Going to MSG to watch Survivor Series later. Get hyped!

I hope Rock's performance does not disappoint.

QUOTE]Let us know who D. Brine faces in the dark match.

Tonight is actually going to be, incredibly enough, my very first live event.

I figure floor seats at MSG for the Rock's return (and a CM Punk title match) should make for a pretty decent first show.

Classic FMW show featuring some ECW talent and HBK refereeing the main event;

FMW "10TH ANNIVERSARY ~ ENTERTAINMENT WRESTLING SPECIAL LIVE", 23.11.1999
Yokohama Arena
11,000 Fans

WEW SIX MAN TAG TEAM TITLE LADDER DECISION MATCH;

01. Koji Nakagawa, Jado & Gedo vs Ricky Fuji, Flying Kid Ichihara & Chocoball Mukai

HANDICAP TAG MATCH;

02. Kaori Nakayama & Emi Motokawa vs Jazz, Malia Hosaka & Miss Mongol

03. Willie Williams vs Bad Boy Hido

04. Dory Funk Jr. & Terry Funk vs Yoshinori Sasaki & Naohiko Yamazaki

WEW HARDCORE TITLE MATCH;

05. Kintaro Kanemura (c) vs Balls Mahoney

WEW TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH;

06. Tetsuhiro Kuroda & Hisakatsu Oya (c) vs Raven & Tommy Dreamer

WEW SINGLES TITLE 13,000 VOLT THUNDERBOLT CAGE DEATHMATCH - LOSER LEAVES FMW;

07. Kodo Fuyuki (c) vs Masato Tanaka

MILLENNIUM COUNDOWN - SPECIAL REFEREE: HBK SHAWN MICHAELS;

08. Hayabusa (Mr. Gannosuke) vs H (Eiji Ezaki)

Really odd undercard here, with a very Sports Entertainment 6-man ladder match, a women's handicap tag match featuring Jazz & Malia Hosaka of WWF fame, then Bad Boy Hido takes on Willie Williams (some Karate guy who was famous in the 70's for fighting a bear, lol) in an awful worked-shoot MMA match that has no business being on a wrestling show, before a random tag match with the Funks (crazy to see how old Dory looked back in '99, especially as he wouldn't retire for another 9 years) taking on Yamazaki & Sasaki (who would later become Mammoth Sasaki).

Then getting into the midcard, the Hardcore title match is surprisingly entertaining (given that it involves Balls Mahoney) and while the Tag Title match isn't anything exceptional, it's good to see Raven & Dreamer in Japan. Next, the semi-main event with Masato Tanaka taking on Kodo Fuyuki in a mad electrified cage match for the WEW Title, plus the loser has to leave FMW. The main event meanwhile sees Hayabusa (who's actually Mr. Gannosuke) take on H (who's actually Eiji Eizaki/the real Hayabusa). I'm not sure of the backstory behind this one, but I think Hayabusa unmasked and became known simply as H, then Gannosuke stole the Hayabusa gimmick and he and Fuyuki started dishonouring the Hayabusa name, and the result was this match which, for some bizarre reason, was refereed by HBK.

BIG spoiler from the finals of Pro Wrestling NOAH's Global League singles tournament;
Takeshi Morishima defeated KENTA in 17 minutes with the Backdrop Driver
! Great news for
Morishima
and for NOAH, they need more people in the main event.

Also, at ROH's Glory By Honor show last night Kevin Steen once again gatecrashed and caused mayhem, getting himself thrown out from the building and cutting this promo post-show via a fan's cellphone;

I've said it plenty of times, but this is how WWE should have handled CM Punk. They couldn't have let it go for a year like Ring of Honor, but they could have got a few months out of Punk crashing RAW and house shows trying to defend his title while Cena or whoever defended a fake title.

But we all know WWE doesn't know how to build things and they sure as hell don't know the meaning of heat.

RE: Awesome Truth vs. Rock/Cena,

On the one hand I can see why it makes sense for Awesome Truth to win. Rock will give Cena the Rock Bottom, or they'll some how inadvertently hit the other and Awesome Truth will take advantage and get the pin. That's the way it SHOULD end. Rock should be the eventual heel going into the match at Wrestlemania and this will set it all up. But in this day and age, sadly, I don't think WWE has the balls for Awesome Truth to get the victory in any fashion.

That, and the crowds don't react the way they should. An Awesome Truth victory would be solid gold if there was a swerve (let's say Rock screwing over Cena), and the crowd boos the shit out of the rock and start throwing shit into the ring as Rock celebrates with Awesome Truth.

That won't happen.

The match will culminate with all 4 in the ring at the same time, Cena will give the AA to Miz, Rock will hit Truth with the Rock bottom... probably set up a horrid double people's elbow (both Rock and Cena do it at the same time to the person they used their finisher on) then they do a double pin, end of match.

There is a good chance Punk doesn't go over tonight, however there is also a good chance that he does.

The way he has been building himself up over the past couple of weeks makes it seem like he'll win tonight, but... it's Punk, at a PPV. The last time he won was at Money in the Bank.

I think he has only had 2 PPV wins this entire year, right? (not counting summerslam)

Oh the guy who runs the superstream is an asshole. First he gives credit for a free PPV people who's stream cut out, but he takes that away and says SS will be free instead, but takes that away as well "out of respect for the people who have paid for the service".

This is the PPV where Cena turns heel right? Rock puts a Rock Bottom on both members of Awesome Truth, match is over but Cena AA's Rock and drags Miz's comatose body on top of the Rock. He then spits in some little girls face while taunting the crowd out and the show ends.

