The 2nd-tier shelf of fall 3DS software - What's the Verdict ?

No, there's more stuff that's already out, and lots of big stuff coming next year, including Resident Evil Revelations, Kid Icarus and MGS3D in Q1 which were supposed to be out this year but were pushed back.

I've listening to a few podcasts that basically said "There are only two games worth playing" Zelda OoT and Super Mario 3D Land. The likelihood that they visited all the games in the OP is quite slim. In any case, I won't be getting the 3DS yet. (Vita has my heart, and will for another year.)

Yes. This is it. Nothing has been released post day one. Don't bother looking at online retailers, they are only there to trick you into thinking there is more out there.

the only thing actually keeping me away from nintendo 3ds is a possible hardware remake...
and region lock really hurts my feelings...

Really want Shinobi to be good. But I just hate the overcolored looks of it...

Will wait for more reviews. If it's even close to any of the Shinobi games of the 16bit generation I'm in!

Other great third party games prior to now:

Ghost Recon Shadow Wars
Super Street Fighter 4
Ridge Racer 3D
Devil Survivor Overclocked
Dead or Alive Dimensions
Resident Evil Mercenaries 3D
Pinball Hall of Fame: The Williams Collection

I played a demo of Shinobi, seemed like a decent game, although the controls were a tad sluggish and the graphics were hideous.

Mass Attack is a boring throwaway game without the Kirby charm at all. I've never hated a Kirby game until I got Mass Attack. BLECH!

Yeah I try not to buy every game at launch unless there is some incentive or it's a big Nintendo game. I already own everything Nintendo released for 3DS in the US so far...and next will be Mario Kart 7 :)

Picked up Shinobi, and it's surprisingly fun. It reminds me a bit of Ninja Five-O, which is a very good thing. Brutally hard.

I'm really wanting Ace Combat, but if it's anything like Namco's other 3DS games, it'll probably drop to $30 before Christmas.

Shinobi, Sonic and maybe Ace Combat/Nano Assault for me.

After SSFIV, DOA, Zelda, Mario and Starfox, I'm good on 3DS for a bit until Kid Icarus.

A few people have been discussing Shinobi here. I think I'm already sold on it, but a few more opinions would be nice. I can't tell if it really does turn to shit after a few levels or if the reviewers/commentators are just girlymen.

I just gotten hold of Ace Combat Assault Horizon Legacy. It's pretty awesome so far. It's nice that "Manuvers" that are carry overs from The Sky Crawlers don't break the game and quite a fair amount of precision is still needed.

Why is Keynote voiced by Batou from Ghost in the Shell?

Good Shinobi reviews are promising. Perhaps it'll end up being the 3DS's "Ninja Cop," a quality title that was completely ignored.

Hopefully Nintendo was bullshitting about there being no GBA games on VC, so Konami can re-release it eventually.

I remember seeing some iOS game "from the maker of Ninja 5-0". Does anyone know what I'm talking about, and if so, what's it like?

Just picked up the Pac-man/Galaga game and I love it. Addictive as hell and I really like the two 3DS exclusive modes.

Shinobi sounds so good.

Considering Ambassadors get GBA games, I'm sure it's in the cards.

WayForward is working hard to get Shantae on eShop.

Shinobi seems like a pleasant surprise. And here I thought it was going to be a "disappointment".

I have Pac-man/Galaga Dimensions and play it mostly for Galaga Legions. Online Leaderboards is a nice feature, but I doubt I'll be dedicated enough to score crazy enough.

Not one of the 2nd-tier titles of the fall, but I just finished Rabbids Travel in Time 3d (the 2d platformer that came out near launch). It was... okay. It was kind of bland. The premise is that a Rabbid goes back in time using a washer/dryer and... uh... fights other Rabbids... and then the game ends when you travel forward in time again? Okay?

A few level design annoyances: You have a ton of health and keep getting more through the game, so you'll never die from taking damage, but there are instant death sections and you'll die an enormous amount of times from them. It's not hard in any way, you just grind through lives in the last few worlds. Levels often reverse left-right direction, which is fine, but the bottom screen is used for a bar showing your progress through the level (like NSMB) and it flows left->right all the time. There were also some weird UI decisions (you need to replay most levels to beat a time target, but it doesn't tell you which levels you can/have beaten in this way, the game requires you to collect items in 12 specific levels, but there's no indication which levels have them until you enter the level, you collect costumes but there's no checklist). So typical launch title problems.

There were a fair few levels and a decent variety of in-level mechanics so you might like it for $10-15 or so. I did play it to 100% completion so obviously I didn't dislike my time with it.

Cave Story 3D, Ace Combat, and Nano Assault for me. Maybe Shinobi later on. Of those though, I'm only likely to get Nano Assault day one. The rest will wait.

I'm a bit scared though that Cave Story 3D will disappear ala Devil Survivor and end up expensive. I may want to jump on it.

Skip Kirby Mass Attack and get Canvas Curse & Super Star Ultra. Mass Attack could be any game with just Kirby characters slapped over it...worst game in my opinion.
Yeah, it's a totally generic 2D PIKMIN PLATFORMING PILE OF AWESOME. Like Canvas Curse, it's much better than any of the actual Kirby platformers.

Anyway, on topic, I will pick up Cave Story 3D if somebody has a sale that will allow me to get it with Mario. Will probably get James Noir and Dr. Lautrec at discounts someday. Maybe Ace Combat, too.

I'm gonna pick up Sonic eventually (getting Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7 only for now) and Tales of the Abyss when it launches in the US next year.

Traded in some old DS games for Shinobi today. The 3D seems a little off, I actually have ghosting while other games like Mario are totally crisp! I turned 3D off completely after a while the ghosting killed it for me.

Gameplaywise it definitely has the feel of a Shinobi game but I have some trouble really using 5 different buttons on the 3DS to full effect. They are so damn small... And it seems like you really have to master the controls: Difficulty is quite challenging. 3rd section already has you wall jumping around Super Meat Boy style...

So far I would say try before you buy. I only caved in because it was seemed hard to get here in Germany. Most stores where I asked didn't get it although they ordered soime and I didn't want to risk missing out on it when it turns out to be great.

I'm really wanting Nano Assault. I wish Majesco would get their shit together and stick to a release date. Gamestop and Best Buy have this as coming out tomorrow, but I'm not getting my hopes up. I've seen 3 other dates on various websites.

Yeah, it's delayed to who-knows-exactly-when according to one site:
This week, we planned to review Nano Assault, the impressive looking 3DS shooter from Majesco and Shin'en Multimedia.

So much for that.

Despite showing a November 22 ship date for weeks, turns out the game was officially delayed to...to...no one really knows.

In fact, when we contacted Majesco PR to find out, we received this response:

"...the game was pushed back and is not available yet. It has been an extremely busy could of months for Majesco."

Any Pro Evo 2012 reviews ? Game will be released tomorrow here
in Europe ..already own it on Wii it's great.

the adventures of tin tin is actually pretty good! I was so excited after playing the very first 5 minutes that I hope there is more of that style in the later parts of the game.

also..Nano Assault is goood! plus it comes with Club Nintendo points!!!
