "WHAT?"

The Austin you saw on Tough Enough was an echo through time and space.

I'll accept nothing of the sort. Steve Austin was awesome when he was Stunning, he was awesome when he was Stone Cold, and he's still awesome when he turns up twice a year to collect a check. Fuck The Rock; he'll always be second fiddle.

Fuck THQ. Screw everything.

Everyone go watch the Chikorita PPV.

:lol @ Chikorita, but for real, this is how I've felt since like late August. Then TNA looked to be turning around but screwed that up too in typical TNA fashion. I'm finding it extremely hard to care anymore. Even Smackdown which is "ok" sometimes, I find myself skipping over half of the show to the point where it takes me like 30 minutes to watch it. :/

Oh well. ROH TV + Final Battle December 23rd, Bootaaay's vids, and UFC shows keep me thoroughly entertained.

So he can be fed to Orton?

Anything on RAW sucks that isn't Ziggler. Punk isn't untouchable here.

Agreed. Ziggler is so effing good right now, it's criminal he has to deal with JoMo and Mason Ryan. He even got a good match out of Sin Cara!

Also, does anyone else think D. Brine might cash in tomorrow night? I dunno, it seems like maybe he's had enough of Henry and will just say "fuck it" and do it.

Pretty sure Cena has been lagging behind ryder and Punk in merch sales for the last few months but they could just be flavor of the month.

But yeah they would need someone to counter Cena... and it isnt punk.

well...... if Cena is gonna be the main focus of there TV show after mania it should be a heel Cena. They can feed him people to build up his heel'ness for a few months, he can cheat to win the title back and hopefully have someone who can stand up to him by summerslam.

it will be something different and thats the main thing.

I mean how the hell are they gonna make him beat the rock without some kind of shenanigans??? if he hugs the rock to end the show then thats just fucking dumb.

Just think of it this way. That match will have loads of non regular wrestling fans watching, people who stopped watching years ago, people who watched when the Rock was in him prime.
if they want to do a change its the perfect time. Hopefully some of those people watching will tune into raw to see what happens next.

Punk could still be punk and feud with Austin. It would be like HBK vs Hogan.

Austin can come out and give a normal Austin promo then punk can come out and say austin disgusts him with the beer drinking / cursing and go from there.