I kind of feel they have to make Rock or Cena the heel. This match doesn't make a whole lot of sense without a huge twist. Which is why it just ends with Rock / Cena winning the match, them shaking hands and then Rock with a Rock Bottom on Cena to end the show.

Didn't they basically give up the result a page or so back when someone posted that there will be a rematch at TLC? Tonight is Punk's rematch clause* match so it stands to reason that at TLC, it will be Del Rio's rematch clause because he lost at Survivor Series.

*Technically, Punk used his rematch clause when he was added to the triple threat Hell in a Cell match. Both Cena and Punk had rematch clauses and argued in a promo over who is going to have a match first. Triple H solved the problem by making the match a triple threat. Some weeks later, Punk said, "No, no. That wasn't my one-on-one rematch clause!". So who knows, really. They seem to just make everything up.

Cena is never going heel again no matter how much we want it. If you want heel Cena you have to watch this:

Yeah, I guess so. I didn't read that page but if Del Rio has a rematch at TLC, then FUCK YEAAAAAAAAAH.

I hope GAF will actually be happy that Punk is champ again.

One of the best gimmicks in the last decade, IMO.

This entire angle is designed to put over Cena. Cena will beat Rock at Wrestlemania and earn Rock's respect. They'll shake hands after and probably the next night on Raw Rock will put over how great Cena is to try to give him that coolness rub.

They should just make Cena the heel since Punk sells more shirts now but yeah, won't happen.

Cena is doomed to a career of mediocrity. Although, I'm not gonna lie. An NWO heel turn for Cena would be off the charts.

I just want Dwayne to have to pull out of the big rasslemania main event because it would be karma telling Vince how stupid and shortsighted it is to waste Dwayne's big return on this match.

Wouldn't it be rad if Dwayne tore his ACL tonight?

In the sense that they'd have to scramble to build a new WrestleMania main event, one that actually involves someone who'll be around longer than 5 months? Yeah, that'd be pretty rad.

Because the WrestleMania main event is awfully predictable;

Least-likely; Cena beats Rock by nefarious means, heel turn to continue their feud.
Evens; Rock beats Cena by nefarious means, heel turn to continue their feud.
Most-likely; Cena beats the Rock clean, they shake hands and hug it out to close the show.

Really?!? I see it a lot (first time seeing wrasslin shirts in real life since the attitude era), but I always assumed the little Jimmies were still buying the fruity pebbles Cena shirts by the truckload.

There's no way he would pull out of the match. We saw Hulk Hogan vs. Sting, you think The Rock is going to let a leg injury stop him? Vince will turn it into a street fight or a boxing match or maybe an arm wrestling competition.

In wrassling, love finds a way.

Always.

I wonder if a Foley run in costing Rock and Cena the match could happen. I could go with a Foley heel run for a while, that might be an interesting way to use him.

I think Cena still sells merch, but Punk is definitely #1 in the company right now.

It has gotten to the point where there were little Jimmies with Punk shirts on RAW. Yup.

I didn't watch back then, but after watching that clip I have to wonder if he was really a heel.

That means that Kurt Angle, Billy Gunn, Vince McMahon, Taz, and Rikishi were babyfaces?

Actually, he used the Word Life gimmick as both heel and face. Some of that video content was him being a face.

I would think the recent debut of his very non heelish t shirt means no way is a Cena heel turn happening. We just got a metric fuckton of those in at work, too.

Awesome Truth should win through Rock/Cena miscommunication. That's what makes sense, so expect nothing like that at all.

Hey bros, I haven't read the last couple pages. I'll keep it simple. I haven't ordered the PPV yet. Is there any chance Punk will win tonight? I would order it if you guys have a MITB feel tonight.

Thanks.

Punk is #1 in terms of selling merch? When I looked on wweshop the other day after someone else said this the top selling guy still seemed to be Cena.

Wouldn't it make more sense to have Cena be the one that gets injured? That way he is off tv for 6 months +

It'd make more sense to build someone else up as the underdog for a change, have the main event be Cena vs anyone who isn't already perceived as being at Cena's level - Cena not being around for 6 months does nothing if he just comes back and slots right back in at the top. We need Cena to put someone over clean in a face vs face situation, but that will never happen while he's constantly fighting dem odds.

It's also far, far too simple and effective for modern WWE booking. Where's the convoluted bullshit that doesn't make a lick of sense?

Punk's probably winning it because a) Del Rio's title run has been somewhat lacklustre, and b) WWE just loves hot-shotting titles from one PPV to the next.

I think that CM Punk will win, but I definitely do not have a MITB feel in the air tonight.

Rock and Cena will become best buds tonight. It's what makes the least sense so its what I expect them to do. Also D. Brine will cash in MITB, why not.

I'm sure it's still Cena, at the "Raw gets Rocked" in Boston, though, there was definitely a lot more Punk shirts and a lot less Cena shirts compared to what you usually see at an event.

A lot of "lil' jimmy" types in Punk shirts and Cena hats which makes NO sense to me at all. Same thing with people in Cena hats and Rock shirts.

Cena still sells merchandise but Punk and I think even Ryder are starting to sell more than him.

Of course Punk and Ryder are incredibly over among everyone as opposed to just Females and Kids like Cena is.

BTW I don't see a heel turn for either Rock or Cena. There's going to be some sort of shenanigans among them that Awesome Truth's going to take advantage of.

Liquidsnake: I'm pretty sure he's going to win but I don't think too many people are hyped tonight.
